More dog merchandise?

We’re staying at POFQ in a few weeks so I was wondering now that some Disney resorts are dog friendly, maybe Disney would have more dog toys?

When we went last year, I found one dog toy in all of Disney and it was a squeaky waffle toy. Maybe I just was looking in the wrong spots?

I heard POR is dog friendly so I thought I’d walk over and buy a few dog toys for my dog.

I'd be curious to know this also. We were also really surprised last summer at the lack of dog merchandise. We were looking for Disney collars and/or dog toys, but could only find a few things designed for small dogs. They are missing a market here!

I was at POR last week, I think there was a free standing display with dog merchandise at the General Store/gift shop near one of the cashier areas. But I'm not positive! Maybe the front desk at POFQ could call over for you if you weren't going over there anyway to double check?

I'm following this. We're a little crazy about our dog, so of course we'll want to bring something back! Years ago there was a shop at Downtown Disney that sold things for pets. We can never find anything now and we'd love to bring a little something back for her. Does anyone know anything at Disney Springs or maybe the Epcot shops where they have a little something to bring back for your dog?

We searched everywhere for dog merchandise on our last trip after our friend brought us back the cutest Mickey ice cream bar chew toy on her trip. I finally caved and ask her where she got it -- the Contemporary gift shop. We weren't able to make it out there in time, but check there if you haven't!

We were there in November and found some items at the Contemporary. Cute collars, more for female dogs. Small bowls and placemats. There were about 4 squeaky toys, all small. If you have a small dog it's probably worth the trip. For my golden retriever, the toys would probably last 5 seconds. Still waiting for some good solid dog toys to bring home.

We found a lot of doggie things at DHS in the shop next to Starbucks (name is escaping me at the moment). Toys, matching collars and leashes, dishes - lots of things. I have also seen a similar collection of items in Mouse Gear at Epcot, and I would imagine somewhere at MK you could also find the items (although I haven't personally noticed them there).

We were there last Nov/Dec and saw lots of dog merchandise at assorted gift shops in the parks.

One of my friends was headed to WDW yesterday; she hasn't been there for several years. She wants to gift her dog with treats when they return. :lovestruc (We can relate!). I told her to check out the Happy Hound at the Marketplace; I haven't been there, but it looks promising. She'll find plenty else over there to keep her busy as well. :goodvibes

Exactly! Why did they get rid of that shop???

We were there last spring and came up empty-handed too...though admittedly we didn't think to check the gift shop at the CR, which several people mentioned. We'll have to look there on our next trip.

Here now, nearly every store has an end cap of dog stuff. They have several types of toys. Rubber ice cream bars & waffles. Plush ears & Mickey shoes. Braided toys in Mickey colors. Good size tennis style balls.
We picked up the 3 pack of balls, that are soft and have squeakers. He is a 95 lb Shepherd.
I good gift for a large dog is a Mickey back scratcher. Big pups always love a good scratch!

We saw a large display in AK in one of the larger gift shops - I believe Island Mercantile or Discovery Trading. We bought a Minnie Shoe toy there two years ago, and looked at collars this time, but weren't sure which size to buy. But they had several toys, collars, leashes, bowls, etc. I know we saw displays in a few other stores as well. We ended up buying the waffle toy at Disney Store in MCO on way home because we realized we had never decided on which collar, and of course DD could not leave without a souvineer for the dog!

We were just there last week and saw a good amount of dog/cat stuff. Collars, leashes, harnesses, toys and feeding dishes.

Yes, they put these in back last year sometime. Pretty sure it was even before the dog friendly hotels started up. In addition to the above they have collars, harnesses and leashes. Sadly, as a PP said, no harnesses for big dogs but they do have collars for them. We got our guy (8 month old mixed pup hitting 60 lbs so far) a collar. We also got him a cute squeaky mickey ear toy but alas, he's a power chewer and it didn't last long at all.

This is pretty much what we saw when we were there last week. We wound up getting a cute Minnie Mouse collar. LOL, we had also ordered a new plush toy from Amazon before we left for the vacay, so there was something for her to enjoy too upon our return!
