Mousekeeping Tip Envelopes

We leave $1 per person each morning of our stay.

One other idea... when my children were small, they loved to draw the Disney cartoons. So, I let them decorate plain envelopes with characters and the words "Thank you!" It left a personal touch, and our mousekeepers seemed to really love it. One year one of our mousekeepers left us some of the most amazing towel animal displays I have ever seen or heard about... a pool with a slide (yes, all made of towels) with about 5 towel animals playing around it plus our other stuffed plush animals that we brought from home... and even a hammock swing tied to the blinds with animals looking down into the pool. It was amazing. This kind of built up during the week; she would add a new feature each day and rearrange all the animals. Don't think it was directly related to the tipping, but it was well worth every penny to see my kids faces when we walked in our room each night. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We tip $5 per day, feel that's at tipped position, feel that's a personal service. It's hard work, it's nice to do, I can't think of a good reason not to tip unless something is wrong or I'm broke. ..oh, I'm thinking of Las Vegas.., sorry. Hah!

Hey, of course you should tip!
JMHO ..:goodvibes

WOW! I'm impressed ! Thank you for sharing ! One question, if I may..... How do you go about printing them from photobucket? I have a photobucket account, but haven't used it in years. Thank you for the help! :worship:

actually, Disney doesnt call their housekeeperes :mousekkeeping" They are called housekeeping or showkeeping

Lots of great tips! I had a client who had her kids take turn decorating the envelopes and writing "thanks" on them!(used it as a teaching moment!)

Let me put is this way. One of our Mousekeepers is deep in her seventies. We know her for several years. She is a very fragile lady and I'm almost ashamed she has to clean our room. It is a lovely sweet black lady and me and my sister always tip her more than enough because we feel very oncomfortly that she has to work at that age.
Every time we see her the word slave pops up in our mind. Nobody that old should be cleaning other peoples toilet. I'm convinced she is not working because she makes good money.

OP tip what you can miss and remember if you can spend thousands of Dollars for you're pleasure a few bucks for those that slave for us wont break the bank unless you are a cheap xxx of course.

Kaspar...did you really just make sure we knew the housekeeper was black...then say you think of the word "slave" when you see her? Wow.

I also assume you tip the lifeguards and photo pass photographers too? I'm sure they're slaving away for peanuts as well.

Do you actully have mouse keeping in your room every day? Normally when DH and I stay in hotels we put the "do not disturb" sign on and leave it on. If we are there for a week might just take it off one day mid week or ask housekeeping directly for fresh towels. We keep the room neat and I cannot imagine having it actually cleaned each day. I guess we are weird, though? Are we missing out on something if we do this at Disney?

oh yes we do.. I do not clean a darn thing when I am on vacation..I do it enough at home with 4 kids. We always have 2 rooms and I never put the do not disturb sign up. One of the best things about vacation for me is not cleaning the toilets or vacuuming. with 4 kids ( ok one is an adult now but still) the rooms get messy and we go thru a TON of towels!

not sure if this was asked or not, but are tipping envelopes already available in the rooms or do you have to bring them youself? Would the front desk have them available?

We tip $5/day per person in the room. Someone may have something to say about this, but this is our choice. Sometimes my daughter will decorate an envelope and we usually leave it on the bathroom counter so it doesn't get lost in all the junk that ends up on our dressers in the room!

With all do respect, I've seen some of your other posts in other threads and they need a little work.
