More Countries are Worried about US faking evidence of WMD

I certainly do not believe the US is going to fake evidence of WMD's. I think we have not found them yet because Saddam has taken great care to hide them from us until he is ready to use them. I certainly am not a war expert, but it seems way too early on to make any judgments about why we haven't found them yet. I think we need to give our troops time to do their jobs before we assume there are no WMD's. I pray that I am wrong, but I fear Saddam will use chemical weapons when our troops reach Baghdad. :( My prayers are with our troops!

Just heard a report that the coalition has captured banned Al Samood (sp?) missles. Fox News showed pictures of the captured missles. Faked?? I will leave it to your opinions.

For once I agree with a point that fklhou is trying to make. While I feel that if they haven't found any WMD yet and I feel that they will find some, I think most of them are in Seria or Jordan for "Safe Keeping" Where I agree with fklhou is that they will find some regardless of whether they were originally there or not. There is too much international face that needs to be saved for them not to find any.

Of course one point in a thousand isn't much.

I will go on to say that the president will have no knowledge of this, and it is probably done all of the time, although not by US troops.

Is it a bad thing if it happens? I think not. The key of this battle is to remove one more terrorist stronghold. I think GWB is doing his best to keep his promise on terrorism, and that is why he is loosing the support of people who are just paying lip service to their support of our war on Terrorism.

...that nothing but antidotes and masks have been found. It's not surprising they were found. They're not on the list of things Iraq wasn't allowed to have. In fact it would be wise for any country to have those things these days.
I don't believe such equipment, including chem suits, were issued to every US soldier in Afghanistan or Kosovo. Given their bulk and added weight, you'd only issue them in the likelyhood that they'd be needed. But as a matter of treaty and policy the US and its allies don't use or deploy nerve or biological agents in the field... so whose agents do the Iraqi army need protection against?

As for the missles, the one that recently landed near the Kuwaiti mall was determined to be either a SCUD or Silkworm missile. Both are banned by the UN. Likewise, regardless of the confusion about which type they were, the missiles that were lobbed at Kuwait in the opening stages of the war were tracked by radar and many of them clearly had travelled further than the 90 mile limit set by the UN, so they too were banned weapons systems.

Geoff

There has been no evidence that any SCUDs have been fired into Kuwait. The silkworm is not on the banned list in that it only has a range of 50 miles. The silkworm is a ship to ship missile that was flew low enough to evate the radar of the patriot batteries. The recent military announcements are all that no scuds have been used to date by Iraq.

Hopefully when we find Saddam's "stash" it won't be because he has used them on the troops or on civilians..... I still can't believe people are "surprised" that we haven't stumbled onto WMD yet...

fklhou,

Fair enough... scratch the one silkworm attack. But enough of the other missiles that have been fired at Kuwait were over the limit as to still make the point.
