Most Overrated Restaurants

Last trip I went with the restaurants with best rating reviews and choose
Jiko's for a Family gathering Meal--that was a mistake, was the worst meal of our whole trip, family still joke about eating there.

One that was not rated high was San Angels Inn Mexico Epcot and it was one of the best meals of the whole trip, so you never know. I wish all restaurants would be Consistent with their food quality.

We've eaten at Tony's at MK for the 1st time several trips ago, it was wonderful best food, then 2nd time a different trip not so great, 3rd time eating there very bad good. I would love to eat at Tony's again someday, hope they improve their food.

Hated: Chef Mickey's dinner-Gross (kids touching food)
50's prime time (since we were a party of 3 made us pretend that we were related to another small group in the booth next to us, very odd).

I got food poisoning at Crystal Palace character breakfast (just hearing the words 'breakfast lasagna' still makes me shudder) and The Brown Derby, so those would top my list...

For us it would be the Coral Reef.

Ohana. The nastiest food I ever had a Disney. Tastes awful, no good seasoning, and it was like warm but we still had to wait 30 min even though we had ADR

I honestly think that every WDW restaurant is overrated. They wouldn't survive if they existed outside of the parks/hotel area. They would all have to severely lower their prices to be halfway competitive with outside restaurants.

True but location is everything ^. Sure at Capital Grille you can get 10x better food and service, but you can't watch your children smile when they see Mickey or watch Fireworks while sipping on a glass of wine.

Most overrated I would say California Grill - just average for us.
Never return to would be Chef Mickeys, Garden Grille, Tusker House Breakfast, Liberty Tree Tavern & Chefs de France - all awful food!! - also not fussed on Tutto Italia, Akershus and Brown Derby.
Ours faves are Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Teppan Edo, Ohana, Kona, Flying Fish.

CORAL REEF!!! I've never had worse wait times, service or food anywhere ! :sad1:

I'm with you on this one. Fishtank and desserts were awesome but that's about it.

Same for Sanaa. Excellent view, o.k. Food.

Also... I did not like Whispering Canyon Café... Food o.k., hated the antics of the staff) I really felt uncomfortable.

It was back in the late 90s, but I had perhaps the best salmon I ever ate at the CR. we sadly have not been there since so we can try other options.

Marrakesh...blech!!! Will never go there again.
CRT breakfast...too expensive for what you get.
Artist Point...nice but not worth the cost and can get a nice filet at a restaurant near home (for less $$ too).
Cape May dinner...big fat disappointment (those crab legs are so small) and, again, not worth the cost (seafood at home is way better).
Garden Grill...pretty much the same as Cape May...meh food for high cost.

I have two: Ohana breakfast and Teppan Edo.

We haven't done Ohana dinner, and I know that one can be hard to get, but we were not impressed with Ohana breakfast. It's one of the more expensive character meals, but the food options were very limited. Sure its all you can eat but it's served family style, and our server was extremely slow at replenishing. Plus it's essentially just bacon, eggs and sausage. For the price, I think the character buffets are a much better value with a lot more offerings. We also found the characters to move slow here - we never did see Stitch.

Teppan Edo is ok but considering the quality versus the hibachi you can likely have in your hometown, it left a lot to be desired. And since I can get a better experience in my town, I'd rather go to a place more unique to Disney.

Ohana dinner. While overall it wasn't bad, I just don't get all the raves. I probably wouldn't return again at that price point.

Sci Fi: Food was meh. The movie clips were annoying and the loop wasn't very long, at least not long enough to make up for the slow service.

'Ohana: Food was pretty good, but we had a long wait to check in and honestly, it wasn't so amazing that it is worth getting up early for an ADR 6 months in advance. Yes, we thought it was fine, but nothing spectacular.

Tusker House: It was good (some things were very good), but no better than any other buffet. I would go back for the characters, not for the food. People describe Tusker House like the second coming, but I didn't find Hollywood & Vine to be any worse.

Last summer we had a blah meal at Via Napoli. We ate there in 11' and loved it. Very disappointed the next time around. However, we didn't get pizza either time.

Also, our last trip we really weren't fans of BOG. The food wasn't that good. It was really all about the ambiance which was very cool. This time around we are just going to do BOG lunch.

1900 PF and Crystal Palace.

1900 PF had decent food, but horrible service and mediocre character interaction at best. I was expecting much better based on everyone else's reviews.

Crystal Palace had decent character interaction, but bad food and horrible service. PLus we waited almost an hour after our ADR time.

No thanks. We will go somewhere else next time!

I would have to say we have had many wonderful meals that have been to our expectations at Disney World but honestly I feel like every meal is over priced. It is Disney World and the food is expensive, it always is at most theme parks, sports venues......and more. We do splurge on food at Disney because it is vacation.

We find that there are several counter service locations through out the park that we didn't enjoy the food. We have started to eat more table service foods.

Buffets like Crystal Palace we are not as interested in any more. Just not to our liking anymore.

We have found we like Trails End and Boma for buffets along with Cape May (ribs are back on certain days again). We do like Chef Mickey's for breakfast.

I can say there are only 3 places we have dined at that we will not return for table service. Not because of price or being overrated but because it just wasn't good to us.

1900 Parke Fare for dinner, Chefs de France, and Sci Fi. We really didn't like them at all.

Not a table service, but Flame Tree BBQ was hands down the worst food I have ever had in Disney, sadly, since I had heard such good things about it. It was so bad, I don't think I would ever even give it a second chance either. Food was cold, meat (that we could actually find on the plate of bones we got) was so tough, we couldn't even chew it. Most of it went into the trash can.
