Mousesavers reporting a huge deal for first half of 2009 coming tomorrow!

Just think about how many times a mouse can go around a wheel between now and 5pm! That's what this thread is turning into! :stir:

It's just nice to get excited about something fun for a change. I've been spending too much time in the community board lately. That place is a blood bath.

O.k, back to being excited again!

without the dining there really isnt a significant deal...........but still a bit of a deal for those who have to travel certain times, we travel anytime so we can be picky..............we like the DXDP so it would have to be 3 nights free of that to beat September's deal we are booked for................:surfweb: popcorn::

I really was looking forward to the tix upgrade. Now I want free dining!!! Going during value season, the 4/3 doesnt excite me much...

I have a couple questions I'm hoping you knowledgable folks can answer!!! Love the Dis!!

We currently have a package booked through AAA for MYW plus Dining for May 2-8 at the Polynesian, with 7 day park hoppers with water parks and more option. Only discount on there is the AAA discount.

*if* the deal is as explained here (I know nothing official has been released), AND it's available for our dates at the Poly, based on my calculations, we can add an extra night/day to our trip, with dining, (we had planned to stay offsite one night) and still pay $100 less than our current trip price.

so here are my questions:

First, did I calculate right? I went in and did the 7 nights, 8 days with dining and tickets on the Disney site. Got that price (a). Then went in and did the same withOUT dining and got that price (b). Then did 4 nights, 5 days withOUT dining and got that price (c). Subtracted (c) from (b) to get the discount "savings" (d). Then subtracted (d) from (a) to get the package price ***if*** the discount is as described and available for my nights at the Poly. Did I do this right? missing anything??

Secondly, if this all does come about - what's the best way to go about accessing this? Should I just go ahead and book ASAP on the Disney site, pay another $200 deposit and then cancel my AAA ressie and get refunded? Or should I have my AAA agent try to change/rebook the ressie? Since the extra night we'd be adding is at the Beginning of our trip (would be May 1), is changing the ressie even a possibility?? Or is a totally new package a must?

Finally, if I do get a new ressie, I already have 2 ADR's booked. CM dinner on 5/2 and CRT lunch on 5/5. Booked those this past Monday with my current ressie # (to get the +10). Will I lose those if I get a new trip ressie? Will I have to rebook or can I keep them?

Thanks for any and all help!!!

I think the anticipation is fun. Why else is anyone on this board? This is giving me time to pick a resort today.
BTW, I had the package 5 years ago (7 for 4) and the tickets were park hoppers and included water parks for the length of stay. They were not called MYW, can't remember what they were. Someone a few pages back was talking about it and said there were no extras, but there were. And I know we did not pay more for them.

I'll admit I haven't read all the posts, but I have read several where people are concerned if they don't book their vacation, whatever the deal may end up to be, as soon as it's announced, they'll be out of luck. What are the odds of that happening? I mean, say you can't book for a week while you're trying to make all the other arrangements. Do you think it will sell out that fast? I know no one can predict the future, but just wondering what the gut reaction is based on prior experiences.

I certainly hope we dont have to rebook everything. I have had my trip paid in full since August... I just want to 'tweek' it a bit lol.

O.k, back to being excited again!

Who said anything about putting excitation on hold? :confused3 :rotfl2:

It's just that every 2nd or 3rd post is now 'will this' or 'can I', when nobody knows yet.

I was just agreeing that everyone needs to take a big breath, sit down, look through some disney pictures, make some contingency plans, maybe have a cup of coffee and hope hope hope for the greatest discounts ever!

If there is a $200 gift card, I'm already thinking of ways to spend it! That's most of a dinner for two at Victoria and Albert's

I am anxious too! I am trying to sort out all the "If this...we can do that...". 5:00 is the *worst part of our day in terms of being able to really sit, think and decide in a hurry! I just threw dinner together so I won't be bothered with that! :lmao:

Great minds think alike!!! I just threw our dinner in the crockpot...so, I can be fully focused at 5pm.:surfweb:

Does anyone think Disney is waiting until 5 PM so they can see our reaction and maybe change the deal? If we all whine enough about wanting dining added, maybe they will give it to us! :sad1: Please include dining!

Does anyone have the link for the Expedia deal? I tried several dates but couldn't get that $97. (I also haven't finished my coffee yet :surfweb: )

I have to tell you, someone wrote me about this "deal" on Expedia about 3 weeks ago. I haven't posted it on MouseSavers.com because it is clearly an error in Expedia's programming, and Expedia has been iffy about honoring such errors in the past.

Preferred rooms should be $97 that time of year and Family Suites should be $184. When I checked it several weeks ago, I realized the prices were reversed on Expedia for February 1-12 (Preferred rooms are $184, suites are $97). For January 15 and 19-31 both room types were showing $97.

When Expedia offers discounts on Disney World hotels, they are always the same as a "general public" code for the same dates and rates. Disney hasn't released any general public discounts for 2009 yet. So I am confident this is a programming error.

I'm surprised Expedia still hasn't figured out this error. If you book it, hopefully they will honor the error rate for you, but don't count on it!

Free dining would make this deal about the same as what we paid this coming September. If we went in May we wouldn't have to worry about the hurricanes or the sweltering heat, but the lines would be longer :confused3
What to do, what to do?:confused3

so true!

, but I have read several where people are concerned if they don't book their vacation, whatever the deal may end up to be, as soon as it's announced, they'll be out of luck. What are the odds of that happening?

Typically for us with a big deal during a busier time certain room types will sell out or not be available at all. If someone has specific dates that can't change at all or wants a specific room type that they know there aren't many of that is really usually the only issue. As long as you are somewhat flexible it will be fine waiting usually but if you have very set dates or rooms getting in early helps.

LovinPooh- if there is a certain resort you want, I would not wait a few weeks to book it. When I had this deal 5 years ago, I called back 2 days later(after the package was released) to upgrade to a nicer resort and it was no longer available. I had to pick something else.

I wonder if they will do something like this for the Fall of 2009 as well? That is when we really wanted to go but, like I said, if it's that good of a deal we may just have to go sooner!

I have a couple of questions.

First trip we have booked is Feb.10-Feb. 16 with an AP discount. I'm hoping that we can just get the room Pay for 4/Stay for 7 deal. If not I'm hoping the dining would be included in the deal and I would just keep the tickets to upgrade to APs next year. Here's the question - our first 3 days are value season, third are peak rates. I would add an extra day to the trip we have took it. Which rates would I be paying? Value or Peak?

Second question - our next trip is booked June 30-July 15. It is a split stay. I was wondering if I move the trip up (check in before June 27) would I still be able to do the Pay for 4/Stay for 7 or does the trip have to end by the 27th?

Can't wait to find out the details. Our first trip in 2003 was the Fairytale Package - Stay for 7 pay for 4 and that's how we got hooked!
