Moving?

I was just wondering how would you go about moving to England or Australia? What types of stuff would you have to consider? Like are there legal forms and such?

Why do you want to move? Just asking because I don't think you can just willy nilly decide to move there and do it. I think you have to apply just like someone coming into the US would have to do.

I suppose you would have to check their immigration laws. Where in England are you thinking about? I ask this because I have a lot of family that live there and it is very expensive.

I want to move there for maybe a few years or so, just to say i have. Because I love you travel and I've always wanted to go to england. Thats what I would like to know what forms I would have to go through and fill out and all that. Where can I find the Immigrantion laws?

don't know how it is now, but years ago when i looked into austrailia it was pretty tough to move there. you had to have a guaranteed job lined up, and then that job had to have gone through a process between the employer and the gov. to ensure that it was'nt highly probable that an existing aussie citizen could fill it. they had pretty strict stuff in place to ensure that their existing citizens were'nt disadvantaged job wise by immigrants (even if they were'nt going to apply for citizenship and only planned to stay up to a few years).

most countries have set criteria on how long you can visit and and be considered a 'tourist', then there are additional time limits on how long you can be there under 'student' status (and i believe you have to prove up front of acceptance into an institution of learning). some countries if you claim that you have funds such that you would be 'self sufficient' and not a draw on the labor market still won't let you do it because they fear you may become a draw on socialized programs (as in those countries with national health plans).

I'm an anglophile and love all things British and have looked into immigrating one day. All countries have different criteria but the UK in particular is quite strict. They want to be quite certain you aren't, or never will be, a burden on their system. Translated: you needs lot's of the green stuff! There are books specifically about relocating to the UK. I would go to the library or go to a bookstore and purchase one. It lays it all out for you. Good luck!
