We have done 4 night, then 5 night and ready to try a 7 night fantasy cruise. We are 7 strong, kids, grandkids and grandparents. I am interested in others opinions as to if they felt 7 nights is too long, or just right.

We're in the same situation. We did 3 nights on the Dream a few years back. Just did 5 nights on the Wish. I'm ready for 7 nights now. Five didn't feel long enough at all although it was nice to at least have a sea day to check out more of the ship. With 7 nights, I like that there are more sea days as well as port days. Of course I haven't experienced it yet (booked a placeholder but haven't converted it to a cruise yet) but it seems like there will be less pressure to cram it all into those few days like on a shorter cruise. And I would think with your larger party, that's a good length of time. Time for lots of things together and time for people to split off and do their own thing like spa time, Palo, etc.

Thank you for your reply. we had to cancel 2 (7) night cruises the last two years due to the pandemic. We are all excited over Disney cruising again and being on the Fantasy for the first time. I hope you get to use that placeholder soon

We have only done 7nt cruises. It really depends on the ports, if you're getting off at each port the cruise doesn't seem very long, but you get the benefit of 7 different menus and entertainment in the theater.

Having done many 7-nights cruises, but also multiple 9,12 and 14-nights cruises, I can’t imagine a 7-nights cruise being ‘too long’. Depending on your enjoyment of the ports, it might be ‘just right’ or, most probably, ’too short’.

7 nights is the way to go. We have done the shorter ones before and always feel let down, they are too short. I won't ever do anything less than 7 going forward.

I can only dream of cruising for 2 weeks, you guys are blessed. I would love an around the world cruise stopping at so many different ports, but alas, too many family obligations

We have never done less than 7 nights and would never do less. With 7, you have time to settle in and feel like you can really relax. You have plenty of time to do a mix of activities, try food at different locations for breakfast or lunch, etc. It's hard for me to picture a 3 or 4 day cruise, because it seems like it would go by way too quickly to settle in and really enjoy it. I think I would miss that feeling that I can slow down because I have plenty of time. It still goes way too fast and you are packing to leave before you know it. It is never even close to too long for us.

We do mostly 7+ night cruises. By the time you settle in and really enjoy your cruise and the layout of the ship, you realize it's night 5 and there are only 2 more nights, pack your bags, and a wake-up call.

7 Nights has been our minimum! We have also done 10,11, 12 and 14. We are contemplating a 5 or 6 in the next few months, but we already have 11 and 14 booked for next year.

I agree with all the posters above 7 nights is a perfect amount and we too prefer a bit longer as it seems there’s never enough days to see and do it all. We did a 12 day British isles cruise that flew by because we had a port every day.

We’ve done a 3 night Carnival and a 7 night Disney (Fantasy). Honestly I don’t know that I want to go on a shorter cruise again now that we’ve done a 7 night. Maybe a 5 night but 3 and 4 would be way too short IMO.

A 7 night cruise is a "short" cruise for us. We prefer at least 10-14 days.

I'm in the minority I know, but I thought 7 nights was too long for a caribbean cruise. Felt like we were repeating ourselves a lot at the end--going back to the same dining rooms, meeting the same characters, rehearing the same bingo jokes, more trivia, more waiting in line to ride the aquaduck. We don't love the activities available at caribbean ports, so only went onshore a for a half day at ports and spent a lot of time on the ship, which added to the feeling it was too much time. However, have done 7 nights in Alaska and didn't feel it was too long because the ports and the scenery kept it interesting. I also would do Europe for 7 or more nights, again because it is so port-intensive.

For caribbean/bahamas 5 nights felt perfect to me. You get a beach day at castaway (or two if a double dip), and enough time to do/see everything on the ship at least once.

I think 7 is great! We did an 8 night once and while I enjoyed it very much I remember thinking I was ready to stop eating, drinking, and staying up late by that last night. I never felt that on a 7 night. Shorter cruises are great too if it is what works at the time, but I prefer 7.
