Has anyone ever gone to see a movie at the theater in DTD?
How is it? Is it expensive.
Is there somewhere that the movies and times posted?

We went one rainy day each trip.It is HUGE compared to home. There are discount coupons in the Entertainment book.It was stadium seating. The kids loved it.We were there for opening night with red carpet for carpool guy and also for a disney one that I forgot the name of with Paul Giamatti and Frankie Munoz.

We see a movie each trip. It is a nice theater with great seats. You can see the show times outside the theater. The theater has 2 entrances, so you can get in quicker. It is very busy on the weekend evenings.

The theater is a HUGE AMC theater. We enjoy going there for a change from our local REGAL. The prices are pretty much the same as other theaters. APs get a discount on tickets after 6pm (aka non matinee tickets). The theaters are very comfortable We did notice that the theater we were in to see Narnia on Christmas day had unusually high seat backs (theater #1 I believe - first on the left)- we had not noticed it before. My DD went out and found herself a booster seat!

Yep, DH and I never go to movies so when it's just the two of us, we love going to the movies at DTD, we might even watch two in a row!!! We enjoy doing allot of the "odd" stuff they have to offer at Disney World when we don't have others to take to the parks. It's so relaxing to do whatever whenever on a Disney vacation.

DH and I went a couple of weeks ago to see Hoodwinked. It was packed but surprisingly it wasn't any more expensive than the movies at home and actually the snacks were cheaper. (than in Philly)

The stadium seating was cool though because we got there right before the show started and had to sit up front but honestly it wasn't bad because the seats were rocker/recliners (don't know how else to describe them) so it was ok sitting in the second row.

If you need a break and it's not a friday or saturday night, I think it really broke up the day and gave us a little time to "cool down".

We love the theater at DTD. Much better than the one we have here so I don't mind paying a little more. There are two theaters, maybe a couple of more, that have three tiers. We took the elevator up to the top of one just so the kids could check it out. Don't know if I would want to watch a movie from there but it was pretty neat.

It has really nice seats and is clean . . . has lots of theatres showing lots of different movies. It's never been too crowded when we were there.

Thanks everyone. Looks like we will go see a movie if we get a rainy day. :umbrella: You all made me so excited about going to see a movie that I'm almost hoping for a rainy day. (well maybe NOT) :rotfl: :sunny: :rotfl:

I also have a question, albiet weird, about the movie theatres. The popcorn that is sold there, is it served with real or fake butter? When I go to see a movie, if I know the theatre only serves the fake stuff like Becel, I ALWAYS pass on the popcorn, I mean movie theatre popcorn HAS to have real butter, lol, it's not popcorn without it!

Thanks,

Jules

I didn't think any movie theater used real butter any more, just the fake stuff. They do have Icees, though.

I love going to movies at this theatre! It was my movie house of choice when I lived in Orlando. The best part is arranging to meet people there. You don't have to decide on a movie beforehand because there's so much playing at so many different times that there's going to be something showing everyone can agree on! I do remember that it was quite expensive even four years ago. I usually compared it to the movie prices in any major city.

Deb, I know that some of the theatres here in Windsor use real butter, it sure beats the icky tasting fake stuff, that's for sure. Thanks for the info tho.

The sound system is amazing. Saw Episode II Attack of the Clones opening night at midnight, it was packed but oh so fun!

Very enjoyable movie experience, also saw the Incredibles opening night all the way on the top floor.

AWESOME!!! :cool1:

This is our theater of choice (we are Orlando locals), and they offer many discounts, just ask. They have the "Twilight Matinée" discount, Disney Cast Member, Annual Passholder, Student, and Senior. You can also pre-purchase the Gold or Silver AMC Tickets (sometimes on ebay) and also don't forget to sign up for your AMC Entertainment Card.
