Mouldy Fruits at Flame Tree

has this ever happened to anyone?

This past spring, our whole gang was at Flame Tree BBQ ( First time it was open when our family went yay! ). For the most part, our very large group loved the BBQ meat there. By DD was not feeling very hungry, but knew she should eat something. So she just ordered the fruit plate.

Imagine our horror as she picked out a piece of fruit while she had already started eating, that was covered in mould!!!

Suffice it to say, they replaced the plate with a fresh one, but I was pretty taken aback that this happened at all. When are these prepared and how long do they sit in the fridge for?!

Wow, how awful! That has never happened to us and we order the fruit plate all the time. So sorry.

I love grapes and usually get the grape cup for my snack. I have gotten a stray grape with mold at the "stem hole".

Seems that they may need to step up on their quality control or at least check what they serve before they serve it. But they move those meals out to the public so fast, it got skipped over. I find living in a humid area in the summer, the fruit goes so fast.....most especially berries, grapes, etc..

Sorry this happened to you and glad that they took care of it for you... I cannot stand being served moldy fruit...

Can happen anywhere. I was at a local Italian eatery, ordered their famous soup, salad, breadstick combo, and the salad had a fly in it. There goes the appetite.
