I am one of those who love the movie following the boat ride on the Maelstrom in Norway. However, for the past few years, I've heard rumors they're changing the movie, or shutting it down. Anyone been lately? Has this happened? Thanks!

When we visited the last week in Sept '05, we were going to walk out of the movie; however, so many others were doing the samething, so we stayed and watched. I felt bad for the CMs that was just standing waiting for everyone to be seated. I'm glad we did, it was short and enjoyable.

we also saw it in Sept 05...sad to say that I only stayed for 2 reasons...1) I felt bad for the CMs who were standing there waiting for people to watch it and 2) it was a nice place to sit for a couple of minutes to beat the heat!!!

Sorry to say it, but we're ones who walk right by and don't watch the film. After seeing the same show the previous 10 visits, we really have no interest in checking it out again. If they begin showing a new one, we'll be sure to stay and watch, but until then, we'll keep passing through...and yes, we do feel bad for the Norwegian CMs...just not that bad... ;)

I must say that DH and I are guilty- in our probably 10+ times on the ride we have yet to see the movie  We vowed to see it on our honeymoon- but I think I got a "hankerin'" for a kaki-gori and we skipped right out and over to Japan. Maybe this time? :rolleyes1

Actually, I never miss the movie! I love everything about Skandinavia so I look forward to this each time I ride Maelstrom.

We skipped it last week, but it was definitely not shut down.

My family loves that movie. It is beautifully shot and makes me want to go to Norway. . We don't stay to watch it after every boat ride but we watch it at least once on each trip to WDW.
