Moving Corrals?

I am guessing I will be in the B corral based on the time submitted. Have been there the last 3 disney races with the same time.

This last year has been rough and I am going to be 30-45 minutes slower on this one. Coming off injury I have been using Run-Walk, and it has been great for getting through the distances, but times have fallen.

I usually start in the back of the corral I am in anyways, so do I still start in my assigned corral, or do I move back a couple? Not sure if there is proper etiquette for this, so asking what the norm is.

Thanks in advance!

It's really your call. You will find a couple folks in your corral who in no way are keeping to the B corral pace; or really any pace other than the G corral. I have no idea how these folks move up but there are more than one would expect.

For me, I am moving back one corral for just the same reasons. I would feel the pull of the predominant pace of the corral and end up heading out too fast.

If you stay, just make your self thin for the first few miles. Either way, have a great run....

I am a walker and should be assigned Corral B for the Half and C for the Full, same as 2011 Goofy. Because of a bike crash in April, broken neck and other complications, I now plan to be the last person to start the Half and give encouragement to others as I slowly work my way up to join DW and DD shortly before the finish line.

As far as the Full, this past January I was the last to start in Corral C and depending on how I feel Sunday morning, I'll most likely move back one or two corrals.

Enjoy the race.

This happened to my at Disneyland. I was probably about a corral too far up. The general pace was fast enough for me to do for a while, but too fast for the first couple of miles of a half marathon.

You may want to talk to the people at the Cliff pace team booth to see where the pace team associated with your new time is going to start to get an idea of which corral to start in.
