More Boardwalk Villa points being released !

I am not on a waiting list for an add-on, so I assume they are calling all BWV owners.

One more question - MS & sales offices are closed on weekends, aren't they? Why are these sales people using Saturday as the cut off and Sunday as the release dates?

Plus - with the Easter holiday on Sunday - wouldn't that give them one more reason to be closed over the weekend?

This is confusing

I always thought Member Services was closed on weekends but not necessarily the sales department ¥guides¤© ??
Regardless, our guide said specifically he'd be in the office mid-morning on Saturday© Not sure why they chose Sunday as the cut-off day but I imagine the 'deadline' helps to create an urgency among those BWV waitlisters which probably helps to boost sales©

they cannot officially start selling the points until sunday.they have 100,000 new bwv points to sell all use years are available.

Great news for BWV owners. Glad to see they are keeping those points for current owners who wat to do an add-on, that's the right thing to do in my opinion. Perhaps that's also the big advantage of Disney buying back more points, great strategy in support of current members.

Glad to hear it, enjoy BWV owners!

Are you kidding about wanting rooms right out on the Boardwalk? That means every yahoo walking out of the restaurants and bars out there at 2 AM would be marching virtually past your door. I remember walking past those rooms before we bought in. I was always craning my neck to get "just a peek" of what those rooms looked like. I would imagine that people would still do that even if they were occupied rooms and not just models. You could never sit in your room with the drapes open looking out on the view!

The Sales Offices are opened on the weekends.

We drove over on a Sunday and signed our paperwork when we bought back in '97, and I've spoken to guides on Saturday's/Sunday's since then...

Can someon read my post above and offer me some advise on how to proceed if I want Boardwalk Villa?

I just spoke with my guide and he was amazed at how fast the news traveled.:D I have an appointment to see him when we get down there next week.:)

My guide wasn't surprised that I had already heard about it through the internet. She said that BWV owners get first crack, then other DVC owners, and if any points are left after that they'll be made available to the general public.

Routeman,
What is your guide's name? Are you currently a DVC member?

I can't get anywhere with buying into Boardwalk. It may not be meant to be

Yes, I am a DVC member and my guide told me the same thing, they are not able to start selling until Sunday. His name is Humberto Santos.:)

Thank you routeman for responding,

It is the first response I have had today to anything personal or work-related. I work from home and have the computer going in the background and it advises me when I get emails. No emails no return phone calls nothing. You made my day.

I am not a DVC member yet but was trying to get sufficient information to buy into it. I chose Boardwalk Villas after reading so much only to find out they are not for sale. LOL

Umberto was the same person I spoke with earlier. The funny thing is my girlfriend bought from him and loves him.

He never told me anything was going on sale at Boardwalk Villas.

Hello,

I just spoke with my guide Randy Kruger. He is very helpful, factual, no-pressure informative.

You may want to ask for him he has been there since the beginning of DVC.

He just told me sales to the general public will be made available june first.

Mark your calender and dont give up on BWV!!

(dont feel bad im a member and i have to wait until then to buy my add on because i have a june use year and my 2002 points will not be bankable or useable)

That's probably because he believes that all the points will be gone before he's able to offer them to the general public. Just a guess...
I wish I had the extra cash to do an add on. :(

advantages of buying direct:

1.No closing costs
2.Can book with points almost immediately
3.worry free, hassle free(disney is not going to buy them back, paperwork is all in order much quicker)
4.magical beginnings option to sell back your first year of points for $10 a point (its like they rent them out for you)
5.standard contract comes fully loaded(all of your points in place for this year and next year giving you immediate availability of double points for your first trip home.

Im sure there are more benifits to buying direct. I have bought both ways and buying direct was much less stressful for me.

FtMyersGirl-

Sorry your questions weren't directly answered. The news of BWV points coming out is BIG news, and your questions kind of got buried...sometimes it's better to start a new thread if you need a quick reply.

The advantages of buying direct are assurance that the deal will go through (if you qualify for lending, etc.) This is very improtant as Disney has been exercising the ROFR lately, and many resale contracts are being repurchased. Others incluse Disney financing, no closing costs, and starting with exactly the number of points you want. Resale advantages are access to sold out resorts and lower price (in some cases), and small initial contracts if desired.

I am not surprised that your guide did not tell you about BWV availability, as they will be offered to BWV owners, then to other DVC members. However, "you can stay wherever you want" is misleading and not always true, especially in peak seasons or for GV and standard view BWV. I would say to buy where you plan to stay most often. Good luck!

ftmyersgirl,
Make sure if you decide to buy into DVC you tell your guide that your girlfriend referred you, then she will recieve $200. ;)
