Following is an email I received today in response to my email showing concern re: fotl .... So.. I wonder what the changes are.. I will call tomorrow.. just thought I would pass this along to my Online family :)

Kathy

Thank you for your e-mail. There have been some changes going on with the Universal Express benefits for on-site hotel guests.

However, some of the restrictions were lifted as of 14 July, while all restrictions removed by 16 August.

For more information, please contact Guest Services on 407.224.4233

We hope you will keep your plans and enjoy all that Universal Orlando has to offer!

Best regards

So, August 16th... will mean no express limitiations?

YAY!!!!!! I arrive after that!

I wonder if the August 16th removal will be permanent?

Probably not. I wouldn't be surprised if they re-instated it for Winter Peak.

We shall see...

WOW!! You've made my day!! We get in 8/29, so unlimited FOTL here we COME!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! :bounce: :bounce: :hyper: :wave2:

August 16th is the day broward kids (and most others) go back to school.
You won't even need FOTL after that, maybe in the afternoon to save a few minutes, but really, for the next few months, it is not needed.

I'm sure the restrictions will be back for the summer next year. What they need to do is put the rules in print, in January, at the beginning of the year, so everyone knows the rules up front.

I agree that they should just list peak season dates and state that it will be limited. This is great news for me anyway, as we are going after the date.

Yes!!!!! August 23rd here we come!

poop on this peak season stuff. I suppose that President's week in Feb will be considered peak season??? The ONLY (and I mean only!) time we can go...ever!! Unless I quit my job or take my son out of school, which I am just not prepared to do...bummer!

I made a reservation for 1 night (8/28) at the Portofino today and the reservationist told me that the FOTL had a change and went on to explain about the 1 time limit before 3:00pm--so maybe it isn't being lifted, or this girl wasn't told about the change.

Both Osceola County schools (Kissimmee) and Hillsborough County (Tampa) went back to school Aug 5. Orange County (Orlando) goes back to school on Monday (Aug. 9).

You have NOTHING to worry about. The 3 o'clock rule did not effect our plans and in all honesty, it was not fully enforced! Go have a great trip! We did!

It was not going to affect or ruin our trip, but I am so glad to see it will be lifted before we get there. A great trips getting even better.

I snail mailed Universal and I got 2 letters back in reply. One was from Bob Gault, President. His letter said the restriction was "only during limited peak periods throughout the year" (those words in quotations were underlined in the letter.

The 2nd letter was from someone in Guest Services. This letter said "The restrictions on the On-sight (that's the way they spelled it) hotel room keys through our Express lines will only be during certain times of the year."

Now if I could only find out when those limited peak periods and certain times are, I would be in good shape!

It did make me feel better to get those responses and to know this policy will not apply all the time.
