Mrs. Darling's June 2010 Accidental PTR: Pirates and Harry Potter 6/30 TR Link posted

I have seen the time for the standby line for RnRC in June as long as 90 minutes by 10:00am. (Although if they are doing that new thing with the numbers, it might be shorter.)

Are you getting the Verizon App? Here's why. As you are heading into DHS, you'll be able to see the wait time, and make an adjustment.

Is this an EMH for DHS?? Maybe someone could watch the kids while you go and get a FP earlier. This is a lot of traveling, but might be worth it.

Good luck, if you try it.
This info may make me rethink my plans a bit. I don't have the Verizon App (I don't have WiFi on my phone so there is no way I can get it.) And there is no someone to watch the kids because I'm alone with them on this trip. So now I'm going to rethink my options a bit.

Congratulations on getting your ADR's!!:thumbsup2 I think two hours sounds doable. Hopefully, the crowds won't be too bad at DHS. However, you will get a feel for that as soon as you enter the park so you will kind of know what you are getting into.

We love Tutto Italia! It is so good! I had the lasagna and DH had the chicken parm and both were excellent. You are ending your trip the same way we always do. MK to see the fireworks and parade. That is a must do for us.:goodvibes
I'm rethinking the DHS plan. We shall see. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Tutto Italia. And there is no better way to end the trip than with fireworks in front of the castle:goodvibes

I am glad you got the ADRs you wanted in October. Hmm...as long as the transportation is running smoothly and the lines are not too long, sounds doable to me. :thumbsup2
I was happy with the ADRs too. And if I try the DHS thing I won't need Disney transportation. It is a bit unpredictable. I'll just use my own 2 feet and they've been pretty good to me so far:)

Good job getting your ADRs!
Thanks! I'm glad I got everything, but was still was a bit suprised Le Cellier was so full for a late lunch already. I had to get it 30 minutes earlier than I wanted. Probably shouldn't suprise me though. That is one of the hardest to get.

So before I get on to the plans for Day 8 let me report on my October ADRs. I was up at 6:00 am sharp logged onto the computer. First ADR I went for was Le Cellier. Did I get it?

Yes I did!!!:woohoo: Though it was still a half hour from the time I wanted it. Crazy! I can happily report I also got the Saana and Boma ADRs. So one more piece of the October puzzle is in place.:goodvibes

Now on to our plans for Day 8 in June. This day may change as well if my SIL and her kids are still around. But these are the plans as of right now.

No need to get up super early because we aren't trying for rope drop this day. We'll have a leisurely breakfast in the room or if we have CS credits we need to use we'll head over to Goods to Go. Then we'll take a drive over to the Beach Club where the 3 kids are signed up for the Albatross Pirate Cruise. Now I know the boys will love this. Wendy maybe not as much, but I gave her the choice of going on the cruise or coming with me and she chose the cruise. And where am I going? Well I am going to sprint (maybe not sprint, but walk very fast) over to Hollywood Studios and go for a ride on Rock 'n Roller Coaster. I've never been on this before and figured I'd use my couple hour break to do it. Then if it looks like I'll have time I'll hop onto Tower of Terror. Then I'll walk very fast back to the Beach Club dock to pick up the kids and hear their report. The cruise starts at 9:30 and lasts about two hours. Think my plan is possible?

After we are all reunited we will head over for lunch in the World Showcase. We have an ADR at Tutto Italia another first for us. Wendy is an Italian food lover so I scheduled this one for her. Then we'll explore WS a bit and make sure to pick up some Hob Nobs in England These are my favorite English biscuits (for you Americans think cookie.) Then we'll head back to Old Key West for a low key afternoon in the pool or at the community center.

Being our last night on Disney property we don't want to waste it. So early evening we'll head over to the Magic Kingdom where we'll have dinner at the Plaza. Love that cheesesteak! After dinner we'll hit some of the short line attractions and then stake out a spot for the parade. It is the Summer Nightastic Spectacular so we'll enjoy the Main Street Electrical Parade, a classic that dates to my childhood. Then of course we'll stay for the fireworks which are supposed to be the fireworks shown at the Pirate and Princess Party. These were the coolest fireworks I've ever seen at a Disney Park so I'm excited about that! If everyone feels like hanging around we'll hang around. If not we'll head back to the resort for our last sleep in Disney World. But don't worry the vacation isn't over yet. On Day 9 we're headed to Universal and Harry Potter.

So what does everyone think? Specifically do you think 2 hours will be enough to get from the Beach Club to HS, on RNR & TOT and then back to Beach Club?

Congrats on getting all the ADR's you wanted :thumbsup2

Day 8 sounds good. I would stick with your DHS plan to ride Rockin Rollercoaster, is an awesome ride, wonder if there would be a way for you to get FP's in the AM so you can ride later on when the kids are doing the cruise :goodvibes

Yay! for getting the ADR's you wanted!!!:yay: Your Day 8 plans sound great! I love Italian food so I'm anxious to hear what you think of Tutto Italia!! Oh and back to the MK for the night sounds perfect!:cloud9:

As far as 2 hours to get to DHS and back...I think it's doable especially if you're not relying on Disney transportation to take you back and forth. Plus it's still morning. I think the lines for TSM would be a problem obviously:rolleyes:... I'm not sure about the other rides.... maybe if you grabbed a fastpass for TOT and then went straight to RNRC to ride and then went back to TOT it could work.:confused3

I do want to ride RNR, but I'm now rethinking my plans. I don't think there is anyway I could get a fastpass in the AM because we have to be at the cruise dock around 9:15 and I obviously couldn't make it back from 9:00 rope drop by then. Even if I don't get on it this time I will make it a priority for my January trip.

I was excited about the ADRs. And I'm excited to try Tutto too. As I mentioned above I'm actually rethinking the whole try for RNRC plan. I'll talk about what I'm currently brewing in the next post.

So as I have a tendency to do, I've been rethinking some of my Day 8 plans after I saw them all written down. Funny how that happens. I guess that is why we all do trip reports, right:rolleyes1 So anyway I am a bit concerned about the length of the line at Rock 'n Roller Coaster at 10:00. It could be just fine, but it could be too long. I really don't want to feel rushed. And obviously I cannot be late back to the dock. Add to that that Wendy isn't too keen on going on the cruise anyway. All of these factors got me thinking (again, that is usually a scary thing;). Maybe I should just find something fun around the Beach Club area that Wendy and I would enjoy doing. Now in the perfect world the World Showcase would be open and we could just hang out over there. But it doesn't open until 11:00. The other thought I had was we could go hang out at the Beach Club pool, but they don't allow pool hopping (even for us DVC members.) Then I remembered reading a trip report a few years ago about a Pick a Pearl kiosk on the lake by the Beach Club. That would be perfect! And since I wouldn't have to pay for Wendy's cruise I could use that money to do the Pick a Pearl so it actually wouldn't cost me anything. That is some good Disney Math;) So I posted a question on the Beach Club thread and was assured the kiosk is still there. The only thing I don't know is what time it opens. I'm hoping by 10:00. Anyway Wendy would love this and it seems much more relaxing than sprinting over to DHS in the heat, standing in a line, riding a 5 minute ride and sprinting back. I don't think the Pick a Pearl will take the full 2 hours so we'll use the rest of the time to pop over to Boardwalk and explore our home DVC resort which we've never actually been to.:confused3 I know that is crazy, but we're staying there in January. I guess we could even take our swimsuits and try out that clown slide (we're DVC members so pool hopping is legal.) Anyway, this sounds like a more realistic option and much more relaxing. What do you all think?

I like that plan.:thumbsup2 It does sound more relaxing. I think Wendy would LOVE doing the pick a pearl. It will be a nice keepsake for her also. Exploring resorts is one of my favorite things to do.

Although I love RnRC, I like this mother/daughter plan. It sounds so much more relaxing. I could wonder around the 3 big resorts all morning. You could check out all the gift shops!!!

You are so much more organized than me. I need to get busy!!

The new plan definitely sounds more relaxing!!!:thumbsup2 Plus you'll get some mother/daughter time so that's great! I've never done the pick a pearl before....but it sounds fun!! I'm sure Wendy will love it!:goodvibes

Yeah, I don't know about the line for RNRC. Sometimes it's not so bad and other times it gets crazy even early in the morning. I think your alternate plan sounds like fun...something you don't always do too.

I like the mother-daughter idea!
Hooray for ADRs!

Amanda

PS My brother lives in a small-ish flat in London so we'd have to stay in a hotel anyway....

I gave my mom a gift certificate for pick-a-pearl (in Epcot, but still) for her birthday/mother's day. I think it sounds great, and I'm sure Wendy will like it as well. I'd just like a couple of hours to hang around the Epcot resort area...we've never done it. I think you guys will have a great time. She can really take time and talk to you about the cruise that way, too, without her little brothers interrupting , as little brothers tend to do.

I like your revised Day 8 Plans--I think they are much more achievable and relaxing!

Look at that! It appears to be unanimous (I know that is spelled wrong)! Everyone loves the more relaxing mother/daughter version. That is what I'm definitely going to go with! Thanks for all of your input. You really helped me to see how fun this will be. I'm not going to cancel Wendy's spot at the Cruise just yet. I'm thinking my SIL my want to send my nephew on it, so I'll hold her spot for now. Then when my SIL's plan is more firmed up I'll cancel if need be.

Sounds like a great plan, pick a pearl is so much fun and wandering around the Boardwalk too, you should get something yummy from the bakery as well :goodvibes

I think your revised plans sound great, and I like the idea that Stefy suggested about getting something from the Boardwalk Bakery! :thumbsup2

I just found your PTR this morning. I followed your trip report last summer at the BC. Loved it!!!! Looking forward to your June trip. We are going to Disney in August. Not the beach club liked I hoped, but CBR will be great. :)

Sounds great!
Thanks! I think it's definitely a better plan.

Wendy will love pick a pearl. I just hope it's open that early. And we may stop by the bakery. Just for something little though. Don't want to spoil that Tutto lunch.

Everyone seems to agree this is a much better plan. And I'm definitely consider Stefy's idea:goodvibes
