I guess "romantic" is relative. We had some romantic meals at some counter service locations, sitting at one of the round tables during a light rain outside the patiserie in France. Near the pond at Yakatori.
But table service romantic - Brown Derby was a great evening.
I believe that the California Grill is at the Contemporary..? I think.
And to the OP. I've never been to V&A's but I heard via Disney travel shows, DISers, and such that it was quite romantic. Quiet (because it's all adults) which makes a peaceful setting.
A couple of good suggestions (CG & Bistro) that I should have included in the poll. Unfortunately I can't figure out a way to edit the poll now that its posted.
My vote is for V&As- partly for the ambiance, partly for the exclusivity of being there, mostly because when you are there, it is like it is just you and your dining partner are the only people in the world. My wife and I had dinner there the day after being married at the Wedding Pavilion five years ago and it was the perfect way to celebrate our wedding. We have gone back once since, and we have planned dinner there on our fifth wedding anniversary this year! The whole meal is an experience, and while there are many excellent choices on this poll, none are as good as V&As. In a way, it is actually great value despite its high price tag.
If romantic = quiet, adult atmosphere, good food & service, then yes V&A really is in its own class. Bistro de Paris is probably next; then I would say Jiko and Narcoosees. CaliGrill and Artist Point can get a bit loud/crowded, but if you may get a quiet table somewhere. Ditto park restaurants like San Angel or Brown Derby; Bistro (because of the menu/prices I guess) is the exception, just seems a quieter, more relaxed place. Still have places to try (Citricos tomorrow) but those are my picks for now. FWIW.
Narcoossee's!!! I think it's beautiful, very professional wait staff, food is always wonderful... plus they dim the lights when Wishes begins so everyone can enjoy it. It's over the water at the Grand Floridian which as even more romanticism.
It's one of my favorite restaurants altogether.
The other one's for me are 'Ohana, 50's Primetime and the Yachtsman Steakhouse!
