Merry Christmas! My DD9 got a new MP3 player and we have no idea where to get music and what to do!:confused3

Anyone know where we can download music SAFELY???

Any hints or tips with this thing???

TIA

We used to always download from Walmart.com I liked it because the songs were censored a bit for the girls when they were younger.

We just use Itunes now.

Don't use limewire, if it is still around

Good question! I got one yesterday too and have no idea how to down load music? I just don't want to do things that will get me in trouble with the law, if you know what I mean.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but, can you still use Itunes even if you have an MP3 player and not an IPOD. How do you down load music and how much does it cost?:confused3

I have NO idea how to use this thing!!! I am trying to download a cd to her mp3 player and it is not working!!!! Oh I wish I understood new technology!!!:lmao:

Some help??

Also, it looks like walmart would be the safest but I still need to know how to download anything onto this thing!!

YOu have to download the file, Music, movie to your computer. Then you upload it to your Ipod, M3.

Best to pay for the songs then you are not going to get in trouble with the law.

Itunes is for Ipods only.

If you have CDs you can convert them to MP3 format and then transfer to your player.

Ok - what BRAND of MP3 player did she get?

If she got an iPod, use iTunes.

If she got a Zune, use the Zune software.

If she got an MP3 player that says you can use Windows Media Player, by all means use Media Player.

If all else fails, RTFM (Read The Fine Manual)

I use www.mp3fiesta.com

Songs cost $0.20 each, albums run $2-3 each, and don't expire. I have a Sandisk mp3 player.

You have to enter your credit card number online which freaks out a lot of people but I've been using it for about a year and have had no problems. Sound quality is good and the selection of music is good. I highly recommend it.

Enjoy!:dance3:

mp3fiesta is a russian site... Not illegal according to russian laws, but if that site was based in the US it would have been shut down from day one.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's wrong with that? Why would it be banned if it was in the US?

The Russian website directly violates the applicable copyrights. They are making available copies of the music without permission from the copyright owner, and without providing appropriate compensation. Several WTO and WIPO treaties guarantee the applicability of copyrights internationally, and Russia is a signatory to those treaties. Therefore, the copyright laws apply within Russia, despite the fact that Russia neglects to adequately enforce the copyrights, contravening international law.

So effectively, by purchasing on that Russian website, you are participating in a violation of the law, rewarding law-breakers by giving them your money, opening your credit accouts up to whatever abuse such law-breakers may eventually use your personal information for, and perhaps most troubling, you're depriving the artists who's work you allegedly regard positively credit for the good work they've done.

Kinda like buying a stolen laptop, yes you paid for it... you just did not pay the rightful owner.

If you are going to download from this Russian site, may as well download from a Chinese website for free. Either way the artist and record companies do not get anything for their work.

You can buy legally from amazon. Most songs cost less than a dollar.

If the manual seems like a foreign language, you can call their tech help number. It should be in there someplace :goodvibes

Why not use limewire? Just wondering.:confused3 The people at best buy told me about this site and mentioned a couple others also.

In my experience, some of the files available for download on Limewire have a tendency to be riddled with viruses and/or spyware.

This is what I have been told also.

A few months back they were talking on the news about attempting to track those who have used limewire. I not exactly the most tech savvy, so I don't know if/how this is possible, but really don't want to take the chance.

I have ordered from several Russian sites in the past. Since they come/go and get shut down quite often, it's pretty obvious that they are not on the up and up.
