Looking for any "Mainers" in the crowd. We're transferring to Maine this summer from Nebraska. Dis. Vac. Development can't talk to us here in Nebraska due to license issues, so we're only able to add on through re-sale or while in Orlando. Any restrictions for Maine residents?

Thanks. Looking forward to getting back to "The way life should be..."

Hi I just bought at SSR, this week as a matter of fact. Maine does not have any restrictions pertaining to DVC. Sorry to hear that other states do.

Oh, and welcome to Maine!!

Actually, this will be my 3rd tour in Brunswick. Always nice to come back!

Now if we could only convince Disney and LLBean to do a joint venture... Mickey in the trout pond! Villas at Acadia! How about a film where the main character is a moose?

Sorry to loose you from Nebraska but good luck in Maine. I've had the same trouble with looking at the DVC being from Nebraska but just today I purchased on the re-sale. Good Luck!

First off Welcome to Vactionland (Maine)! We just bought a resale a couple of months ago and had no restrictions. We would also be able to purchase thru disney as well. Good luck!

Like the other posters mentioned - Maine and DVC have a great relationship. There are no restrictions on buying direct from Disney. We've done it many times.

Welcome BACK to Maine neighbor.

We didn't join DVC until we moved into exile here in the Deep South (aka Massachusetts), but as you have seen, there are plenty of DVCers from Maine, many of whom bought directly from DVD. So no sales restrictions for Maine residents as DVC is approved to sell in the Pinetree State.

There is one restriction tho: Mainers are not eligible for referral bonuses from DVC. Fortunately this is not a problem here in Mass. DVC will pay a referral bonus to current DVC members who refer new members to DVC, starting at $200, pre-tax. Only current DVCers in AL, AZ, DE, FL, GA, HI, IL, IA, KS, LA, MD, MA, MS, MO, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, ND, OH, OK, RI, SC, SD, WI and Puerto Rico are able to get the cash bonuses for referring in new members. We have had two referrals in each of the past two years, and I have usually split the cash with the folks whom I referred (had to keep some to cover taxes on the bonus).

Have fun back in my home state. And enjoy the fact that JetBlue now serves the "Portland International Jetport" ( :lmao: I always love spelling out the full name of Portland's little airport :rotfl: ) so nice planes at decent fares will be available to you and your family. Of course you can also trek over to Manchester NH and catch a direct flight on SWA, or down to Boston for even more non-stops, but it's so nice just to hop on at PWM.

Good luck qith the move!

At least one (in my kids' play room)!

I'm serving a "Joint" tour at U.S. Strategic Command at Offutt AFB. Not the traditional Navy "homeport," but we've really enjoyed living here in the Heartland.
