Moved resort due to inventory discrepancy

We booked SSR a few months ago for 11-20 October 2018. Received an email last night to confirm that due to an inventory discrepancy we are being moved to beach club. No issues with being moved (as long as we get a full balcony room) - has this happened to anyone else so far out from travel? I looked online and all hotels seem pretty full so wonder what’s going on!?!

Nice move! I once got moved from Beach Club to Grand Floridian... I don't remember exactly how far out it was but it was a few months at least. Once Disney called me a few days before and moved me from Yacht CL to Beach CL. So I've had it very short notice too!

I've never been moved but that would be a welcome switch to me! We LOVE Beach Club!

Wow - Beach Club Villas or the hotel? Beach Club is hard to get since it's F&W. Either way!!! - Very Nice!!

There have been reports of others also being moved for unknown reasons. Could be that they are starting room refurbishments.

Glad it worked out for you, but I have to imagine that not everyone this happens to is thrilled. I much prefer the MK resorts for example, and wouldn't be very pleased at all if my March reservations were moved to an Epcot area resort.

You got the best pool on property waiting on you, no matter if your in a resort room or a villa. Great upgrade!

Many UK cash guests being moved.
They said they were not starting the refurb proper until 2019 so the reasons why is something of a mystery.

I would ask for a full balcony but be advised that these are kind of sparse at the BC.

Wow, a move to BC during food and wine. You’ll love the easy walk into Epcot’s back entry. Check out the BC/YC FAQ thread here https://www.disboards.com/threads/d...questions-room-refurbs-complete-2017.3400342/ on the DIS, once you enjoy the vast info. and collection of photos/videos those folks have posted on page 1, hop to the end of the thread w/ any questions, IME they are a friendly bunch in that thread & will definitely add to your excitement about visiting the BC.

That is really interesting! Did they move you from a studio to a regular room at BC?

Agree with above posters, you will love the location. Walking to EPCOT during F&W is awesome.

Yes - deluxe studio to regular room garden / woods view. We haven’t been in October before so will definitely enjoy proximity to F&W. Thanks all for reminding me of that!
