Does that mean you have to work late?

Our school bus driver was early again today. I think she just likes to see us run and is probably laughing her head off. Only 4 1/2 more weeks and then we won't have to catch the bus anymore.

We have closing ceremonies tonight for the school :confused3 . You think they would do that closer to it actually closing.

There is a mass and a reception tonight at the school. Nicholas is alter serving again. So my night we be busy again. We were suppose to be at baseball practice too.

Wow Nab- when do you guys go back to school? We have been out over a week. We return mid August.

Moo- great trip report! How cool that you have that memory with your DH. We already knew you were hot. How nice to have proof. ;) But I don't even understand what all those words mean???

So people in the know- when did they abolish the ticket books? My first trip that I remember was in 1979 and I am pretty sure we had a park pass not a ticket book. Of course I was 4 and didn't ride any e-ticket rides anyway. My parents said I had been before that but I don't remember. I think my mom still has a ticket book with a few tickets left in it.... I know she has unused parkhopper days from 1993.

I am tired. My kids woke me up really early demanding breakfast! Can you believe it?

Except of course for Sleeping Beauty aka DS13. I should go wake him now. :thumbsup2

Moo- AWESOME pictures! Love the shorts! Holy cow, I remember short-shorts. I was 10 that year. I LOVE the sex appeal monitor. Very scientific. I totally would have been "Gibby" (??). Maybe Hugable. The characters sure have changed in 30 years. They look high school mascot-ish.

Nab- WHAT about Rosie? Is she officially out? That whole her and Elizabeth tirade was soooo stupid. Very.

Marita- I am rushing out to get some white dress shoes then. And a white belt.

Poohgirl just got here (20 mins EARLY:mad: ) and has been screaming since her mama left. My attempts of comfort made it worse. THAT child hit me in the face when I asked her if she wanted me to read a story to her. She is on the naughty couch screaming. My, doesn't she have a healthy set of lungs? So, to avoid a mama-sized outburst myself, I have her on IGNORE. Where's the MUTE button on this child? :sad2:

Are you a Maxine

OR Are you a Martha?

*Martha's Way*
Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.

*Maxine's Way *
Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake! You are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it, anyway!

To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.

Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix, keep it in the pantry for up to a year.

When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.

Go to the bakery! They'll even decorate it for you.

If you accidentally oversalt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant "fix-me-up."

If you oversalt a dish while you are cooking, that's too bad. Please recite with me the real woman's motto: "I made it and you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes!"

Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.

Celery? Never heard of it!

Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.

The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust so I don't.

Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink!

If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dishwashing gloves. They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy.

Go ask that very cute neighbor if he can open it for you.

Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.

Leftover wine???????????
HELLO !!!!!!!

I have gone the Spongebob Square Pants route too.....hey what ever works...one time little rug rat was being a POOP....he was mean to his mama and I dragged him in and he sat on the floor behind the chair........Left him there and listened to him carry on for a good five minutes........talked to him and it made it worse,..........so I ignored him for another ten or so minutes......and I said.....OH KYLE....spongebob is on.........WOW.......amazing turn around ....boogers on the floor from him snorting and sobbing....but I wiped it up and he was fine and acted like nothing in the world happened for the last half hour or so...........no one here until Noon time...

Twinkie -- School is done June 29th and we go back day Sept 6th? Day after Labour Day.

UMA-- Rosie asked to be let out of her contract and ABC let her. She isn't coming back. They haven't been live since Thursday. Just want to see how they will explain her not coming back. Or if Elizabeth will say anything. I think that show will not be on much longer.

No screaming kids here thank goodness. Now I days I am the one doing the screaming....or yelling which ever you prefer. :rotfl: In one ear out the other.

Moo: loved the pics. A blast from the past. Very cool

Nab: Good morning. How are you?

Twinkie: Maybe a nap? After all you are growing human life, I think you've earned it.

UtahM: A mute button for a child? Maybe you could be on American Inventor or whatever that show's called. I bet you'd win.

T: So, tell us are you Martha or Maxine?:rotfl:

Pumba: Spongebob will do it every time.

I think Little Blue is Maxine now that T.J. is here.

I like wrap celery in foil to keep for weeks. Tammy are you reading....:lmao:

I am not getting to much done today. Hubby called and wanted me to meet him for lunch, how could I refuse that offer.

Drive by

Sorry guys. I am way behind. Did I post this weekend at all? We were very busy. Saw POTC3. They should have hired a writer, me thinks. But I just go to pick up good pirate type expressions. Savvy?

We decided to make a last minute trip to San Antonio. The weather is not too hot yet so we want to go feed dolphins at Sea World. We might do some other stuff while we are there.

We leave in the morning  I need to pack, clean the car, and see if I have to preorder the tickets to get the good price.

So I am out, we should be home Friday night or maybe Saturday night (or Sunday, but that is doubtful).

LittleBlue, I am a Maxine who fully believes she is a Martha. I do Martha stuff with a Maxine attitude. I do Maxine stuff and feel guilty and start firing people. I think I have 2 personalities (moods). But it's working for me!

Nebo updated!!!! Tell him I sent you so he'll shout-out me. SHHHHH! Be COOL though! :cool2:

:lmao:

Twink, I tried looking up "Gibby" in some on-line dictionaries with no luck. It must be an old slang term!

I sure am glad that one didn't light up!!!

Your mom might still be able to use those old park hopper days, but only in parks that were open back then. That would be kind of a fun thing to do. Not sure when they switched over to one ticket does it all. But I am glad they did.

Still pretty slow on the thread today.

Lil' Blue - Loved Maxine vs. Martha!

And am still laughing about wrapping Celery in foil ;)

Utah- go back and edit sumpin' like

This is my big post 4567. MOO-hoo! A special shout out to my homegirl, Twinks- you were my original cool rapper from da hood dispeep who toadily gets how flippin' awesome it is to be a suburban housefrau on the outside and a trip report celebutante on the inside. Also shout outs to all the Moops, Meeps,Poops and Peeps! Keep on keepin it real my gibbalicious friends!!!

Wow- a moo post during the daytime! Yes, I am sure she could use the days. We even discussed doing it- just no AK! They are old fashioned tickets with punch holes. In fact if I was one of WT clients. I could even use my dad's tix because it was pre finger scan.

Hmmm... WT- did I use up my retainer? or do you need more cake? Let me know.

Hi Haley! Sounds like a fun trip. Have a great time. Enjoy the weather. And that you are not moving.

Where is MP???? lunch is long over! I want to hear about her appointment!

As for me- according to the chinese calendar (reportedly about 80% accurate) I found online- Grasshopper is a girl. Of course according to the same calender Golden Child is a girl. So there you go. However a boy would be more convienient AND morning sickness hit hard today. (So maybe pink it is- we don't really care at all- have two of each- this one is just bonus either way) I was violently and repeatedly ill. (Orange ya glad I posted this?) Scared poor Golden Child to death. He kept trying to "help" by patting my back and keeping his face close to mine.

UMA-- I can so see you as a Martha Steward type. Weren't you the one that is crafty and makes wreaths and stuff. Did you ever get your craft room finished?

Moo -- you must have been on your bat phone. It is so beautiful outside today, hope you were outside and not in a bathroom stall...:lmao:

Well I am off to make supper and run again. Still have to iron Nicholas dress shirt he just wore on the weekend. He says he has to wear a tie too. :confused3 I am not dressing up for a tour of the school. The mass is in the gym too.

Haley -- have a great trip. I used to love spur of the moment trips.

Moo - LOOOOVE the pics! That was around the time I went for the very first time! I had no idea you still had to have tickets for rides then. Could you get in the park for free? How awesome would that be now? Sometimes I just like being there, not neccessarily riding anything. But then I'd get mad if I wanted to ride stuff and I had to pay each time.

I just saw that Twinkie had the same questions I did!

Utah - hope your day with Poohgirl is going better.

lil blue - too funny! But I never heard the marshmellow tip. anyone else? Does it really work?

And rubbing lime on your head - yeah it'll stop hurting cuz YOUR EYES ARE BURNING!!!!

And DO NOT PUT ME IN THE FRIDGE! tee hee. :rotfl2:
(This means you, NAB! ;) ) And you too, Moo!
pumba - too funny about the snot on the floor. Not funny to clean up though.

HI haley! Have fun!

Aww - poor golden child trying to help mommy! but people in my face when I'm being sick is not fun. Poor guy. and poor mommy!

Nab - whew! sounds like stuff is super busy your way.

Where IS mommyP?
Hi to anyone I missed!

UMA-- I can so see you as a Martha Steward type. Weren't you the one that is crafty and makes wreaths and stuff. Did you ever get your craft room finished?

Why no, we went to Disneyland instead. That's how we roll. Neglect our home improvements to go to Disneyland/world. That is "Craft Room '08". Which will go nicely with "Backyard '08"....and "Kitchen Remodel and Hardwood Floors 'O9"

Stay tuned!

I'm Bizzarro Martha Stewart. (Seinfeld and Superman reference).

No potty posting here today, Nab!!! Just took a little break and posted from my boring old office.

I have to leave early to travel to a meeting on Friday, so that should make up for starting late today ;)

Celery, I don't remember if you could get in the park free to do things that didn't require tickets. I highly doubt it! That would be interesting to know.

Twink - Gibbalicious!!!!!!!

You and your mom should toadily use those old pre-finger scan tickets!

Uma, I laughed my asp off at Craft Room '08, etc. That is an interesting way to refer to projects that I'll have to try out on my DH, the ultimate non-planner!

Hey everybody!

Busy and frustrating day here workwise!! Supid Holiday messed up all timing.

You could never get into Disney for free, there was an admission fee, and then you could add tickets for rides. Just thought I'd throw that in.

My DS quit his job today :scared1: He has been so frustrated at working 70-80 hours a week. We kind of knew it was coming. He is planning to take some non-stress job until he figures what he wants to do with his life....

I am kind of glad for him, poor kid had no time to even go out and forget meeting any girls!

Back to work for me...... Later kids!

Last edited by TwinkieMama : Today at 04:33 PM. Reason: what was the word between hot and cheerful?
Twink, I think that word is "Prevaricator" or "Prevaricating".

Noun prevaricator - a person who has lied or who lies repeatedly.

Marita, when I first read that, I read it as your DH instead of your DS!!! And I thought, boy, your hubby's injury sure must have ticked him off at Disney!

Thanks for clarifying that admission question. That's what I figured

It was surprisingly warm here today. Too bad I was stuck inside all day.

Oh well, my good news is that the hot tub is finally ready to use again :yay:

Celery I wouldn't put you in the fridge....without foil that is.:lmao:

I heard you burn more calories that way if you are cold....:confused3

Moo -- do you still go in the hot tub when it is hot?

UMA-- That it what we do too. Our basement isnt' finished for that very reason. We like to travel more. People keep asking us that question and that is what I say.

Twinkie-- yuck on the morning sickness. My kids to that too when I get sick. Probably because that is what I do for them and if I don't they will tell me rub my back.

Yes where is Mommy P hope everything is ok. She said she would be here in the morning.

Marita maybe you should get him a job at Disney for the time being. You won't get grandbabies if there is now daughter in law.....well at least girlfriend.
