Best route??

I know I have to go through Nashville and down through Atlanta but how should I get to Nashville??

I can go to Chicago (traffic) to Indianapolis and then Nashville

or I can go straight through Illinois??

We ae towing a pop up trailer and want the fastest route.

I haven't driven to WDW in years, but the route we used to take was Chicago to Indianapolis to Nashville. Let me emphasize this was many years ago. Just this summer we went around Chicago to get to Ohio. Rush hour there is soooo much worse than anything in Minneapolis. Even going around Chicago on a sunday afternoon was like crawling. Just something to think about.

Hi, we drove to WDW from near Rochester Minnesota last February. We took I 90, bypassed Chicago (I think it was I 290 to I 294) and headed south through Indiana on I 65. Because it was a Saturday afternnon when we reached Indianapolis, we didn't bother to take the by-pass around it, since the traffic just wasn't very bad.

We also didn't bother to use the by-passes around Louisville or Nashville for the same reason. It was actually easier to drive right through those cities because all of the trucks used the by-passes. We stopped for the first night south of Nasville (didn't want to drive through the mountains when we were tired and it was dark).

We continued on I 65 until Nashville, when we switched over to I 24 which we stayed on until we switched to I 75 south of Chattanooga. Again, we didn't by-pass Atlanta since it was Sunday mid morning or so when we reached it. My spouse said that everyone in Atlanta drives 80 plus miles an hour, and it was kind of frightening, as you had to go with the flow and it was pretty fast.

We stayed on I 75 until we got near WDW and then switched to Highway 27 to 192 to WDW. We arrived late afternoon at WDW.

Have a wonderful trip!
