Our move to Florida went pretty well. We made it safely, as did our pets. Most of our stuff arrived intact. It turned out that we had more stuff than could fit in the moving truck. It was a 25 ft truck. We ended up renting a trailer as well, but still left a few things behind. Even though we'd sold a ton of furniture, two households results in a lot of boxes!
We fly to Orlando last Monday. We spent the first three nights here at the AKL. It was beautiful. On Tuesday, the truck arrived and we unloaded. On Thursday, the refrigerator, washer, dryer and my bedroom furniture arrived. Our animals arrived on Friday.
The animals were hot and tired when they arrived. Even though they were kept in air conditioned areas at the airport, they were brought from the airport in a non-airconditioned panel truck. It was 100 degress out. They were really hot when they arrived. They seem to be doing fine now.
We've been working very hard to get everything unpacked. We haven't had much time to enjoy Florida yet. We did take yesterday off and saw the new Harry Potter movie at Downtown Disney's Westside. We are planning on going out to eat tonight to relax.
It has stormed every afternoon since we arrived. The funny thing is that our in-ground sprinkler systems are going off while it is pouring. We don't know how to turn them off! We really need to meet with the builder! Only a couple things wrong with the houses. Pretty good considering we didn't get to see them during the building process.
Neat thing! Every night, I can watch the fireworks from Epcot from my front porch. Ah, Florida!
