Mousefest 2008 -- Will you be there?

I think that you pretty much answered my question. I was wondering when you can register, etc.

On the MVMCP meet, how does it work? Do you buy a ticket to MVMCP yourself for the night of the event? Or do you buy your ticket through Mousefest?

MVMCP is a separate event from Mousefest. You have to purchase the ticket from WDW direct. You can purchase these in advance, or on the day of (if any our available!)

I'll be at Mousefest, and just might even hold an event. We'll see.

I'll only be at the land portion though. 7th-14th of December for me.

me too on wanting to get MVMCP tickets since they went on sale today. Would help to know any Mousefest plans around that. My son and I stumbled on Mousefest last year and already have plans to go back in 2008.

I've been going to Mousefest since long before it was Mousefest. I've been on the planning committee for the Annual RADP Holiday Meet since 1998 when Deb first asked for volunteers. RADP was the fore-runner of Mousefest. We actually planned the first Mousefest in 2003. If you have the chance to go, don't miss it! It is so fantastic meeting people that you know from the Disney Internet communities. I missed the 2nd RADP Meet in 1997 and swore I would never miss another one! I haven't.

The MVMCP meet has tradtionally been on the Thursday night before the Big Meet weekend. That would make it on the 11th this year. I doubt very much that the tradtional night will change. You can check out the MVMCP schedule and possible discounts at http://allearsnet.com/tp/hol_mk.htm

It looks like they are actually charging more for that night, calling it one of the "Premium dates". Sheesh! The Christmas Party gets more expensive every year, but this is a big jump in price.

I hate to do it but this year we might skip the Mousefest night for MVMCP and go on one of the discounted nights instead.

Disney is really bugging me with the prices they now charge for MVMCP. Plus, the parks are sometimes still pretty busy depending on which night you go.

I'm on waitlist at AKV for a value or concierge studio. If I don't get AKV I'll probably be at Saratoga Springs.

Like you, I'm also considering not going to MVMCP. The 15 percent increase in that night's ticket prices has turned me off completely to the party. Maybe if several events are planned around it I might change my mind, but as of now I'm not going to attend.

I'm going to be there as well, but I'll be at Pop since by that point in the year I'll be out of points! For those of you on the fence, I'd really suggest going, it is so much fun! I went by myself for my first mousefest last year, and everyone was so welcoming and friendly, by the end of the first day I felt like I was one of the group. I wouldn't run out and buy those MVMCP tickets for the 11th right away. There has been talk of not doing it that night....seems it is hard for those who are just getting off the ship early that morning to get to WDW, get settled and then put together a big meet that night!!! For those of you who are AP holders, when I was talking to the CM, I mentioned that I had an AP. She then booked me with the AP rate for the night of the 11th. So you may want to mention your AP when you buy your tickets. By the way, they wouldn't ship them to me. The CM said that I had to get the ticket at will call since they need to see my pass.

It doesn't affect the parks at all. Yes, there are a lot of us that participate in MF, but in the big picture, there just aren't that many of us.
Well....yes, there has been a big crowd at the Rose Garden for MVMCP in the past. And there were those several hundred people that showed up at Kilimanjaro Safaris to ride as a group...I'm sure those other folks, not with our group, were less than pleased when we were all ushered through so we could ride as a group.
But,other than stuff like that, the impact isn't all that great. There are only a few 'big' events that draw a lot of people to the same place, at the same time.
This is still a terrific time to head to WDW!!

Just got back from a week at POP. Now ready to start planning for Mousefest! Can't wait to see the day schedule so I can get my schedule set for dining. Went to my first MF last year and had a blast. This year I will know better how to maximize the opportunities MF has to offer...
