Mother - Son Wedding song

Need suggestions! Something different!! Must pick a song for Son's wedding in April! :)
My son and I Danced to Remember the Magic. We are a family of Disney fans. The song was done for the 25th anniversary of WDW. It's sung by Brian McKnight. Enjoy the wedding it goes by so fast.

If I have any say for my son's wedding when it's time (he's 7), I would love to dance with him to Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I just love that song and it's exactly what I would want to say to him!

My older DS and I danced to I Hope You Dance. Younger DS and I danced to My Wish for You by Rascal Flatts. Both proably popular but the songs say what I feel.

My dad picked that for our dance and TBH I didn't really like it, it was also soooo long! It felt like it would never end

Kind and Generous - Natalie Merchant

Forgot about this one but I heard it years ago at a relative's wedding and thought it was a little different and refreshing.

Several years ago I was at a wedding where the Mother/Son dance was to Rod Stewart's Forever Young. I thought it was strange at the time but after awhile it really grew on me. I always loved that song and it is very fitting. Not too fast but not too slow. Meaningful lyrics.

One of my favorite versions of Forever Young is by Audra Mae and the Forest Rangers. I heard it the first time on an episode of Sons of Anarchy of all places. DD had picked a different song for her father/daughter dance at her wedding but surprised me by choosing that song to honor me which I thought was a lovely way to include both her father and I.

Ok, I've narrowed it down to:

I don't want to miss a thing- Aerosmith
My Wish - Rascal Flatts
Landslide - Dixie Chicks
Forever Young is by Audra Mae and the Forest Rangers ( LOVED SOA!)
In My life - Beatles

What do you think??

Oh my gosh! My DS is only 17 and YEARS away from marrying..... but thinking about dancing with him to many of these songs has me totally tearing up here at work! Yikes! Our song since he was a baby has been "A Bushel and a Peck" from Guys and Dolls.....not really dance appropriate.... but we also sing "You'll be in my Heart" and "Go the Distance" from Hercules together quite often. And now I see so many other options here! Yikes! "My Wish" was their marching-in song from 8th grade graduation and it made me realize how few years I had left with him as my little buddy at home and I always thought I'd use that song (if he gave me a choice), but now.... oh my! Thanks for making me cry at work! ;) .................P

All really nice choices. JMO, I think the Aerosmith song has more of a romantic/intimate vibe so I'd eliminate that one.

I'm not familiar with SOA or Audra Mae, so I didn't know if it was the Bob Dylan song, the Rod Stewart song of the same name, or something different altogether. Really sweet rendition of the Dylan classic. I think I'd probably go with that one or the Beatles.

But you and your son should choose the one you both like best.

DH and his mom danced to "Don't it Make My Brown Eyes Blue". Not a traditional song but when he was little they would sing it together every time they were in the car. His mom would always comment about how his little voice would be belting it out of the back seat! I don't think all our guests knew why they picked that song, but it was something special for the two of them. There are lots of lists of traditional songs, but don't rule out anything that might be sentimental for the two of you.

The Beatles - There Are Places I Remember

The title of that is In My Life. LOVE this song. DH and I used this for our bridal party dance. I vote this one :)

My friend and her dad, along with her husband and his mom, danced to In My Life by the Beatles at the same time. The song worked for both sides and I liked the fact that both dances were done in one shot. They liked the fact that it wasn't all eyes on them, which made them less nervous/awkward.

I chose Landslide by Fleetwood Mac for the dance with my dad, but it could be used for mother/son too. There are many versions of this song, but the original is my favorite.

My mother-in-law chose "In My Life" by the Beatles as the song she would dance to at the weddings of all 4 sons. It was an excellent choice, and a nice tradition for all the weddings.

Think I found the perfect son- Tim McGraw - Humble & Kind

I was actually reading through this thread to see if someone had suggested this yet. I love this song. My only reservation about playing it for a wedding dance is the part that says "There's a difference between sleeping with someone and sleeping with someone you love." but otherwise a really wonderful song.

Of your other choices, I would go with My Wish. Also a long time favorite.

I danced with my mom to
My Mother's Eyes performed by Ella Fitzgerald
Really beautiful version of a really lovely song
Band was supposed to play it but they called morning of the wedding to tell me they couldn't find the music, so I was running around the house yelling "I have to find my mothers eyes!"
Which really confused all the guys in my wedding party.
Really is a wonderful song especially her version.
