I'm on the boards here gearing up for my first trip to disneyland... but I know at WDW they also had something similar for My Little Pony. Since I'm a grown up boy, I didn't check that out.

Do it! I'm even thinking of doing a Potato Head scrapbook page in my Disneyland scrapbook.:upsidedow

Okay, so I did it! I love my Potato Head(s)!!

You'll notice that I have dupes of some stuff & I don't have a whole complete person (so embarrassing)... please ignore that because I was such in a rush when my boyfriend bought it for me!

My Father-Son duo Potato Heads who are ready to go to DL ! :goodvibes

This is my favorite :)

Darth Vader with Mickey Mouse shoes

So, trodrigue asked about how much stuff you can fit in the big Potato Head.

PotatoHead2.jpg

You can see the empty spaces within him.
Keep in mind that I do have the Darth Vader accessories on my lil one.

PotatoHead5.jpg

That's how much I put in him, excluding Darth Vader & MM shoes.
There are plenty of little accessories within my small Potato Head.

oOh Potato Heads!! They're GREAT. I'm planning to get more in October so my brother, TheAXIOM can choose what he wants too :woohoo:

Does anyone know if I can exchange my dupes accessories if I have the receipt? (I doubt it but it's worth a try)

Make sure that when you guys go in October, you get the Halloween Mickey Ears Trick or Treat bag add-on for Mr. Potato Head. They have another Halloween accessory too but can't recall what it is. Or get it for 99 cents on eBay, which may be easier! And then you HAVE to go back in December to get the holiday add ons like the Santa Mickey ears and the Christmas tree with little mouse icons on it. The fun is endless for Mr. Potato Head!

Another tip for getting the most for your Potato is to have a CM pack the box for you. They are very clever and skilled at being able to squeeze in a lot of stuff because they know the guests want ALL the accessories. So if you leave OUT the body/head (because you get that at any toy store) and let the CM pack the parts for you, you will get a lot of Tater-age for your buck!

Great idea. I always feel like I'm bugging them if I do that =T Oh well. Sherry E, you're making me want to go EVERY SEASON just for the Potato Head accessories!! My family is going to go nutsssss :rotfl:

Good to know, thanks for posting this. I always visit DL in October & December,(thanks to having an annual pass) and now I can get those parts! :dance3:
Soooo....not only does my annual pass feed my Disney addiction, it feeds my potato head addiction. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

When I was there in December, the CM who rang me up was helping to pack the box a little until he got distracted with some unruly child. But they will do it if asked. It is so great to NOT have to get the body of Mr. Potato and just stuff the box with parts. Anyway, the CM was talking to me about how that was the first year in DL that he recalled seeing the Christmas attachments (I think WDW had them before DL did), but that he could see that the holiday possibilities were numerous. He didn't know for sure that Disney would do this, but he could envision an Easter basket for Mr. Potato, a Valentine candy box or flowers, bunny ears, a shamrock or leprechaun hat, a New Year's noisemaker and shimmery hat, etc. If they didn't do that this year, I am SURE they will jump on that for next year. They MAY even have NEW holiday parts in October and December this year - you never know!

I got my Mickey Ears Trick or Treat bag for Potato on eBay last year. The lady was selling them for 99 cents and she had a bunch of them for sale, but it took too long to arrive. The Christmas add-ons I got at the Gag factory in ToonTown. One of my friends snorted at me when I said I wanted to get Potato parts, as though I was mentally ill. Then, she went in the store and saw the display and said, "Eighteen dollars for all those parts! That's a great deal!" And before you know it, she was stuffing attachments into that blue box like there was no tomorrow! Neither one of us bought the body/head - those are easy to find in any toy shop. It was all about the attachments!

See, the Disney Magic takes hold of even the most cynical guests! It is like a spell is cast upon them and they can't help themselves!

Yes, you are killing two addictions with one stone...or pass. Disneyland is a dangerous place. People start buying things in there that they probably would not be buying in 'real life.' I always find my self wide-eyed with glee over all the 'stuff' I think I want! I end up eating like I never eat in normal life, and buying things that I wouldn't be thnking about if not for DL. I never think about Mr. Potato Head on a day to day basis, but when I am in DL, I suddenly NEED to see what new accessories he has! Not only for the holidays, but I am wondering if there are any new Toy Story-related things because of TSMM.

My kids and I have a ton of Potato Head parts from WDW and DL. Its one of our favorite souvenirs!

One thing: don't let a CM try to tell you that you must buy a potato with the parts. One CM at DHS tried to tell me that, and I insisted (politely!!!) that I didn't. I finally convinced her to ask another CM (I was trying to be nice and didn't want to be all "Let me talk to your supervisor!!!!!!!!") and he informed her that the potato was not mandatory. But she was not going to let me buy the parts without the potato.

2. BUY THE ARMS! Some of the pieces can't fit in the standard arms, so you need the special arms from Disney.

And be sure you buy matching numbers of left and right arms, b/c they are different from each other.

Ooops! Uh-oh. I had better check the arms I got last year! We were all (there were three of us adults and someone else's child) grasping at Potato parts in the bins like they were nuggets of gold, and trying to stuff the blue boxes as quickly as possible. If my friends were standing closer to a part that I wanted and could not reach, they would hand it over to me, and I would do the same for them. I don't think any of us looked at the arms to determine if they were left or right! I will have to check before I go to DLR next, just in case I have to get some more arms! Can't have Mr. Potato Head being an amputee!

I've heard the kids can get a little scrappy with the Potato Head pieces in DCA...

Make sure you pay attention to what you're getting, though.
My sister came back from her last DL trip and she brought back like 4 right arms and no lefties :P.

Awww, love the pictures of the Disney accessories! I'm excited to get a box of Potato stuff in September. We already have the giant head--it was a gift and I think it came from Costco a few years ago. I think I'm going to bring a regular size head with us and then the little ones can play with the new accessories while we're at the hotel.

That is SO true. Be sure to PAY ATTENTION to what you're getting and not be in a rush !! :lmao:

I love Potato Heads :)
