This is my first atempt at a trip report, so bear with me. I by no means am a writer, and I tend to make frequent typos!!!!

CAST
Mr. BigAl-My hubby of almost 2 years. Very Pooh-like!!(Shrek too)
Mrs. BigAl-Disney fan and Bday girl on this trip.(Oct. 15)

We were in San Diego for 3 days before out time in the Happiest Place on Earth. It was beautiful!! Zoo and SeaWorld were great. If you want to hear about that, just ask. Now on to the good stuff.

Friday Oct. 14
After a drive that seemed to take forever from SD we arrived in Annaheim around 4pm. Wow!!! I thought living off US23 North of Ann Arbor was bad. Dh kept his road rage to a minimum. I had to remind him that we were going to the Happiest Place on Earth. Grumpy and Eeyore are the only ones allowed to be grumpy in DL.

We stayed at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel. It looked like it could use a good paint job and some new carpet. We had room 309 on the first floor towards the back of the hotel. It felt just like a Best Western. I got it pretty cheap off Expedia so wasn't expecting the Ritz. The Jacuzzi was pretty small and the jets were pretty weak. The pool was alright, we always seem to have it to ourselves.

Around 8 after a nap, shower and some grub at Carrrows, we walked to the park. The walk wasn't that bad. (Ask me again on Day 3) Exchanged our Citypasses for real tickets. Off to DL hand in hand. Had a tough time getting down Main Street. I am sure you have heard of all the ppl that were there. We were on a mission!!!

First ride was POTC. Ienjoyed this one better than the WDW one. That first drop is great. "We want the Redhead." Next we were off to see Sandy Claws at HM. I loved the decorations. DH is now a fan of Oogie. We waited about 45 minutes. Longest wait of the night at 45 minutes. Next was Indiana Jones. Sorry, but I looked into the eyes of the Idol. We escaped unharmed though. Loved this ride. DH adapted the name of Dr. Jones and I was Short Round(Temple of Doom is my fave). This was a journey we were to take often. By this time Fantasmic was einding down and the fireworks werea about to start. There was no line for the Jungle cruise. So we hopped right on. We had Skipper Steve. He was great. He was tryingt o get us to reveal our most embarassing moments while we waited for others to join. We will try this ride again in the daylight. Love those Hippos!!

We mosied over to Splash. Guess what. Log jam. No Splash for us this evening. We made our way over to Buzz. Waited about 30 mins. Dh kicked my butt. We were L3's. Gotta work on that. Next stop Matterhorn Bobsleds. We each got our own seats. DH is called Big Al for a reason. lol I think the Bobsleds could use a bit more padding. Sorry if anybody witnessed me rubbing my butt after I got off the ride. We caught the 80's Allstars while waiting in line to get a soda and moon shaped rice krispie treat. Yummy! They were great and very energetic. Dh was even singing along. It was about 11:20 so we headed back to the hotel. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. My 26th bday!!! Gonna go finish unpacking and will continue this story later today. The rest of the report is in this same thread. Just scrool down for more.

Day 2 Oct. 15- My birthday.

We hit the breakfast buffett at the hotel. We made it to the park around 9. We went to City Hall to get my birthday sticker. I felt so special, because Goofy called to wish me a Happy Birthday. How did he know? lol

I had to go and get some Golden Mickey ears! You aren't cool unless you get your own pair. jk We headed over to Fantasyland. Waited and waited in line for Peter Pan. Very cute ride, but think I will ride it again when I am a mommy. At this point Fantasyland was crazy. Quick get me outta here. Off to Tomorrowland. I had to have a rematch on Buzz. DH once again beat me at Buzz. Our photos are hilarious, we looked so serious.

Next we felt it was time for an adventure. Indy was calling us again. The wait time said 30 minutes. No prob, we could do it. Again, I looked into the eyes of the idol. It's just so enticing. lol Walked by pirates and the line ws moving pretty swiftly. We had to ride it, after all it was my birthday. While we were departing DH mentioned that it would be cool to eat at Blue Bayou. Apparently he has not listened to any of the plans I had made. We had reservations at 6:30. Silly man. We were getting a bit claustrophobic from all the crowds. Did a bit of shopping. I bought my very first lanyard (blue DL resort) and pin (stitch in hula skirt) We decide to try DCA.

Do my eyes decieve me????? California Screaming is running!!! But first must go see how tuff it really is to be a bug. When we went to WDW I loved this show. I love the part when you get stung!! So cute. DH was getting a bit grumpy as it was now past feeding time. We grabbed a bite to eat at Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill. Dh had pork nachos and I had fish tacos. They were tasty, but I was looking forward to dinner. For some reason I thought it would be a great idea to ride screaming after eating. Got to digest while waiting about 25 minutes to ride. This is a great ride. I am glad we got a chance to ride it. The takeoff is so sweet. We did some more shopping, as I was now addicted to finding the right pin. DH needed to have a seat, so I thought ok we can ride the Sunwheel. This was the longest wait of the day. We got one of the moving gondolas. For some reason this made both of our tummies a bit woozy. I knew just the cure... Ice Cream. I forgot the name of the place but I had Butter Pecan swirl and he had Grape swirl. I felt like a traitor since I work at DQ. shhh.... don't tell. lol The time was now about 3:45. Quick hubby pick up your feet, Aladdin starts at 4:15. He wasn't really excited about this. But it was MY birthday. He ended up loving it. Genie is wicked funny. For the rest of the day we were singing "Jafar is bananas" and "Drop it like its hot". After Aladdin DCA decide to throw a Block Party for my birthday. That was so sweet of them. :sunny: We got a great spot for the party. We loved the Block Party. Since DH is mostly familiar with the Pixar movies he totally dug it. The float with the Monster crew stopped right in front of us. Sully was shaking it like a polaroid picture.

We headed back to to DL for our dinner. we took a nice train ride around the park to kill some time. Checked in at Ble Bayou and was seated right away. This place is absolutely wonderful. It was nice and romantic as my bday also fell on Sweetest Day. We had two servers as one of them was on break. We both had the Veggie gumbo which was yummy. DH had the prime rib and I had crab cakes. The crab cakes were great, Dh said the Prime Rib was great as well. Four servers came out with some chocolate mousse and sang Happy Birthday to me. It was a wonderful way to end a wonderful meal. Those dubloons are soo addicting. I had to eat them all before they melted.

We had to go get my Sweetest day gift. We went to BuildABear to make a new furry friend to go with the other furry friends at home. Wow this place was crazy!! It was like waiting in line for one of the rides. I am now the owner of my very own Mulan bear!!! She's helping me type this report.

We had a date with Peter and Sergio(boxers from The Contender reality show). We made our way through to ESPNzone to watch the Contender rematches. Both DH and I are huge fans of the the show. You can really go broke buying beer at this place. I wasn't paying since it was my birthday. lol The fights didn't go as well as I had hoped. I think the judges were bribed. jk Espn zone is a fun place. I liked this one better than the Vegas one. Our night was coming to an end. I had a wonderful birthday. Many CM's wished me a Happy Birthdy and I felt so special. Day 3 will be posted soon.

So glad you had a Happy Birthday !I'm looking forward to the rest of your report.
Perhaps you want to edit your thread title to let people know to scroll down for part 2.

GREAT REPORT! Sounds like it was a little crowded, but not so crowded that you couldn't enjoy yourselves. I hope it's like that when we go Dec.4th - 9th. DH and I don't mind waiting in line for rides, attractions, food, or whatever, but our two little guys (ages 6 and 2) definately don't have the patience for long lines and wall-to-wall people. So glad you had such a wonderful time and HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! :cool1:
