I looked on the Disneyland website and couldn't find out what happens if I make PS arrangements and then cancel or no-show. (I only want to know in case something happens- DD is pretty unpredictable about how she responds to dressed-up characters.) If we make the arrangements, are we completely obliged to pay, or can we call and cancel?

Also, we are going to make the arrangements for the end of Feb- not President's Day week- and I'm wondering if I need to call now to make the PS for a character meal, or will I be okay making the arrangements that week on Monday for a meal on Thursday or Friday? I'm just wondering since it is supposed to be a very slow time to go there.

There is no penalty for no shows.

During that time I think it should be fine making them that late, but I'm not sure why you would. It doesn't take that long, so why not do them now? :confused3

No penalty.

I agree with DLR29, why not make them now? Slow time or not, there will be more openings now rather than later, so you might as well do it sooner. :)

60 days. I've only been to two, the one at Grand Californian and the one at PCH Grill (that's the Chip and Dale and the Lilo and Stitch breakfasts, respectively). The main difference in food I noted was that the Hawaiian themed meal (Lilo/Stitch) had rice in a rice cooker. :)

Yeah I agree with the other posters, you might as well make them now, at least then you'll know that you've got them.
On the other side of the coin, the latest you can make a PS is one hour before the time you want. So if need be you can call them in the morning for a lunch or dinner reservation.

No penalty, but it is definitely polite to call and tell them instead of just no-showing. I understand at WDW this is not always the case- some restaurants there apparently require a CC up front.

My only reason for not making them now would be if you did have to pay, whether you went or not.

I don't intend to no-show. I try to be courteous, so unless something bizarre happened, I would just call and let them know I couldn't make it, if that were the case.

As long as there is no penalty, I will go ahead and make the arrangements. Since DD is 4, there is really no telling how she is going to react to the characters, so I just didn't want to make the PS arrangments, find out I had to give them my cc info up front and pay no matter what, then have her flake out and not go. That's all.
