Most Overrated Food in Disney

Any cupcake at WDW, any pretzel at WDW, anything from Casey's and lunch at BOG. We have now tried BOG for lunch 4 times and that's it for me. I am done. I'd rather eat almost anywhere else.

For me it was Dole whips. DH eats enough of them for both of us though.

Main Street Bakery Cinnamon Rolls. Maybe we just got a bad batch but ours were dry and tasted like something we could pick up from any Walmart bakery.

I absolutely could not stand the Tonga Toast at Kona. I should have known better seeing as I'm not a super sweet breakfast eater... but all the rave reviews about it just made me go for it.

I didn't care for the brownie at Be Our Guest that had the grey stuff on it either. It was too hard (which was probably how it was supposed to be, just not what I expected) and the grey stuff itself was just so bland.

And on top of that, the one that will make even more people upset than the toast... that disgusting lapu lapu!!! :crazy2: It was so darn sweet! I get the novelty of it being in a pineapple and all but bleh!!

Apparently I have a very specific "sweet" taste... :p

I may be alone on this... BOG lunch? Not impressed. I got the carved turkey sandwich I'd seen everyone posting about. I mean, it was fine. It was real, carved turkey. But that's about it. Now I absolutely loved our dinner there!

On the subject of the grey stuff... I did enjoy it, but what does everyone think it is? DH and I thought it was just vanilla mousse dyed grey...
It may have just been the turkey sandwich. My first BOG lunch, I got the croque monsieur and it was just a bland ham & cheese sammie. Nothing special. No taste compared to an authentique croque monsieur. However, the last 2 BOG lunches I have had the tuna (very good but your tummy has to be in the right place for raw tuna) and the slow roasted pulled pork (very, very good & my top pick). Maybe try again & choose a different entree? :-)

Maybe so. I've heard good things about the french onion soup, but I'm not exactly into eating hot soup during a hot park day haha. DH had the roast beef and that was pretty good. I'll definitely be back for dinner though. I loved their charcuterie plate.

NuttyDisneyDad's post about the Dole Whip (thanks for the idea, NDD! :thumbsup2) had me wondering...

What do you think is the most overrated food item in WDW?

Mine would be the School Bread in Norway. I just don't get it! :confused3 :rolleyes1

School bread

Agreed! didn't like it at all! Maybe it was the flavor mixed with the overwhelming smell of perfume from next door :crazy2:

Mickey bars. Both my sons who got one threw it away without finishing.

And Flame tree. Years ago Was good. Last year, 4 of us ate there, 0 of us could manage more the a couple bites. :(

Cream cheese pretzel in Tomorrowland. To be fair, only had it once, so possibly a bad batch.
Yes, the Cream Cheese Pretzel in Tomorrowland. It was dried out, like it had been under heat lamps for way too long. The cheese inside was even dried out. One bite then I gave it to Push!

Zebra Domes. I made a special trip to Mara at AKL to buy a package, and such a big disappointment. Ate one and threw the rest away.

Great thread.
For me Boma's Zebra Dome.
Also, I found out that Boma's Jungle juice is = Trader Post's signature Moonshine juice is = Golden Coral's Orange Promeganate "whatever" juice.
There you go folks..the power of WDW marketing suggestion. Hahaha
I think my heart just stopped. I would make a trip to AKL JUST for my domes. And that juice is oh so good!

Tonga toast for sure. I had such high expectations based on reviews. Yuck. I forced myself to eat half of it.

We were unimpressed with the beignets at POFQ also.

We are not fans of most of the food at HS.

Had watched turkey lehs with envy for years, big hunks of juicy flavoursome meat eaten like a caveman

And then i tried it and it was bland and dry, was so gutted i put it in the bin!

Also was very disappointed with my first disney cupcake

The Grey Stuff is supposed to be cookies and cream mousse.

As far as things I find overrated: Definitely the Dole Whip. Yuck. I like pineapple but these are just gross.
I do enjoy the citrus swirl though so :confused3
