Moscato Gaierhof wine at Palo

Are you all ordering this by calling directly??? When I pull it up online, even by using the direct link to this wines description posted earlier, it only gives me a message that this wine is not in stock at ReserveWineCellars ?????

I fell in love with it as well! I went online and did a search and found it at a website on sale for $11.99 a bottle. Can't remember the website, because I later found it at Lukas Liquor Superstore here in Missouri. Lukas' is a chain, but I don't know where any others are besides Missouri and Colorado. They had the same price of $11.99. As a matter of fact, I just ordered a 6-bottle case from Lukas last week! YUM!!!

You might want to do a general search on Yahoo! or Google. That's how I found the website (that I can't remember the name of). And then search on Lukas Liquor Supoerstore. Maybe there is one within driving distance of you, or maybe they can ship! Hope this info was helpful

It seems reservewinecellars.com has received a new shipment. I just placed an order for a 6-pack. My wife fell in love with this wine on our last cruise. I hope she will enjoy it like she did on our trip.

Hi: We just received our 6 pack of Moscato. I ordered it on Sunday evening and it arrived on Tuesday. Jan

OK -- so my husband and I had this amazing wine at our anniversary Palo dinner in January. We're not regular wine drinkers, but this was sweet and yummy! LOVED the stuff!

I do know they also have it at Le Cellier & Narcoossee's -- we'll be visiting those in May!

Now that we're home, I've been trying to find it with out much luck. If any of you are fans of the wine, have you had any luck finding places that carry it?

I found the label
It says Trentino Moscato Giallo Dolce Gaierhof year 2002 . Better late than never...

Is this wine a dinner wine or dessert wine? It seems to always be paired with desserts?! Also, is it sparkling?

Also, has anyone tried the Inniskillin Ice Wine(at Palos)? It is expensive, but I heard it is VERY good!

I think it is a desert wine. It is very sweet.

I also found out about this wine on the Wonder. When I came home I ordered a case. When I finished it I noticed in my local liquor store that Sutter Home has a Mascot. I think it is very good and it is only $8.00 for the large bottle. I have even introduced this wine to friends of ours and now they buy it all the time.

You should also look at your local liquor store for Sutter Home Moscato. It is also very good. And alot less expensive.
I ordered a case of the Moscato we had on the Magic from the import company listed here in this thread, and they were great. Gave it to DW for Christmas. She was thrilled. But for a cheap alternative, try the Sutter Home, or some of the other brands that a large liqur store would carry.

It looks as if it is 'out of stock' at the reservewinecellars???

Maybe all of us DCL cruisers have ordered it all up!!! :D

GOOD NEWS!

Just got this:
Hi Lynda:

Thank you very much for your order! We appreciate your business, and look forward to shipping you additional wine in the future.

We have a rather large business in the Gaierhof wines, and ship a good deal of it to clients of Disney who have sampled it at one of their properties. Our business partner, Nicola Biscardo, is headquartered in Verona, Italy, and his company exports the wine to us. Therefore, when you inquire about the wine on the Conexport website, we ultimately are routed the inquiry for follow up.

We have a good amount in stock and would be happy to fulfill any orders. The cost for the 6 bottle package is $99.95 plus $16 shipping to anywhere in the continental US. For orders within Illinois, a sales tax must be charged. Out of Illinois shipments do not require us to charge a sales tax.

We can take orders over the phone at 312-527-5810 at our shop, The Artisan Cellar, or orders can be processed via our website at www.reservewinecellars.com

On the website, go to Italian wines and you will see Gaierhof on the next page. Click on it to place an order.

Count me in as well as a Moscato lover! I can't say enough how much I love that wine. The bottle is cool too. I have 3 bottles left in my case, I think.

I've tried the mondavi moscato, but it is too sweet and can't hold a candle to the gaierhof. :)

Just a note: On our 2001 trip, we tried some wine @ Epcot in Italy (I only like sweet wines) and had an awesome Moscato D'Asti. When we went back 2 years later to buy some they no longer carried it. I found a place on the internet www.internetwines.com (I am pretty sure that's the name). That sells it and will ship it to your state. They find a way..all I am gonna say. So keep that web address in mind just in case the other places don't carry it anymore.

2 1/2 months till our Palo dinner...and can't wait to try the Moscato! We purchased a Moscato in our local wine store and it was sooo sweet, we couldn't drink it! Hopefully, the Trentino Gaierhof Moscato will be just right!!

I am also really into the sweeter wines. I love Ice Wine, Muscats, Riesslings, etc. I recently went up to a few wineries in Napa and found a very good Muscat there. They don't sell to any stores, however, so you have to order it direct from them if your state allows it. Thought I'd share it for anyone interested. I know decent dessert wines can be hard to find. Some are way too sweet (Beerenauslese) while others are too dry, at least for me. :)

V. Sattui Muscat

Rosenblaum Cellars Winery also has a really good Black Muscat that is available in wine shops at least out here. Hope someone else finds them as tasty as I do. :)

I need wine for dummies...

what is "ice wine" ?

:)

My dh loves that wine too.. had a hard time finding it in PA...
Had to order it through the state store as a speciality wine.
apprx. $17/bottle....Hubby was loving it...I will order more near
our Anniv. and Xmas.
So if you are in PA and what it call the local state store it is wine#077231

:cool1:

Ice Wine is very super sweet wine. Made in states/countries where the grapes are allowed to freeze on the vine (obviously not made in CA). Washington state, New York, Canada and Germany are supposed to have the best Ice Wines that I've heard.

They take the frozen grapes and squeeze them still frozen. The resulting juice is very, very fruity and flavorful, but since it's a lot less juice per grape, it costs quite a bit more. I found one that's usually between $20-$25 from Germany. Ice wine bottles are half bottles, so it is quite expensive, but you're only supposed to sip it as a dessert. The one I found I liked best is:

Weinhaus Friederich Eiswein

And the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot is to blame for my sweet wine addiction. That is where I first tasted Ice Wine in 2001 and I've been addicted every since. :)

Has anyone actually ordered Moscato during dinner...or is it bad etiquette? It IS listed as a dessert wine? I love most Reisling wines and want to know how it compares (in sweetness)?

I've never done it on DCL, but I have ordered dessert wines in other restaurants with dinner. IMO, if I'm spending that much on a glass of wine, I should be allowed to enjoy it whenever I like. :)

And Moscato is sweeter than most Riesslings, Ice Wine is sweeter than Moscato and Beerennaulese is even sweeter (almost syrupy).

OH! Perhaps the Moscato will be too sweet for me then?! How about that Fairy tale Cuvee?...is that too dry? I hate dry wines!(I'm a light weight)
