more HH ?s-- drive to beach house or take shuttle?

Which is easier? Is it hard to find parking if you drive there? What time do the shuttles start and how often do they run? I know some folks walk but the kids wouldn't make it back plus having a lot of stuff to carry!

The shuttle runs on demand from 10:00am until 4:00pm- you can just call the resort from the house phone at the resort bus stop and at the beach house and the driver will come transpot you.

The shuttle is very convenient. If you wish to use the beach earlier or later, you'll want to drive or bike. At some times parking is a problem- especially since the lot is used for the public beach access (there is no public access to the Beach House- just the beach itself).

We usually drive down early in the day and again late afternoon and parking is available. If you drive between 10 and 4 you may have a challenge finding a spot- especially during the summer months.

We had our car and always drove because we had too much stuff to even consider the shuttle. I also had having to wait.

Walking would be a LONG trip. I would never consider having my kids walk that distance after a day at the beach/pool.

What is the distance to the beach? I hate to drive anywhere when on vacation.

I think I remember seeing that it is 1.3 miles to the beach house. One other option is riding a bike there.

We loved riding bikes to the beach everyday. It got up warmed up for the beach (in July, LOL!!), enjoyed our day at the beach, warmed up on the ride back to DVC and then swam in the pool for a bit. It worked for us because we had a tag along for our 1 year old and crammed all of our stuff into the other seat, the back and top. May have looked a bit funny but it limited the stuff we took and we had fun. That's all that matters.

We also opted for biking. I hadn't been on a bike in 20 years, but the ride to the beach from the resort is an easy one, and just what I needed to get comfortable again. It's nice to have the bikes at the beach so that you can ride on the beach. The sand is perfect for riding. We stuffed a lot in four bike baskets, so we had everything we needed.

We are going back to HHI this year, and I can't wait for the bike rides to the beach. They were a highlight.
