More Booze, Babble & Bananas

Boring weekend here. But I did get an interesting phone call from my sister in VA. Jake, Maggie & Matt were outside playing on Thursday, having a good time in the back yard. They have a shed in their backyard, a ball went behind it. Jake went back to get it, and stepped on a board from a neighbor's fence--and also managed to step on a nail that was in the board! The nail went right thru his hiking boot, and into his foot. He pulled his foot up, managed to get into the house (Madeline was upstairs in the bathroom, planning to go join the kids when she heard him say "ouch" & "don't go back there") She came downstairs to find him with his shoe & sock off & bleeding like crazy! Luckily, Steve was working from home so he called the doctor while Madeline cleaned the wound. The doc suggested he go to the ER to get the foot x-rayed to make sure that there weren't any pieces of the nail in there. So Steve took him to the ER, x-rays turned out OK, he's on massive dosages of antibiotics & they have to be super careful when caring for the wound. Thank goodness it's all OK--it could have been so much worse.

Good Morning !

Missy that sucks about Jake, poor kid ! I remember stepping on a nail when I was a kid and you had to hurry and go get a tetnis (sp?) shot so you wouldn't turn into a rabid dog or something stupid like that :rotfl:

It wasn't so bad. Snip, snip, pull, snip, snip, pull. ;)

So how was everyone's weekend?? Ours went by too fast. I'm not ready for another long week.

I still say eek, but I'm glad it went well for you

My weekend is gone too quickly. I think since Ryan works on Saturday and we really only have Sunday together and then Monday it is back to the schedule with schools and the extra kids come over in the late morning, it doesn't feel relaxing enough. Like you, I am not looking forward to this week. It had warmed up to 40º and we were practically bringing out the shorts and now it's back to the single digits and feels just so much worse. :cold: Ugh, I don't think I am cut out for living in New England.

OMG, Missy, that sucks. Poor Jake! That happened to me when I was a kid, I remember it went through the shoe, through my foot and then through the top of the shoe. FWIW, it healed just fine and I don't even have a visible scar now. I hope that Jake heals quickly and feels better soon

Good afternoon!!

Missy, poor Jake!! I heard those shots hurt. I'm glad he's ok though. I bet he was scared, I know I would have been.

last day of OT, so I will be saying good night at 4:30 for a while. I will miss the extra money, that's for sure!

good morning! It's snowing here--but I made it to the office OK. wonder how Joanne is doing....

Good morning

I left the house a little earlier. It didn't start till after 2:00 a.m. so the roads were pretty bad at 6:00. Usually the salt trucks are out before it even starts.
