Mr Potato Head tip?

Just wanted to let everyone know that they have the Potoato Head Section at the Pop Century Gift Shop. I was tempted but I didn't do it.

But they don't have everything so I'd just go to the Toy Store in DTD.

I have not been back to WDW since Once Upon a Toy store opened. My DH has gotten me the themepark monopoly, haunted mansion clue and some add on pieces for my monorail as christmas presents that past few years. But I have been dreaming about Potato parts ever since then. Well I just hit that jackpot! We are taking our 2 nieces this trip so it will be 4 of us. I was at a thrift store this afternoon and got 4 Mr Potato Heads with a descent amount of parts for $1.00. That is $1 total for all 4!! Now I won't feel so foolish buying 3 boxes of parts (DH & I will share). I just can't wait!!

Can't believe noone else has mentioned this!

At Once Upon a Toy, in addition to the "stuff the box" section, if you look on the left wall there is a section of pre-boxed Mr. Potato Head toys....all sorts of different sets.

WELL...there are accessory sets for AdventureLand and FrontierLand! They're SO cool! AdventureLand set turns the ols spud into a pirate with peg leg, sword, hook, parrot on shoulder, pirate hat, eye patch, and one silver earring! FrontierLand set turns him into a cowboy: cowboy boots, hat, gunbelt, sheriff's badge, etc. They're SO cute! My DS loves Mr. Potato Head, so we had to do both sets, as well as the stuff-the-box, but didn't put in any potatoes since we already have some at home.

MIL says she saw the AdventureLand set in the giftshop where you exit from POC at MK, but since my kids don't do shops, I never saw them. Would assume the FrontierLand set can be found somewhere in the park, but haven't heard where.

Oh....each accessory set comes in a small box....about 6 x 6 x 3"... and each set was $6.00.

Have fun looking for them!

I can't wait to do this in April! Do the prepackaged set come withthe head??

We did this a DTD this past summer. The CM at the check was VERY strict - we stuffed our box but she said that the top part had to fold down flat to close. I kinda questioned that because the box looks like it is designed to close as a "tent top". We had to take a few items out to close the top flat.

We still play with our Mr. Potato Head. We also got the theme add ons from Adventure Land and Frontier Land.

It must have been another thread where I mentioned this. I really didn't think the price was very good on the preboxed sets, but I guess if you want them all, it would be good for you. I was disappointed that they didn't add those parts to the stuff a box.

No, not at that price! They're more of an add-on set. Very cute, though, and worth it for my DS who loves Mr. Potato Head, and for DD, 3, who now begs to go back every day. We get out the WDW toys to play with :)

The Potato Heads box sounds like a great idea. I'm curious now about the Lincoln Logs.... how many pieces can you fit in a box? and can you get them anywhere else besides DTD?

The peices are all different sizes, so it just depends on how good you pack 'em in. I haven't noticed those anywhere else but DTD, but then, I wasn't looking : )

I was able to fit enough Lincoln Logs in my box to make a large cabin AND a small cabin. I got a nice CM who helped me make the most efficient use of space. I now have two cabins in the miniature forest on my mantel, along with a small Disney totem pole that I got from the gift shop at WL. (The rest of my forest consists of small artificial Christmas trees and plastic bears and moose.)

We packed a box of Mr. Potato Head parts for 4yo DD to take as a gift to her preschool class. They already have the heads. I didn't get individual gifts for the teachers or the kids; they can all share the Spud parts! Unfortunately, we have either been snowed in or DD has been sick since we've been back, so we haven't given it to them yet.

I asked Santa Claus for a DTD Mr. Potato Head for Christmas, and I got it.

It's sitting on top of my tv. He's wearing the Mickey ears, Mickey sunglasses, Mickey ice cream and a Mickey balloon, sitting in the teacup ride.

Did I mention that I'm 25 years old? :)

I got mine at mouse gears in epcot. I had to get the head as we don't have one and I wanted DD to be able to play with it in the room right away. I can't believe how much "stuff" I was able to cram into the head and the box. Plenty of spare parts. I'm at Disney Quest now, and will zip over to Once Upon a Toy in a little bit to check out the other stuff. The boys like lincoln logs, but I don't know how much more I can fit in my luggage. I have done way too much shopping already! lol

Can anyone report on the fill-a-box of Legos at the DTD Lego store? I completely missed that on my August trip and just read about it in a trip report. Apparently the Legos are unusual colors like lime and magenta? Anything else special about them?

I saw them and they are "regular" legos, but you get to choose the size and color that you want. Sorry, I didn't notice the price. They definitely had LOTS of colors though!

We are just back and my DDs picked out a ton of potato head pieces...I would like to know how to use the Guest of Honor piece and the ticket piece...I am not sure how to attach them...I am wondering if DDs forgot to pick up something that was needed to use them.

I've not seen those. Were they in the bin for the full size, or meant for the small ones they now have? Darn, I may have to go back again LOL.

They were for the full sized potato head.

We got two boxes of potato head parts....one for each DD...here is the list of stuff we got:

1 pair Mickey Mouse shoes
1 pair of glass slippers
1 pair of bunny slippers
1 pair of sandles
1 pair of sneakers
3 Sorcerer Mickey Hats
1 Animal Kingdom Mickey Pith Hat
1 Santa Hat with Mickkey Ears
1 Groom Hat with Mickey Ears
1 Bride Hat with Mickey Ears
1 Princess Hat with Mickey Ears
2 sets of Mickey Ears
1 hat that looks like a folder paper hat
1 firefighter hat
5 right arms
6 left arms
5 tounges (we have lost all our tonges for the Potato Heads we have at home so we got them to replace the missing ones)
1 guitar
4 Mickey Head Ice Creams
2 Mickey Head glasses
1 teacup
4 ears
1 Minnie Bow
2 bow tie
4 Guest of Honor Pins
2 Mickey Balloons
4 autograph books
4 yellow earrings
2 yellow noses
1 red noses
1 teeth with lips
1 just teeth
2 Mrs. Potato Head eyes
1 suitcase
1 firey eyebrow eyes
1 normal eyes
1 black wig
1 moustash
1 teddy bear
1 Princess Wand
3 Disney Park Tickets
3 Flowers

It looks like the part tickets, the flowers and the Guest of honor pins might attach to something my girls didn't pick up....but I don't know what it might be.

Where did you get your parts? They've added a lot of pieces since I was there in Nov and Dec!! We didn't see Mickey shoes (even asked for them...told they didn't carry any), princess wands, pith hat, santa hat, bride and groom hats, guitar, Minnie bow, guest of honor badges, park tickets, suitcase, or teddy bear!! Looks like we need to plan a return trip, as DS loves Potato Head!!

The flower, we do have. It attaches to a hat that is embossed with flowers...just can't remember right now whether it's red, white, or yellow! If it's the one we have, there are 2 prongs on the back of the flower (like a small electrical plug) and they go on either side of a knob on the front of the hat to attach it. We also have a sheriff's badge that attaches to a knob on the gunbelt (those are in the Fronteirland box set.) There was also an Adventureland box set.

Hmmm....now where could those park tickets and guest of honor attach? Can the park tickets fit on the hands somehow?

Oh, I'm jealous! They didn't have any of those parts when I went there in January. We won't be going back for a couple years. Anyone going soon?

My Mr. Potato Head is in my office at the college. Students love to change his looks. I'll have to check out the new pieces! Sounds like a lot of fun ahead.
