We got our little packet a couple of days ago--yea! I'm waiting until after Christmas to get serious about the FE exchange, to see if we get any last minute joiners and to make my plan. Though I should get a general idea so I can go shopping right after Christmas, shouldn't I.

We got ours today! Made pillowcases for DD and nieces yesterday, and looked through hundreds of graphics for door magnets. Now if I could just make that Fish Extender work out!

Are you making one? I gave up and am using a draw-string backpack. It will be less enticing for people to steal!

Well I got some reusable gift bags that seem to be the perfect size, but I need to figure a way to string them together, so they look right. I was trying for inexpensive and easy, but the easy part is not working out! LOL

Believe it or not, I am a little jealous! All the snow has been going south of us this year. It's looking like a brown Christmas for us

Kids just went to bed--I'm filling the stockings and getting ready to snuggle into bed as well. It's been very frosty here in San Diego in the evenings--in the low 40's with frost. I know that's not very cold for some of you, but for us....brrrrr!! I still wore sandals to dinner, though! Merry Christmas--hope you all are having a wonderful weekend with family and friends. Also, sorry I have been absentee. I just had to change houses before Christmas, and then Christmas, my Mother in Law arrives today for a visit. I don't think I will get it together to do the FE. Sorry. There is still a chance. My sons would like passing them out. I could probably get the gifts in time, but I don't think I can find everything to make a decent actual FE holder/ bag. Unfortunately, I do not have a Michael's down the street and my sewing machine stayed in USA storage.

I am off the next week from work, so I will be in Cruise overdrive!
I think some of the MR cruises stop in different ports, but it depends on the safety of the port at a given time. From what I read on these boards, Disney feels Mazatlan is not safe at this time.
JJMama-- we are just using inexpensive gift bags with Disney charcters on them for fish extenders. As long at it is something that will hold the surprises, I don't think it has to be anything fancy. It should be about the fun of giving and receiving, not about how fancy the FE is. That's my opinion anyway! But I do understand about it being stressful--just have fun!

Yes, I gave up on the idea of a fancy FE--I'm not crafty enough, and they can be expensive. So we're just using a draw string fabric backpack--not very attractive, but I had it and it's done!

Have we figured out or discussed if we are doing family gifts or a gift for each person for the FEs? I want to get started on purchasing some things but I am not quite sure wher to start.

I feel everyone should just do what they want. Some people like to go all out and some like to keep it simple, some people have more time or money than others and some people are more crafty. It should be fun and not stressful.

I agree. For myself, I'm planning on giving a bag of items with a little something that most anyone would be able to use--nothing elaborate, but hopefully fun.

Unless someone adds at the last minute we have 8 familes (9 if we count ourselves). That's not too crazy, I don't think!

I agree.It should just be whatever you are able to do! I have had fun getting my stuff lined out and have had good help from KSprairiegal and 3 brinleys!! I am almost done with my stuff, but these after Christmas sales are really tempting me!! My stuff is not that crafty, but lets people know what we are all about!! I am super excited about this trip. It is cold and our 10 inches of snow is melting and making everything dirty! I am ready for some white sandy beaches!! Today I worked on pirate costumes and I am pretty sure my husband thinks I have lost my mind!

Ditto with the above posts! It should be fun, and what you are able to do! I did have one question though...Will we be assigned a day, so that there are things arriving all through the week? Or do we just deliver when we can, and it works itself out?

I think we should just let everyone pick their own day/days and time/times. In past swaps I've participated in it did just seem to work out.

I am wondering if anyone is going to try and upgrade thus changing their stateroom # and how will we work that out? Should we try to have a meet after boarding to confirm? In the past swaps it wasn't a problem but I have read that it sometimes happens.

I'm not trying to upgrade, but I would be willing to do a quick meet to confirm. Do people ever write their stateroom #s on the gifts they deliver along with their names? That way people could double check before they deliver them.
