Most Overrated Food in Disney

95% of the items are overrated.
They taste good, ya. But the memories/Disney association of them and only getting them once a year or every few years = the omg hype.
I don't think anything that's hyped up is actually not good, but yeah def overrated, but that's part of the fun lol.

For those offended by the thread, my intention was to have fun -- not to be mean.

It's like movies. Have you ever heard so much about HOW GOOD a movie was that you build it up in your head that it's going to be phenomenal, only to shrug your shoulders afterward saying I don't get the hype?

That's the same thing with WDW food! I thought the Norway School Bread was going to be the tastiest sweet treat EVER by what I heard. So excited to try it, only to say "I don't get it?!"

How not getting the hype of certain foods is an attack ... I don't know? Maybe I just have a thick skin?

Don't even worry about it, I think the overwhelming majority of those on here understand and enjoy the intent and spirit of your thread. There is nothing in it that stands out as attacking of any person or personal taste. I highly doubt if someone were to start a thread and say I love Dole Whips, or Le Cellier, or Zebra Domes and etc. or such and such is underrated that others who don't like these would take it as an insult to them. So neither is it with your post. I like your thread. :thumbsup2

I really don't see the point of threads like this. It's pretty much telling others, "You like that food?? What is wrong with you?". There is really nothing beneficial to come out of a thread that in some sense, is making fun of others.

???? :confused3 man talk about over analyzing this. No one is making fun of anyone. there really is a simply solution when you come across a thread you don't like.... skip it.

anyhoo, flygirl. I'm not offended.
Mine would be the "kitchen sink" at Beaches and cream. My son got one for his birthday and it was fun simply because of the sheer size of the thing. but it melts and by the end you have one big "glob" of grey icing.

I take back what I just said above, now I am insulted. How can you have too much of everything when it comes to ice cream, chocolate and etc all in one big bowl. :rotfl2:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I just don't like the melting of it all together. Too many flavors.

Now if it was a kitchen sink of turtle sundae I'd be all over that bad boy.

For some reason I don't like the pizza at Via Napoli. I've even tried it twice and don't get it. I do not eat meat on pizza, so have tried the Quattro Frommagi twice. I assumed that maybe I just had a bad pizza the first time so tried it again ... still didn't enjoy it. :confused3 I love the Acqua Frescas (blood orange flavour) but not the pizza. I guess I just like regular old Domino pizza better lol  I think I'm the only one who doesn't like Via Napoli though:confused3

Turkey leg - it just tastes like a big salt bomb to me
Tonga Toast - just kind of globby and nasty

I haven't tried many of the things on this thread because they don't appeal to me in the first place. And that's OK. We all have different tastes.

I think Dole Whips are OK, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one.

I completely agree on the beignets. I just want to scoop all the POFQ beignet lovers up and take them to New Orleans so that they can really experience a beignet.

I can't wait to try the grey stuff - not because I think it will be good, but because it is the grey stuff. Clear as mud (or grey stuff)?

I have to say Tonga Toast. Too much bread! And the Dole Whip. I love pineapple, but this wasn't that great. Good. Not great.

the meats at Ohana, Grand Marnier Slush-I love the Grey goose one I love all things orange so this was a surprise for me, Most Cupcakes at WDW too much frosting  I am weird like that, And the biggest one for me was the Sticky Mickey at the old Restaurant at The Contemporay can't think of the name

The cronut was NOT overrated. That thing is amazing. I was pretty lukewarm about the butterfinger cupcake at Starring Roles. The frosting was cold and tasted of crisco.

I love certain foods in Disney because I can only get them in Disney.

I definitely agree that Epcot's Cronut lived up to the hype but I'm sure there are those who thought it wasn't all dat!

Ooh good call. It was "too much of an okay" thing for me. WAY too big, and not that great, haha. And I love me some Butterfingers.
