Done.FYI. In case anyone needs more covid tests you can reorder 4 more.
Some of the expiration dates on the first tests sent out have been changed. Here's an article with a link to find out if/what the new expiration dates are:The first batch took weeks and they expire in July. I ordered second batch thinking a few weeks to ship. I got them in under a week. Expire in Dec.
We got one box with 5 tests.
I had an arsenal of tests because I got a lot from our county for free and then some from the USPS. I figured once someone got COVID in the house, we'd go through a lot and I was right about that. Anyway, I will say that the USPS tests did give me a false negative. I was symptomatic and tested positive with the FlowFlex brand (which is one of the best for Omicron) and negative with the Roche brand that I had. My tests also, to my knowledge, were not affected by extreme weather as I got them in when the weather had been good for several weeks. However, who really knows how they were cared for in the staging facility.
None of the tests are 100% accurate, especially the rapid ones. The new variants are reportedly harder for them to detect, too.
My dad and I tested positive multiple times - a very dark line immediately. My mom and sister had the same symptoms at the same time, but both tested negative multiple times. My mom even got a PCR. It makes the most sense that they also had Covid, and not a separate illness with the exact same symptoms at the exact same time.
I have one of each of those brands,My sets came today also. Each kit has 5 tests. Expiration is 12/22. The brand is either Clinitest or Siemens. Both names are on the cover of the kits.
Thanks for the heads up, LO. I updated the dates on some of ours.I stopped in to grab the info on where to get more tests before and during summer travel and discovered that expiration dates have been extended, I was about to throw 4 packs away so this is useful.

If you need a proctored test, they may want to see an unopened box (so at least be careful opening it, so you can reseal it).Everyone, don't just go by the expiration date printed on the box. Open up the kit to check inside the vial (where you put the liquid inside). That one may have a different expiration date (mine did, by 6 months!)
I'm not sure if the printed dates on any boxes out there match the new information yet but the FDA website has a spot to search for brand name and from there I found the lot numbers with info on whether the expiration dates are extended, all the ones I have were extended. You may discover the tests you have that expire 8/21 can be safely used longer, no harm in looking to be certain. We received in our allotment through the mail last week. They expire 8/21/2022.
Our previous tests, that we ordered in May expire 8/14/2022.
Some time this month, I’ll pick some up at a store, where I can see expiration dates.
