Any ticket
purchased at check-in can be encoded to your resort ID.
...It kinda stinks that I can't put tix that we purchased from a dealer on our resort key, after all, they're the same thing (just cheaper
) ...
They don't discriminate against independent ticket wholesalers.
You can't even get tickets you purchased from Disney by phone or online or from TDS put on the ID.
You pay a premium for the tickets you purchase at the resort. As a perk for paying that premium, you can get the ticket encoded onto your ID.
... I might still just play dumb at check-in, and see what they say (and of course report back with what they tell us)
By all means. Just don't be disappointed when they decline.
