What is the most you have ever spent on a trip to Disney? Was there one thing in particular that made that stay so expensive, or was it a combo of splurging on the upgraded hotels, ADR's, longer stays, etc?

I think we've topped off somewhere around $5,000 (for a family of 3). Just curious as to the rest of us DISer's...

our last trip was about 4000, with the free dining if we had to pay for food it would have been closer to 6000. two adults one junior and one child. Next trip, just tom and I at the Poly, lol no total yet, dont really want to see it!

Our honeymoon was very expensive. I think we spent about $7500 :scared1: A few things made it pricey: we bought annual passes because we were there 11 days, we stayed concierge at the Poly (LV too) and concierge at WL and we ate at the Chef's Table at Victoria & Alberts and we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour. It was a very memorable trip and I am very, very grateful that we were able to do it :sunny:

WOW...

THe most we spent was just over $2500.00 - this included airfare, 7 nights at POFQ, Tickets and Food. Our kids were 5 and 2 at the time.....

What a bargain now!

Our vacation last July was our most expensive. 15 nights at GF, lagoon view room and 2 nights at Nick Hotel. Hotel alone was about $4000, plus APs, plus air fare, plus meals I think we spent about $12,000 all together.

OK, this will be the first time I actually took a look at how much money our spring break trip is going to cost.....This is our first "Peak Season" trip in several years. We usually do value season and save money on our resort.

SWA $1100 (for our family of 5)

APs $1800

GF RPC 6 nights $4500

Poly Concierge 3 nights $1400

Universal tickets $400 ish

PBH 2 nights club level $800

Nick Hotel 1 night $250

Car rental 4 days $140

Limo $150

Ugh........food, souvies, Cooking party for the girls.....my Newfie in doggie daycare for 12 days, airport parking or limo to airport......????

I think I need to go take a Xanax.... I don't even want to add it up. :sad2:

This past December trip broke all records for me....2 rooms LV at the Polynesian, 7 nights - $5300, Autotrain at $2000, tickets ran around $1000, about $1500 for food, and another $500 or so for tours and MVMCP. The trip consisted of 4 adults (my mother, a friend, myself and one of my daughters). The combination of travelers made two rooms necessary and my friend had not been on vacation in about 5 years so this had to be special.

Our first trip. We spent about $5000 for five of us at the Polynesian. And then bought into DVC and spent another $11,000 for 175 points.

We spent 5000 last trip. Two adults and two kids. Airfare for two (used points for other two tickets), conceirge at the CR for a week. glad we had the free dining.

Wow! We aren't able to afford very expensive trips. some of y'all get to go on what we'd consider our dream WDW vacation.

Our most expensive WDW trip was last fall- we had never gone for 7 nights before, so we naturally spent more than we had before. Our price list:

7 nights @ Pop, Value season- $600
Dining Plan during Free promo- $0
10 day Ultimate No expire tix (for 2 trips)- approx $950 2 adults, 1 child
OOP for food and drinks- $100
souvenirs- $100
Pirate Cruise for DD and Kids Club for 1 night- $50
MNSSHP tix (2 adults, 1 child)- $100
Gas and food on road- $150

Total- $2000, but our park tickets are covered for our next trip as well.

Room, tickets, food and souviners, probably about 4k. But it was our honeymoon, so it was worth every minute, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

It is definitely going to be our next trip as we are paying for 6 Adults to go to WDW. We're taking my parents, Richard's mom, & a friend of the family that is like a substitute parent.

3 rooms at AKL Pool View for 16 nights with discount= aprox $7200 (we hope)
4 New PAP = $2296
2 Renewal PAP = $1041
Airfare from UK x3= $1510
Airfare from Boston x3=$546
Food??? This is really up in the air. We plan one TS for most breakfasts and most dinners. Typically we don't eat lunch though. And we probably will only be covering about 50% of this.

Why? It's a crapload of money. My parents have visited WDW probably about 8-10 times. I could never convince Richard's parents to go, his mom doesn't love flying. I figured sooner or later I would get them there. Then last April his dad died suddenly, and I regret never getting him to go, because he would have loved lots of things about the place. His dying made me question how long I had with my own parents, among other things. They have never stayed in a deluxe hotel, and I wanted to share the AKL with them. So that is how this trip was cooked up.

This thread is making me feel better, not so alone in our big price tag. We plan the cost of our trip to be @ 6k value, but we have 1000 visa rewards points to use so cash cost will be 5k-ish. We are staying 7 nights BC in peak season, doing La Nouba (all four of us), 8 day hoppers, plenty of table service meals, round trip airfare, towncar service. Should be a blast!

Last trip we were under 5k for 4 of us, 7 nights at BWI because we had a code. Oh well, can't wait to go in three weeks. We do one big family vacation each year, plan and save for it but this is our last scheduled WDW trip for the next several years.

DOES BUYING INTO DVC COUNT (150 PTS $14,500) LAST APRIL AND
HAVE ALREADY USED INT ONCE IN NOVEMBER 05 (SSR) BUT WE WILL GET
MANY MORE TRIPS OUT OF IT AS IT IS GOOD UNTIL 2054 :thumbsup2

wow! My son and I top the list at about $6,500 for the 2 of us for about 9 nights, am I missing soemthing here? we stayed 4 nights GF and 5 ngihts at POR

To the poster that mentioned Visa rewards points...do you mind telling me how that works. I've looked at getting that Visa, but couldn't get any real specifics about that. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread...just curious. :confused3

OMG I think we would have to win a lottery to be able to do a trip like some of these.>!!! I can't even imagine spending $4000 just for the hotel..I don't think we have spent that on hotels total in the 14 yrs we've been married.!!

WE are on the total opposite end...Here is our breakdown from our last trip..

Airfare NWA from Detroit for 5= FREE (with NWA points)
Nick Hotel X 7 DAYS = FREE (with holiday inn points)
Car rental x 7 days = FREE (with Budget points)
Seaworld TIX for 5 people =FREE (with Holiday inn points)
WDW TIX for 4=FREE ( combo of marriot points and amex points,ds was under 3 so he was free anyways)
FOOD AND SOUVENIRS= $900ish
(ok guess we had to actually pay for something...LOL)
_______________________________________
TOTAL COST OF TRIP $900ish
Cost of having DH as a frequent business traveller who earns lots of frequent customer points=PRICELESS

This years trip will be a little more cuz DH doesn't fly as much anymore and we used a lot of points for Christmas shopping before we decided that this was the year...We have to pay for 1 plane ticket ($225), All WDW tix $600 for 3 adults and $300 ish for 2 kids-3 day MMW basic -we have a few days left from previous trips), and food, souvenirs...We should still get by under $1500 or so..

P.S. This is why we can only go every 2 years....It takes DH that long to earn enough points for everything...Our 25th anniversary we may actually splurge and spend real money to do our dream trip...LOL

most expensive trip was last year me and my dad 5,000 for garden view concierge at the poly 7 days that with tickets and air. was a birthday trip for the both of us since his birthday is the day before mine lol now we both hooked on the poly :cool1:
