Mr. Disney & Kevin lunch with the Princesses in Norway!

Your timing is great for me and my family as we have ADR's next week for Storybook Princess lunch. Thanks for taking the time to post and for including pictures for us to get a better feel for the whole experience.

The food choices have me flip-flopping on the whole thing and we will have a DD7 and a DS3.... The princesses can be found in other places for my DD6 I would guess... (We also have breakfast at the castle so maybe that is enough?) OK I'm rambling...

Ha ha ha! :rotfl2:

I already know we don't like the food at Akershus, I already know DS doesn't like to dine with princesses (because I made him go to lunch at CRT in October), so I already know I don't need an ADR for this in August.

BUT this review was so much FUN! :teeth:

Let me know when ADRs are available for the "Mr. Disney & Kevin Character Meal Extraordinaire" because we don't want to miss that one!

I just realized (I may be a little slow!! lol) I'm a MisterDisney groupie!!

When are you noshing around the world next???

Thanks for sharing the entertainment!! And I love the YaY toast splained!!

drats again I miss it by a week - you must know something we dont, we travel value season!!

Thanks again Mr. Disney for the great review of the lunch with the Princesses.
I think i went there for dinner many years ago when it was just the buffet and no characters. Now i know what to order on the menu if i decide to go there . :goodvibes

Loved the review and pictures! :)

What is the rice cream? Rice and vanilla ice cream? Or something else?

Thanks again Mister Disney for another faboulus review. We need more reviews faster. I think you should have a regular job at Disney just doing restaurant reviews. That way we would have a new one every week. :)

Thanks for the review and the photos! :thumbsup2

We have ADR's for lunch in October so one little princess can meet all her favourite Disney princesses! princess: She really wanted to go back to CRT but DH was refusing (been there, done that!) and what with the price increases over there, I decided on Akershus (there's no escaping those princess meals for my DH!)

We're used to Norwegian food (we visit relatives in Norway) so I'm looking forward to the flat bread, goat's cheese and kjottkakker! :goodvibes

I'll probably finish my meal off with a trip to the shops in Norway for some milk chocolate - yummy! :teeth:

This was a wonderful review... and almost ties with the picture of Kevin and the applesauce for hilarity level! I must say, I am another Mr. Disney and Kevin groupie, I certainly hope our paths intersect while at Disney sometime.

We love rice cream. It's a type of rice pudding with a strawberry sauce on top. Here's the recipe for it from AllEarsNet:
YIELD: 10 servings

Ingredients:

1 pound short-grain white rice (not instant)
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups water
4 cups milk

2 cups heavy cream
4 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Strawberry sauce:

2 cups strawberry preserves
1 cup water
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method:

1. Cook rice with water and salt for 15 minutes, covered. Add milk and cook for 30 minutes or until rice is tender and the mixture is thick. Chill rice in the refrigerator.

2. Whip cream and sugar and vanilla. Gently fold whipped cream into chilled rice. Set aside in refrigerator.

3. Place sauce ingredients in the work bowl of a blender. Mix until combined.

4. Spoon rice mixture into serving cups. Garnish with strawberry sauce.

Thanks for another wonderful review. Having married into a family all from MN and having lived there for several years I have had my fill of pickled fish and other disgusting foods, however lefse (flatbread) YUM. Was there any butter and sugar for on the lefse, this is how it has always been served to me before. I loved the review but think I will pass on this meal. The food does not appeal to me and I have a boy (although every time we go to the shoe department he seems drawn to those patent leather shoes) who insists he does not like princesses, or barbies, or girls or anything else his mommy would love. (although every time we go to the shoe department he seems drawn to the patent leather shoes, especially any red ones) I have heard that the atmosphere in Akerhaus is attractive, could you comment on that?? Thanks again for all the laughs :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks for the review Mister Disney. I personally think you and Kevin should write the Disney World Dining Guide, it would be far more entertaining (and useful even) than the one I have. I hope to run into you guys sometime at WDW, you know ALL the best places to eat and have fun!

She graciously came up to our table when it was our turn and greated us and asked us if we would like our picture taken with her. I felt like saying "Do you know who you are talking to? You should be asking to have your picture taken with me, Mister Disney of the DIS Board!"
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

i have not been around on the boards for long, but i could tell early on that you are truly royalty!!! Miss Cindy better have been honored!! :smooth: thanks for your great reviews!! p.s. i will be in the world in oct., i'll see what i can do with my schedule. :)

Mr. Disney, I, too, would be interested in the atmosphere. Besides the presence of so many princesses, did it feel like you were dining in a castle in Norway? How does it compare to CRT as far as theming & atmosphere?
