We just bought our park tix from Ticketmania (5 day PHP). It shouldn't be a problem at check in for the front desk of POR to change put the paper passes on our room key, right?

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think they will do that. You will have a key card identifying you as a resort guest but you will still have to use your tickets from Ticketmania. Sorry.

I don't think they will be able to put these on your card. The ones that are on the keys are the UPH tickets, which are length of stay.

I'm sure you can't put your ticket on your key either, when it's purchased seperately.Sorry.

The only tickets that they will encode onto resort ID's are ones that come with WDTC/CRO package deals or ones purchased at check in at the resort. Even tickets purchased in advance from Disney themselves cannot be put on the resort ID.

I'm not sure about switching your ticket to your key... but just wanted to say that it's not just the UPH that can go on your room key. They can put any ticket that you purchase at the resort on it...ie: PH, 1day-1 park ticket, etc. Would be nice if you could purchase tickets ahead of time and then have them put on your room key though.

Last year, we had purchased a 5 day PHP after checking in, and the lady at guest services had no problem putting them on our card. It kinda stinks that I can't put tix that we purchased from a dealer on our resort key, after all, they're the same thing (just cheaper :) ) I might still just play dumb at check-in, and see what they say (and of course report back with what they tell us)

And that can still be done. Any ticket purchased at check-in can be encoded to your resort ID.

They don't discriminate against independent ticket wholesalers.
You can't even get tickets you purchased from Disney by phone or online or from TDS put on the ID.

You pay a premium for the tickets you purchase at the resort. As a perk for paying that premium, you can get the ticket encoded onto your ID.

By all means. Just don't be disappointed when they decline.

Can't ever remember reading that anyone has said they did this (even for tickets purchased ahead through Disney), and the question comes up every few months.

They used to do this, but, no longer.
