Okay- I have a few more questions...
Can you use your own snorkel equipment on castaway?
Do the characters sign tee shirts at the Character Breakfast? (it might be worth going!)
Anyway to find out what movies are showing?
To use the rainforest room do you just show up there and "pay" your admission? (I bet Rae's Mom knows this answer!)
KNow the hours of the Rainforest Room?
Any suggestions for a good place to beginner snorkel on our own? and how would we get there?
Yikes - I know there was some more but I'll have to post again.....Thanx for everyonnes patience with my endless questions! I promise as a pay back of sorts that I will file an extensive post trip report!

I'm bringing our snorkeling stuff to CC.

They sign anything - but if you leave the item at the desk with a sharpie in a bag, it will get done also.

Often people will tell what's on the ship in different posts.

Rainforest - just show up and use it. It's cheaper if you have a treatment ($8) than pay by the day ($15) but we get it for the week and find that's the best and most economical for us. LOVE the Rainforest! Remember my Mom's face because she practically LIVES there!!! Rainforest is open during regular spa hours, but I don't recall them.

I've never snorkeled so I haven't a clue - but there is a first time for everything. We are going to rent a large bike and ride on the water - so if you see an old woman, a fat woman and a "beigish tan" kid stuck and waving like crazy, it's us! Send help!

On the March 8th Eastern, the spa was open 8am to 10pm.

They will only sign the shirts if they are not being worn (we made the mistake of having our daughter wear hers, and they wouldn't sign it then---had just gone to Girl Scout Camp and there everyone signed while wearing shirts, so I didn't think about not having her wear it--we were able to get it signed the last night when she didn't have it on).

You can definitely use your own snorkel equipment on Castaway Cay. We brought our own snorkels and masks, and rented flippers for $9/pair. You have to wear the snorkel vests as well (required for everyone), and those can be picked up for free on the island.

The snorkel trail on Castaway Cay is a pretty good spot for snorkeling as a beginner - it's well-marked, with lots of fish and other fun Disney things in the water. We even followed a sting ray around for a while! Plus there are a couple of lifeguards around for safety.

I'm not sure about other locations on the Eastern itinerary - we went snorkeling on St. John, but that was definitely more adventurous; we rented a power dinghy and boated around to various spots along the coast. Waterlemon Cay was fantastic, but we had to swim in from the moored boat - quite a swim! Getting back into the boat was another adventure...
