Hello!

My partner and I would love to go back to Disney World this year. We are looking at one of the All Star Resorts. They have great discounts this fall, so we are getting ready to book. There is just one problem - we think 14 nights are a bit short stay, and on Disney's own webpage it is not possible to book more than 14 nights, and if you try to book it on other sites (sometimes makes the stay even cheaper with coupons), the nightly price goes up significantly.

Question is easy - how can we solve this? We are looking at departures around Aug 20th, and about 16-17 nights. We have been thinking about making two seperate reservations, but would we perhaps have to change rooms and everything horrible?

Thanks a lot friendly people,

D & M (Not Donald and Mickey, but almost)

Why not call to book? I am sure a cast member can help you with booking the dates that you want. :flower3:

Another question. If I find a deal that is better than Disney's own page, does anyone know if a CM has the authorization to match that offer?

(Yes, we are loving to save some money)

I just called to check now, it was pretty useless, because the lady I spoke to said she had to make a reservation in order to get the price quote for my stay - the price wouldn't appear in her system before the reservation is done - pretty lame! Some money I will never get back, oh well! :)

I have done 2 reservations in the system at ASMusic. I just had them link them and we didn't have to change rooms. When we checked in, I reminded them that we were staying longer and it wasn't a big deal.

If you can't get 2 reservations at the same place, I have moved resorts before and it isn't bad. Just pack up and they will get your luggage for you and move it to your next resort.

Thank you so much adventure_woman!!!

We will definitely get two reservations, and get them liked as you suggest!

If you want to stay in the same room, the most important thing is to book the same room type. If you book a garden view/garden view, the room type is the same. If you book a standard view/garden view, the room type is different and you are more likely to have to move. The same thing with bedding. If you are booking a resort that allows you to book specific bed types (king, bunk beds, etc.) make sure both reservations are for the same bed types.

I have booked more than one reservation for the same reason, and I did not have to change rooms.

In addition to your room reservation, you also need to plan for your tickets. The largest ticket you can purchase is a 10 day ticket. You can extend that to a degree by adding the Water Parks & More option which gives you 10 admissions to water parks and Disney Quest so in between your regular park days you can do those parks. But, even these are only good for 14 days from first use. You're likely going to need to budget for Annual Passes with that length of a trip.

You're from Netherlands? Not sure about your country but some European countries can book longer packages. Have you tried booking from the UK site? Not sure if that's ok for Netherlands residents or not but I'm not seeing other European areas and I thought that some other European countries use the UK site. They can definitely book longer trips than we can here in the US and they can also get longer tickets (I think up to 21 days?).

Thanks clanmcculloch, but the prices on the american site are much lower than the prices on the UK site. The american site have some special offers on rooms, which the UK site doesn't have. Regarding tickets, we are not going to the parks every day, so a 14 days valid ticket is more than enough for us. (We are only staying 15-17 nights anyway).

I think you misunderstood what I said about the tickets. The biggest you can get from the US site with your package is a 10 day tickets. Being from Europe you can probably buy the UK 14 day tickets but on the US site you can only buy 10 day tickets. They are good for 14 days from first use but they only give you 10 park admissions and if unused they expire when the parks close on the 14th day after you first use them.

Something else in regards to tickets.

A few years ago I wanted to visit for 11 nights. It will MUCH cheaper for me to purchase the Annual Pass than to purchase the 10 day tickets (and have one day of no park visiting).

The reason for this was at the time I wanted to visit, they were offering a huge APH discount for the rooms. I payed $59 a night at Pop for the weekdays and $69 for friday and saturday. My hotel savings nearly paid for the entire AP itself. Right now you can save 20% with your AP at both Sports and Music. Ealier this year, you could save 25%. When I went the few years ago, my savings were around 35-40% at the start of Dec.

With you wanting to visit for 15-17 nights, an AP might be the best option. Not only will you most likely get resort discounts, but you will get all the food/item discounts as well. The 10% will start adding up when you buy two or three meals each day. Plus, you will be able to hop into a park for a quick ride without feeling like you are wasting a whole day of your ticket just for one or two rides.

We are not going to the parks more than 4-5 times (+ 2-3 times at the water parks). Annual pass is much, much more expensive for us. We are going to Florida also to relax, shop, swim and generally enjoy ourself.

Ah ok, well then yes, an AP would not be ideal for you. Although it does make for a good excuse to come back sometime within the year

Yes, I would like to go every day. But when the flights are more than half of the total trip cost (excluding food and souvenirs), it is not likely to happen! :( Oh well!
