More HIFS questions (shuttle and ent rate)

O.K. I asked below about the entertainment card/rate... what is it and how do I get this card??? HIFS is 86.00 a night with this rate for when we go.

Also, my mom is very concerned abotu the shuttle because she and my dad went a few years ago and stayed at the comfort Inn and their shuttle picked up people from different hotels too. So she wants to know specifically: does the HIFS shuttle pick up only HIFS people.. and does it go right from HIFS to magic kingdom, or does it go to other stops as well?

If you were driving, would you take the shuttle anyway, or would you just drive and park?

I haven't used the shuttle at HIFS but from what I've read on this board it isn't the best.

I would suggest renting a car, it will be quicker and you can come and go from the parks as you please

We did not use the shuttles when we stayed at HIFS in Dec. 01, nor will we use them when we go back in Oct, so I don't have first hand experience. I did, however, research this issue exensively before our trip. If you do a search for HIFS,shuttles or something like that, you will find a lot of information. I do know that the shuttles don't stop anywhere else, they take you directly to the given park. However, I read that you have to reserve space a day in advance, so no changing your mind that morning. We rented a car, and I would highly suggest that. We park hopped on several days, and we would not have been able to do that if we didn't have a car. Also we didn't want to be tied to a schedule. Suppose you are waiting in line for a ride, and just when you get up to it, you realize you have to run to make the shuttle? Doesn't make for a very relaxing time IMHO.

Another way to get the entertainment card rate is if you have a Disney Club Card. It has an entertainment card logo on the back. I called HIFS and checked and the reservations agent said, yes it does qualify.

If that doesn't work for you, then if your mom is over 50, then you qualify for senior rate. The actual rate depends on when you travel. Last year we paid $99 in October. You can book this through the toll free reservations #.

I have never used the shuttle, but I believe it is a van that only runs to their hotel and the 4 parks. Therefore, it may take a while if you are at the 4th park to drop off or the first park to pick up. You must sign up 24 hours in advance and it doesn't hold a lot of people (maybe 15?). We always rent a car and just pay for parking at parks.
