Hi I haven't read back yet. I wanted to give y'all an update on Grasshopper.

I just got home from my 9:30 am doctors apt. The baby slept all night and was cool to the touch whenever I checked on him (of course his room is chilly). Was hotish again this morning but no time to worry straight to the med school graduate.

They listened to me. He did not throw up but did demonstrate his terrible cough. They ordered bloodwork, RSV test and a chest x-ray. (He didn't have a fever according to their thermometers- glad I didn't rush to the ER to find out my thermometer is wonky). Still waiting on the blood cultures and the films but his white count was elevated and he tested positive for RSV (respiratory virus, no biggie in kids or adults, potentially serious in newborns).
He lost weight since Monday and our concern is the potential for rapid dehydration between the virus and the preexisting projectile vomiting. Soo, I am supposed to hang out at home, try to force fluids and wait. The doctor will call later this afternoon to discuss the results and hear how well he is eating. He may have to be hospitilized over the weekend.

wow...i thought the anger beavers.....show.....were....gone ....forever.

dear wt...lets talk a lil'football?...shall we? ..............i am trying to decide
"where's the big money"...will be won~ by what outcome?..will be the deciding
factor..between the bcs games. therefore, i was expecting....michigan &
kansas...as winners. i thought, the usc/ ill. game ...was "to keep everyone
from suspecting"..., poor sooners... ..however, forget the score....
the game was decided on the onside kick.....* i think, the sooners were
about..to roll all over.....however,

if one think about their attempt...to change "opponent" from the
mountaineers....to v. tech., then this "puzzle"..made alot of sense....or
should...i say...cents? & one can imagined...how that "attempt"....went
over....with the mountaineers...players....

pitts versus west v., may not be as well known....like other rivarlies...
except...between.....the 2 teams. pitt came in after being stomped
..not just last year..but like the last 5 years...& "pitt"...was a much
better team...then the record...* they beat...a very,very good cincy
team...so, it wasn't as shocking....as one first thought?


when did the "cotton bowl" ..became a "tiny insignifcant" bowl?
wowwwsers....they are wiping out....alot of great college traditions....
like the game between, earl campbell/joe montana ....* i just despised
how they destroyed..the old southwest conference.....


..now a "real" major issue...with my observations....regarding the major
bowls...is the "home field..advantages...the pac 10 ,& swc has....since
these games..are on their home field. no one seem to recognized...over
the years....wonder if illi...would have played better...if it wasn't
on usc home field? * this to me, is a very unfair advantage....& have
porduced....inaccurate victories....[ 79 rose bowl...was not won by
usc...as the "re-play"...clearly illustrated....usc fumbled the winning
score...on the 2 yard line...."michigan won that game". ps, i hold
a very low opinion...of them.... .

oh, noticed?....both teams that we're set up for the championship
game..until the last week, of the regular seson ..... , mizzo &
mountaineers....won...their bowl games? interesting, huh?

while...i am hoping the lsu/ bucks' game....is decided by the palyers...
will be very good....based on talent....the 2 teams match up well,
but lsu..is a "senior team"...but the bigger advantage...of
palying on their home field...however, if the "ball"- [ not referees] ,
goes osu's way......they will win...after all...look how lucky they
have been..all year.....

the reason..i think...the colleges...need to do corrective measures..
is for the benefit of the players....like the rose bowl rings..the 79'
mich. team ..deserved..but never awarded.....& that's why i think
there need to be "an established ruling body"...to prevent some of
the..stuff going on..



oh, fyi....ladies..why? do lil'things.....that produces the same results?

* our trip, was not a disney trip , per say..as we only did 2 days in the
parks...& spent a week going to universal.....but it amazing ...how much
stuff....we got into! & the people we met....may "our" time....very special,
in~deeds!



oh,,,moo, guess..who we got caught up with..."on the rides" ???? "the
spartans"....very interesting....i'm telling you!....* they were very nice
& excited....that someone "recognized"...them....* so..i knew they
were going to play a great game against boston college...


wt, i think...last year game....both teams were "cheated"....cos who
knows...what the final outcome..would been....without the manipulation?
we're never know. ,just saying, it would have been a different
game....*not that fla...would have lost.....they need to make sure..the
players....detertmine ..the final score.....so both teams...can feel good!

* ya kno? moo, msu out played them..except...the crazy bounces the ball
took.....you should feel proud!

DTD....The quiz WAS hard yesterday!!! (WTG TWINKIE!) DTD...so cute just picturing you watch football with that tiny baby on your lap.

Hee hee. Just wanted to quote that. It WAS hard. Who were those people? And DTD, I love football season when my babies are tiny. Mr. Twinkie is happy to sit and rock them for hours. How great for the mama to get some rest knowing her baby is in good hands.

Yes, Nab, portable house phone next to me on the couch by the remote. I mix it up sometimes by picking up the phone to change the channel

It went back to high of 63 today, and in low 70's next week, YAY!!!!

WoooHoooo!!!! Glad it is gonna warm up a little down there! Getting very excited!!! My daughter's about to bust. I think she is as excited about the plane ride as she is about Disney!! She has never flown.

DH has gone!! He is camping - yes its still VERY cold and snowy here!! He's winter camping - teaching adults how to teach Scouts to camp in cold weather. Yes, he's nuts, but I love him!!

Nab I can almost imagine the stomach flips you must've felt after bumping the bumper - hope it all works out!!

Marita I've done that twice so far today - my cell is right next to the remote, which is right next to the laptop!!

I'm trying not to stress over the BCV ressie - I know it will all work out, I know it - but I dont have anything but an email with the confirmation ressie number... dh called and emailed the guy to make sure we're on the ME and the DDP - still dont know for sure!! So in my panic I posted on the event/comp thread, and Carrie PM'd me with her cell and said we can stay with them, so WHEN I call to find everything in order on Jan 8 - I'll know I have a back up plan!

Tomorrow starts the FREE Ballys Fitness/Discovery health challenge - I'm going to hit the treadmill and figure out what I'm wearing!!

I'm hungry. No food. No kids here! DD went to the neighbors, DS went to airport to pick up fdil, and DS #2 is mia - maybe I should call his cell phone!

Sandy - I stopped in Fleet Feet today. (in between the dentist, Target, lunch, and my nieces birthday) I talked to the guy about getting new shoes for a race I was going to run a week from today. Well, he looked confused. I know he was thinking there aren't any races scheduled for around here. I told him that we were going to Disney to run a 5K. He said that he was going too. He is running the Goofy! For those of you who don't know, that means he is running the Half on Saturday, and then running the Full Marathon on Sunday. He said it would definitely help me. I didn't have time to get evaluated, and I told him I would be back. He told me to come back after I dropped the kids off. I couldn't do that because it was an ice skating party, and I didn't want to leave dd, and then have her get hurt or something. I would have really felt like a bad mama then. Anyway, my SIL forgot to get tablecloths, so I ended up having to run down to WalMart and buy a couple to cover the nasty tables they had. A fun time was had by all, but I was worn out. Maybe I can go tomorrow.

I just got a new red paisley/floral/tapestry chair for $15! Woo Hoo! It's super cool. It ties in my red wall in my living room nicely. I love getting a bargain like that


Misty is coming over tonight to do our Twilight bracelets based on the books. One crystal heart and one howling wolf on sterling silver. You have to read the books to know what the Sam Hill I just said.

Speaking of Misty, she just updated her TR on the Disneyland TR threads. She's too modest for the shameless plug, but I'm not...heh! Her MIL is a TREAT I tell you! Oy!!!!!!!! I'd have not been as sweet as Misty, and I'm pretty "nice". At least that's what they say.

Speaking of sweet, I just skimmed your last post, LIL G. I mean I read out of loyalty and adoration, but didn't understand it since it was sports. What was there to do at Universal? Would I like it there???

I dont like potato soup - but I've made the LeCellier CHEESE soup - I must say it made a huge difference when I made it with more expensive cheese!! and do you have whisks Moo? I just got a potato masher a couple of weeks ago (at Goodwill, dh was thrilled!! Seriously, he's wanted one forever, but i keep telling him the whisk works just fine!!! I also have a pie dough fat cutter inner (technical there I know!! it has a wooden handle - and then wires loop from one end to the other a half circle shape thingy - it mashed taters just fine if you ask me!!)

Dh is going to make split pea soup - blech!

Crocs smell??? really? I hadnt noticed!! I love them new!!

There are Scrabble Web sites that have word lists, like q without u, that are pretty helpfu!

I did try the whisk, but it didn't work, so that's why I used a fork and then a slotted metal spatula. I looked at the pie dough thingy and decided that wouldn't work very well on the potatoes in the liquid! I like split pea soup, but only a couple times a year - gonna have to try making the LeCellier soup sometime . . .

Took Matt to the ER last night.

I was debating this and boom he breaks out in hives from head to toe, hug brown bags under his eyes and the white were red!

That's all I needed.

His second chest x-ray looks worse than the first. They changed his antibiotic and put him on Zithromax Z-Pak.

Hoping this will help. I didn't hear him cough once, we didn't get home until 1am. Another 4 hours in the ER.

I just want my baby well.

I have a hard time having time to devote to facebook and that other site. But I do love some Scrabble though. I have a few Scrabble dictionaries even.

I found my Scrabble dictionary when I cleaned out the hall closet!

I know what you mean - I haven't had any time this week to check on-line during work. And I figure Facebook is strictly an evening activity.

I had the Zpack once and it is so fast acting........your son should feel better fast with that....

I have been introduced to another game on the net......called weboggle and it is driving me nuts......amazing that I still have my sanity...

Z-packs have never worked for me! I guess it depends what bug you have or maybe it works better for some people than others.

I don't even dare try Weboggle. I tried Scrabble Blast and liked that, but was too cheap to pay for the download after the free trial ran out.

OMGosh! DON'T get me started on snoring! Someone in my house (in my bed) snores so loudly, I NEVER get a good night's sleep. I think he has sleep apnea. I spend hours staring at the back of his head...wondering if he'd be pissed if I smother him with a pillow...

So between that, barking dogs, meowing cats, kids who wake up and feel the need to tell me they have to pee by loudly whispering in my face, my own bladder, and too much caffeine, I have had to turn to ambien to sleep. It's just nicer than murder. I haven't had a decent night's sleep in 18 years.

OK, Wendy - that just reinforces that you need a ladies only trip to WDW!!!!!!!!! See if you can get your hubby in for a sleep study. If he has apnea, he'll feel more rested if he gets a c-pap, and so will you because they pretty much stop the snoring.

That's cool, Lil G! My BFF was down in Florida visiting family and they went to the MSU game, even though she is a Michigan fan. She went to the MVMCP while there, but only spent that one night at a park.

My Spartan coworkers also thought it was a fairly goog game.

Matt's Dr. apt.

His dr. looked at the x-rays and doesn't agree with pneumonia. His diagnosis is an asthmatic bronchitis condition. Gave prednisone for the hives. They are gone now.

Inhaler for the breathing.

Keep him on the Z-pak.

Matt asked to eat twice today.

Feels lilke the fever is breaking.

I love his Dr. I kept Matt with Dr. Gary when he split from the other Dr. my other kids see. He specializes in Allergies.

I ruled out everything else from yesterday that was different for Matt than usualy and concluded that he reacted from the Amoxicillin.

I think my dinner tonight is going to be a piece of ring bologna (cold) eaten with a hot chicago roll.

I think I like chatting better than scrabble though! (Probably cause I suck at scrabble )

Oh, we went out to lunch today for the last day for an intern. A place called Cici's. All you can eat pizza, salad and pasta buffet for $5.49. Plus they give a $2.50 discount to disney CM's. I dont see how they make money.
I had 2 slices of pizza and a garlic stick. cost me $3.06. But a bunch of people really pigged out out. So the really made out, but I am not complaining.

Oh, and by the time we were done, I asked to just drive home and work from home the rest of the day, LOL. No sense driving back 20 minutes to work, stay and hour, and then drive the same 20 minutes back the opposite direction.

Hey Monica- glad to hear some progress is being made (hives are AWFUL).
Yes I am watching my little man like a hawk- he has had a couple of scary coughing fits and just sleeps all the time. Too tired to eat.

Anyway- chest films looks like, yes, you guessed it RSV- no pnuemonia thank goodness.

The doctor is calling in his labs to the children's hospital and I am waiting for Mr. Twinks to get home and then we are being admitted. Well, just grasshopper but if they think I am leaving my baby they are wrong.

Of course Mr. Twinks has to work tomorrow but I have already called our hotT college chick babysitter who didn't even groan at the 6 am time to be here as she really likes my kids.

WendyMelindahas a room for bounceback - we should all hound her and do that girls only trip!! I mean, you know Melinda would rather do girls only and we all have so much extra income - and we all know our DH's wont mind!!

lil G I had to at Cel and Wendy's post - hey, it wasnt about the Bears y'know! Now I have a picture of my baby in Bears Clothes, sitting on my lap, and I was all BEAR's decked out - it was THE SUPERBOWL!! DH isnt into football mind you, but I am hooked!! I had a couple of wonderful aunts that would drive 10 miles to miss the Dallas Cowboy Blackout rent a room and have a party - girls only!! I learned all about Defense etc - it was wonderful... Its even better communicating that knowledge with my first born son!!! and nothing like calling my dad 4 or 5 times during a game to give him the score (he's moved to FL and they dont televise the bears games!! it annoyed the heck out of my brother!! BONUS!!

dh is calling - he says there is 3 feet of snow and he pitched his tent, no stakes tho!! but he's getting a steak dinner!!

Marita Pumba I boiled 2 eggs, made a bechemele sauce (white cream sauce thickened with flour sorta) used my grandmothers egg slicer, and cream chipped eggs on toast!! YUMMMO!! (I'm having steak tomorrow, I just decided!! lol)
