(And I do have this overwhelming urge to go up to women my age and older in thier SWIM suit tops or tank tops without bras and say "did you LOOK in the mirror this morning? and strap those babies down" I have NEVER given in to this urge, but I swear Disney is full of Glamour Don'ts!)
I call this broken mirror syndrome--obviously they couldn't see how bad they looked or they would never have left the room like that! :rotfl:

There are people who take years and years to save enough money to bring their family for the vacation of a lifetime. And these people pay top dollar to enter the Parks. And these people come to Disney for the clean entertainment.

There are plenty of other places to see sex humor. Plenty of places that are less expensive than Disney. If that type of humor doesn't bother you, then go to the beach. A great place to flaunt sexuality. People actually appreciate an outrageous tee shirt there.

But if you go to Disney, you should get into the spirit of the place.

If you had gone to a CM and asked for the offensive t-shirt to be removed, it would have simply been corporate America enforcing its rules to these people. But as a private person approaching them on your own (and doing it politely) you have given the strong message that there is indeed acceptable behavior in certain parts of society - and it was up to them to choose whether or not they should be a part of acceptable behavior and the spirit of Disney.

Bravo.

Very, very well said. If that person would have had 15 people come up to him that day telling him they were offended by his shirt, maybe he would think next time he goes to wear it.

Well, I'm assuming this is an honest question, and since it is, I'll give an honest answer...but Bush supporters might want to cover their eyes and not read any further:

"GWB...4 more years!"

That's the most offensive shirt I've ever seen anywhere. Truly. :)

OK. :) But see, this one you can then engage in political conversation with your 10 yr old of what you don't like about Pres. Bush.

I'm not about to go into the sex thing with my 10dd at WDW.

I told the young man he could wear whatever he wanted, but his choice made him look like an idiot

::yes::

And in WDW i would have reported him to a CM immediately though i wouldn't have that option most places.

Anywhere i did have that option, school, with his parents etc. I would say something.

I know I'm old, but there's not a thing I can do about that. Instead of whining about my age, I'm glad my youth was when it was. Do you know that in the early 1960's my best friend was sent home from school because her kilt skirt showed a tiny bit of the lower part of her KNEE! Her mother was held accountable for her attire! It was considered lewd and inappropriate! Today, that same skirt would be considered too dorky and overly modest for high school girls. And the parents would probably sue!! I've just read thru all the posts in this thread and I have come to the conclusion that our once sane and decent world has gone to hell in a handbasket, in just a matter of a few decades! Such degradation - sad, very sad.

True enough, but just to me it was the most offensive. I don't have a 10 year old, so I guess I have the "luxury" of being offended by it rather than a sex shirt. Actually, I really wasn't offended anyway come to think of it, just disgusted. :teeth:

My DD17 were at LTT and we saw a guy with a shirt that said "Things to do today" then itlisted several women's names. He was even with a date! My daughter mentioned that she couldn't beleive his date let him be seen with herinit. Although Minnie read it and then pretended to hit him in the head with a baseball bat. That was pretty funny!

Just my opinion...but people are sooooo uptight. It is a T-shirt for crying out loud. I am a teacher, my husband is a businessman, yet we happen to also be very liberal minded. We enjoy reading these T-shirts or a good bumper sticker. We even own a few....
You can't put kids in a bubble...they have to learn tolerance and coping skills.

Not meaning to offend anyone...just offering an alternate point-of-view. And I respect your rights to feel this way. We raise our children to repect individual liberties...even those we don't agree with, and they're wonderful, respectful, and on the road to self-actualization. They are not so shallow that a t-shirt would influence them and I am very confident in my parenting abilities.

Live...let live....and enjoy the park!

Guess some of you guys should pop some more popcorn! :) lol

Come on people- this is ridiculous to fight over. Even though there is freedom of speech in America, that freedom should be used accordingly. Some things are appropriate for some places, while other things are not. Offensive clothing are NOT appropriate for Disney, or any other place that is family-oriented. Walt Disney built these parks because he wanted a place that he could take his daughters that he could play with them. He did NOT build the parks for disgusting clothing, or anything else offensive for that matter. Please people, use common sense when coming to the parks. There are plenty of other places to wear those clothes, just not here. I'm not trying to flame anyone, just please- wear these clothes someplace else! Thank you.

I think what Robin did was very appropriate ( probably would have been better to approach the adults only, but it sounds like it still worked ).

A big selling point for Disney is that the experience will be wholesome and as unoffensive as possible. It's defintnitely up to Disney to do their part to maintain a wholesome environment by restricting offensive clothing, language and behavior, but it's also up to us. If you see or hear something that a reasonable person would find offensive, it is well within your rights to point it out. Doing so in a polite way with both the offender and Disney will help to keep WDW as it should be.

...as an example: Jack Splat; you might disagree with a political candidate, but a shirt or a cap in their favor is not offensive......I'm sure you already knew that and thought that would be funny, but there's no need to make yourself look foolish by trying to offend people who might disagree with you. That's one of the best things about the DISboards, people of all points of veiw get together here to share their mutual love for Disney!

Do you think the CM's would find my tee shirt offensive.

It says "Universal Orlando".

Hear, hear!!!

While I'm in no way advocating the wearing of offensive T-shirts such as "Future MILF" or "Best ride at Disney", I found myself wondering something while reading through this thread.

What would the reaction be, if one of our Gay DISers were to post that he/she was approached at WDW by a parent who found his/her "Support Gay Rights" T-Shirt to be offensive?

Or, what if one of our Christian DISers were approached by a parent that thought their child's "Jesus Christ is the Savior of man" t-shirt was offensive and inappropriate?

I remember post 9/11, I was walking through a mall and saw a shirt that said "Air Raid: Kills thousands of Arabs dead." I'm not Arabic or even close to it, but I couldn't help thinking how if I were Arabic I'd find that shirt very offensive. Yet, everyone that passed by and read the shirt laughed at it. Some even stopped and bought it.

The point is, what you find offensive, the next person might find humorous and the person after that might find absolutely awesome.

Are those shirts appropriate? No, but people could argue shirts that advocate Gay marriage (I'm sure you've seen the "I'm not a Lesbian, but my girlfriend is..." t-shirts) aren't appropriate. People could argue shirts that praise Christianity aren't appropriate. And people have argued that sleeveless shirts, bikini tops and low-cut jeans aren't appropriate.

I think in this PC world we live in, there's always something that someone will take offense to. Everybody has different emotions, different opinions. To you, that shirt that says "Save the Blue Whale" may mean a lot, but to the person whose dad was killed by a blue whale while fishing might not see it the same way.

Just wanted to throw in my $.02.

:rotfl2: :teeth: :rotfl: :rolleyes1

That is great! I would be so horrified! :earseek:

I saw a story on another board from a young man wearing a tee that said "Yankees Suck". A CM approached him and wanted him to turn it inside out. No one could figure out if the CM opposed the word "suck", or thought the slogan was an offense to Northerners and was oblivious to baseball, or was a die-hard Yankee fan. :confused3

In any event, not nearly as offensive as most of the shirts mentioned on this thread.

I have to admit, I saw the "Jesus loves you......." as a bumper sticker the other day, and laughed out loud. But not on a tee at WDW :(

Oh please. Spare us the preaching.

My kids have lots and lots of opportunity to live life outside the "bubble". They can learn "tolerance and coping skills" just about anywhere else (school, the beach, the mall, etc). But on an expensive Disney vacation I want my kids to enjoy childhood.

There is appropriate behavior for specific places and times. When everyone participates in the spirit of the particular event then everyone has a better time. You don't bring a boom box to a baseball game. You don't wear a swimsuit to an opera. You don't wear a "4 more years of Bush" shirt to Kerry rally. And you don't flaunt sex at Disney.

Boy, I'm sure the OP didn't have all this in mind. I'm sure they just wanted us to post some slogans to share and not have a debate...

Every post turns into a debate. Where have you been? :rotfl:

Even the post with pictures of WDW food turned into a debate. :rotfl2:

I just think the people of The DIS are just debating fools.
