What restaurants do you constantly hear great things, but you just don't get what the fuss is all about?

My overrated restaurants are Boma and Ohana. They are just OK to me

I'll never understand why people love Le Cellier so much. The fact that it's now 2 dining credits is ludicrous.

Hands down the answer is Via Napoli - 20 bucks for a personal pizza and another15 or so for a salad to share ... That's about $1 and 50 cents worth of food for $35 . The Italian beer runs you 9 more bucks and its mediocre. The food is pretty good but can't help to feel ripped off after getting the bill .. I know it's Disney but come on !

I guess I am a sucker for the cheddar cheese soup and the pretzel bread, and their filet.

But I agree its not worth 2 credits.... That drew the line for me

Lol... I like Via Napoli. The only way to get value is to get the huge party pizza if you have enough people to share.

I love the sangria there too! Beers at stand in germany are like $12 bucks, so I guess $9 isn't too bad.

And yes Chef Mickey's is awful...But I think everyone on these boards knows that

but that always baffled me, go to a steakhouse and everyone raves about the soup? :confused3

I too think Le Cellier is way overrated

Chef Mickey and Garden Grill.

Garden Grill is the one restaurant that my entire family left and said, "Never again." At least we all agreed on one thing!

And not a restaurant, but I'll never the understand the Dole Whip phenomenon!

For us it's Pecos Bill's - that's a never again restaurant for us. Everything was so bland and even off hour / slow time of year was madness finding seats to eat

Sorry, two of our favorite restaurants - not over hyped to us!

Chef Mickeys would be my choice of over rated.

Why do you like these two so much? I find the food to be average at best.

Ohana the meat is overcooked and dry. Can't compare to some of the local Brazilian steakhouses for the same price.

Boma's dinner besides the fresh cut meat is not very good. The breakfast is much better.

Comparatively, most WDW eateries are the equivalent of Chili's/Applebees with a plus or minus rating. There are exceptions, and of course the restaurants for which there are no obvious comparisons (Morocco).

But those are the kinds of place many Americans eat on a regular basis. It's not that they are bad, but because of the WDW prices we expect more. Maybe we get that in theming and service? :earsboy:

In order:

1. Coral Reef
2. Le Cellier
3. Yachtsman Steakhouse
4. Portobello
5. Cinderella's Royal Table

Most of them. Seriously, it would be shorter to list the ones that aren't. This is one reason that we choose to eat almost all our sit down meals offsite.

Yes!!! This^^^^

I had such high expectations and was disappointed. It's dark, the service is just ok and so overpriced.

Chef Mickey's.

Also a food item that is over rated for me is Mickey ice cream bars. With the amount of delicious treats available on property there is no way I am wasting money on a pre-packaged ice cream bar that tastes the same as the ones I can buy at home.

I don't really care for the food at Crystal Palace or the restaurant layout. For atmosphere I actually love Chef Mickey's. We do a res about 60-90 min before it ends and get a table by the windows looking at the castle and then if you aren't in a rush out the door the character interaction at the end is excellent. We basically had a private dance party with Goofy and Minnie at the end and the kids loved it!!

Let's be honest...these places are typically 70% atmosphere and I think Disney delivers. The dinner at 1900 PF is great for a buffet and if you ask for a table by the server/character entrance you get 2 visits from the characters and it is really special for little girls:)

It is all about the experience for us...and the memories!!!
