Most Overrated Food in Disney

I also have never tried a Disney turkey leg, but I'm too self conscious to eat one in public. If I could just have one in the privacy of my room (Do they sell them at the resorts or Boardwalk??), I'd dig in with gusto. I like smoked turkey and/or ham (which I understand it tastes like) so I'm sure I would like it. I just don't want to be seen walking around eating it like Henry VIII! (Just my personal quirk!)

I feel exactly the same way, LOL.

Zebra domes! Way too sweet for my personal taste, but I know lots of people love 'em!

And all food in Biergarten, Whispering Canyon and O'Hana. I stayed in Poly during my last visit and never booked meals at O'Hana and never bothered with that Dole Whip thing.

I thought the Plaza was kind of overrated really. My sandwich was a little dry, as was Mum's burger.

For me, it was the Nutella and fruit waffle at sleepy hollow. It always looked so good on Disney Food Blog - fresh and overflowing with berries. It just wasn't all that good.

School bread. Maybe I got a bad one, but it was a dry bland roll with a dab of cream for a little mositure.

Cheese soup at Le Cellier. Was kind of spicy and not real cheesy. The pretzel bread wasn't what I expected either.

Gonna chime in with the Dole Whip as well, but to give it credit I can see where it would be really tasty and refreshing on a hot day. We tend to visit in milder months, and the Dole Whip underwhelmed, and I'm a huge pineapple fan.

I felt the same way about the sweet and spicy chicken waffle at Sleepy Hollow. The Disney Food Blog gave it glowing reviews, and it was just okay. :sad2:

I know Boardwalk area doesn't have them. Not sure about other resorts though.

After seeing some people tear into those with pure gusto it does look rather gluttonous and unappealing. I get your quirk!

I have shared in a few in my day. It's a hit or miss with those legs. I've had a tender and moist one, and a dry as all get out shoe leather leg. Gross!

Another one just hit me. The carrot cake cookie at the Writer's Stop. It was good, but I wouldn't say it was slap yo mama good. Not something I'd probably ever order again.

I have to agree with that one. The carrot cake cookie was very good, but certainly wasn't something I would order again. I did like getting regular coffee there though!

I always liked the dole whip swirl only - something about the pineapple and vanilla mix that was just good! So...not overrated for me! Lol. I've also never had the caramel apples, though they always do look very appetizing!

Honestly, my family doesn't find any of the food at Disney all that great. My kids do like La Hacienda de San Angel, and my husband and I love Dole Whips though!

First let me say I like this thread and find it fun, and I have to admit that this thread has made me literally:lmao: With posts that people would actually cancel their reservations based on opinions of folks that they have never met or have no idea what their tastes are like. i.e. one post mentioned not liking the Cheese Soup because it was spicy, I like it because it has a little spice to it. Neither one of us is right or wrong, we just have different likes/dislikes. I always get a kick out of the POFQ beignets comparisons, where people are comparing a "food court" menu item to a place (Cafe du Monde) that has been making them since the 1800's:crazy: Like comparing steak from Golden Corral to to one at Ruth Chris steakhouse. DW and DDs love the POFQ beignets, but its also because they are just fun/messy to eat and the powder goes everywhere:laughing:

So true! See, I hate the beignets at POFQ and most everyone else seems to love them. Perhaps it's because the ones I received at POFQ weren't cooked correctly (way too chewy), but I bet it really is because I compared them in my head to the "real" ones I've had at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. I just couldn't help it.

I also don't like the pizza at Via Napoli all that much, likely for the same sort of reason. New York has some of the best pizza in the world, so its hard for me to be wowed by pizza.

That being said, I don't think I've had anything at WDW that I would say, yuck, I would never try that again. Everything was either mostly fine or mostly good with a few standouts here and there.

I thought the cronot (sp??) at the refreshment port was awful. The one I had was so greasy and dense. I was only able to tolerate a couple bites so for 5.00 very overrated in my opinion.

Funny, I thought the opposite. I'd never heard anything particularly good or bad about the Plaza and usually avoided it (also: it's a lousy value on the DDP!) But one trip when we were dining out of pocket, I booked it as a "step up" from counter service and was pleasantly surprised. Wasn't the best meal ever (nor was it bad), but was quick, easy and relatively affordable, without having to wait long or hunt for a seat.

Dole Whip---So excited to try one on our first trip, only to discover that it tasted like plastic or some weird chemical :crazy2:

Lol, I must ask have you eaten plastic and weird chemicals in the past. They may be harmful to your health.
