I am looking for reccommendations for inexpensive, safe, clean accommodation for one night on or very close to the beach in Fort Lauderdale/Dania/Hollywood, FL area for the last week of December.

We will be spending the day at Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, then eating dinner at Tropical acres in Fort Lauderdale, then just need somewhere to sleep closeby for the night. The next day we will spend the day at the beach before heading back up to Orlando.

Thank you

I just had a client do a pre and post cruise stay (2 days each) at the Fort Lauderdale Beachside Hotel, it was basic but clean and on the beach. She paid $74/night.
We stayed 1 night precruise at the Hampton Inn City Center in FLL (not on the beach, just off Las Olas Blvd., only a few miles from the beach) on N. Andrews. It was a great bargain for the area and the Sun trolley stops at the entrance every 20-30 min.

Marriott Courtyard Florida Beach Resort....gets great reviews on TripAdvisor and is pretty much right next to the beach.

Have a great trip!

Shore Haven motel in Lauderdale by the Sea.

Small but clean and comfortable, two lovely pool areas, and walking distance to everything in Lauderdale by the Sea ... which isn't much but it's a very friendly beach town without high-rises.

There is a clean Comfort Inn about 1.5 miles from the beach at Federal Hwy 1 (SE 6th Ave) and SE 17th. If you have a car it's quick trip. Anything along or near Los Olas Blvd. is good since you have the Sun trolley and the Water Taxi. Avoid Tropic Cay hotel. There are several small boutique hotels about 1 to 2 blocks from the beach on or near Breakers and Birch Ave at the north end of Ft Lauderdale by the state park. They can cost a good bit sometimes depending on the market. Alhambra Beach Resort Hotel is one of these a lot of people like.

Another hotel you may want to consider is the Doubletree Gallery One. It's on the Intracostal, but only about two blocks from the beach... also near the Galleria Mall at Sunrise and NE 26th Ave. Sometimes you can find deals here for $100 less than a comperable hotel on A1A.

The Hilton on A1A is VERY nice if you can score a deal....

A couple of big caveats to think about..... late December is high season so things tend to book up very fast (The hotel work at is booked Xmas through New Years already.) and deals can be hard to come by. If you are looking at a Friday or Saturday night, that makes things extra difficult due to the cruise traffic. Most boutique properties have minimum stays and very strict cancellation policies, so be sure to ask them before you book... just the nature of the market here for small hotels.

Hope that helps!

There is a Holiday Inn Express and Suite (little kitchen) on 17th in Fort Lauderdale. Fairly new, very clean. I would check travelocity or holiday in for prices. This will give you easy access to whatever you need in Fort Lauderdale and an easy path to Sawgrass Mills!
