Twinkie, prayers for Grasshopper! I am sure he will be fine!
Glad you got a HotT chick babysitter.

Sandy, that reminds me, I need a new egg slicer, I jotted it down on my shopping list.

Here is a recipe I like with eggs:

Toast some bread
Lightly fry some slices of ham in a frying pan (regular thin sliced ham)
Butter the toast
Place ham on toast
Fry eggs
Place eggs on toast over ham
Melt some cheese (I use American of Velveeta, but whatever fries your pan, I think the original I learned in germany used something else, but I cant remember what) in frying pan till melted, pour over the sandwich

YUMMY!!
Probably not very Peep friendly, though.........

Pumba, I am guessing this would not be be a good use for your fresh eggs for you either?

Mony, glad your son is improving  I have had asthmatic bronchitis before and it is nothing to mess around with. If his breathing doesn't improve with the inhaler, I would suggest that you see about getting him a nebulizer which is much more effective. The steroids should help reduce the airway inflammation.

Twink, I heartily agree that you should stick like glue to your baby

More prayers sent.

Please do keep us posted.

I am nursing the remnants of a mostly averted migraine tonight. Started getting the blinky lights, but excused myself from a meeting to take some tylenol and guzzle a bunch of water. So if my typing is a bit off, that is the reason why.

Sandy, your hubby is somewhere with 3 feet of snow??! :scared1: Hope he can stay warm.

Forgot to say earlier that DH's new Crocs were ordered from crocs.com, so they had NO time to air out. I think they smell terrible, but I am very sensitive. I soaked them in hot water with vinegar, but the plastic is still off-gassing. It just takes them a while to air out.

here is a good recipe for my eggies..

first put english muffin in toaster....
take one little bitty sausage and
cook in water for one minute (cause its frozen)
drain water and scramble one egg in the cut up
sausage.....
when english is done put one slice of cheese on it

and put egg mixture on for 40 seconds on microwave
when it is done take out and put one half on each side
of the english muffin and close up....cut in half and enjoy

hardly any bad carbs for me

Twinkie-- At least if Grasshopper is in the hospital there hopefully will be a lot of eyes on him to help you out. Your family is in my prayers.

Moo-- I never had a problem with the smell of my crocs either. :confused3 But I know you have a sensitive nose.

We are suppose to get warmer weather this weekend too. We are heading to the in-laws tomorrow for our Christmas on that side. My MIL is feeling a little better but not much wants us to come anyway. I will be cooking for them, sounds like they need a break. My FIL does all the cooking now so he will love this part.

Gosh Twink, I am so sorry. I am thinking about you and 3rd Base. Good luck.

Moo, you and your sensitive nose would NOT do well around my boys. (or me) ha.

OMGosh! DON'T get me started on snoring! Someone in my house (in my bed) snores so loudly, I NEVER get a good night's sleep. I think he has sleep apnea. I spend hours staring at the back of his head...wondering if he'd be pissed if I smother him with a pillow...

So between that, barking dogs, meowing cats, kids who wake up and feel the need to tell me they have to pee by loudly whispering in my face, my own bladder, and too much caffeine, I have had to turn to ambien to sleep. It's just nicer than murder. I haven't had a decent night's sleep in 18 years.

Utah, try an elbow to the ribs of the offender, then turn around really quick and act like you're fast asleep. Works every time. :rolleyes1

Moo, the smell of new Crocs gives me a MAJOR headache. To the point of almost making me nauseous (super-sensitive sniffer here!) I've tried lots of things to kill that rubbery smell, but so far the thing that works best is to leave them out in the sun for a couple of hours.

Does anyone want to share the recipe for Le Cellier cheese soup? I Googled it, and found several recipes with conflicting ingredients and directions. I'm wondering which recipe you guys use. Sandy? Moo? Anyone? :flower3:

Monica, I invited you to play Scrabulous. If we can't measure up to Moo, we can at least compete against each other. :rolleyes1
She's only ahead by 40 points at the moment, but I'm sure she'll rally on her next move. Heh.

Twink - Group prayer was sent up for you and Gabe at chat tonight :grouphug:

B, like I said at chat, most natural smells don't bother me as much as synthetic chemicals. Even active boy smells. I think it is due to some solvent exposures I had over the years.

L, I'm glad I'm not the only one!!! Wish we had some sun to put them out in. I shut them in his room. Because I too believe in the Marita method of snoring avoidance!!! But he doesn't snore much with the c-pap so vacations are fine.

I don't have the LeCel cheese soup recipe :( I have also seen recipes on-line though. I'm going to try the cheese soup again soon.

You should definitely start up a three-way game of Scrabble with Monica AND me! That should spread the goog letters out better :dance3:

Consider it done! Let's hope Monica is up for it!

G'night everyone!

I am going to try to disassemble the christmas stuff.

Wish me luck!!!!!!!!

I thought I got the recipe here...

heddar Cheese Soup
Canada Land, Epcot
Makes 1 Gallon

Ingredients:
1 lb Chedder Cheese
½ ib Bacon
5 ounces Butter
5 cups Milk warmed
1 cup Celery diced
1/16 cup Leeks diced
1 cup Red Onion diced
¾ Cup Flour
1 Quart Chicken Stock
1 ½ tsp Tabasco
3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ ounce Ale
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions:
Slowly Heat Milk
Brown and render bacon
Add butter and melt
Add celery, onion and leeks and cook till translucent
add flour and mix into a roux
add chicken stock and simmer for three minutes
Add warm milk and stir vigorously to thicken
Reduce to low and add cheese and melt
Season with salt, pepper, Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce
Just before serving add warm ale

but that's not how I made it!!

allearsnet maybe?

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients:

1/4 lb. smoked bacon finely chopped
1 medium red onion cut into 1/4 in. pieces
1/2 cup finely sliced celery
1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
3 TB all-purpose flour
3 cups whole milk
2 cups chicken stock
12 oz. grated white cheddar, Canadian Black Diamond
3 dashes Tabasco
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup Moosehead Canadian Ale, room temperature
salt and pepper to taste
1 TB thinly sliced chives

Method:

1. Cook the bacon in a large heavy-bottomed, non-reactive soup pot over medium heat until wilted but not browned.

2. Add onions, celery and carrots and cook until the onion is translucent and bacon has crisped.

3. Sprinkle in flour and stir constantly for 2 minutes. Stir in milk and stock, a little at a time, blending well to ensure there are no lumps. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

4. Remove from heat and whisk in cheese, Tabasco, Worcestershire and ale. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve with your favorite bread and top with chopped chives.

But I didnt add celery and carrots!! (I dont think I've ever tasted carrots and celery, but they probably have one of those emersion blenders so there is no chunks in their soup!!) and I cooked the bacon first, then I chopped up an onion (I only had a yellow onion! Chopped it very fine, and then cooked it in the soup pot - I had the reserve bacon grease I used to cook that onion...- I added some bacon to the soup and saved some to sprinkle on top!!! Here's another tip, use a wooden spoon when you add the cheese and stir in a figure 8 pattern!!

Do use whole milk - I used 1% milk, but I did 1 1/2 cups milk 1 1/2 cups of half and half!

Yes, this is the recipe because of the brand of cheese and ale - I didnt add Moosehead, I think it was sam adams - a heavier ale (not Coors Lite!!) but its so little, you get to drink what you dont pour! :rolleyes1

Thanks, Sandy! I like the looks of the second recipe better.

Thanks for starting the three-way game, Lynette! I took my turn. This should be fun!!!

* first things..first.....,pardon

me?....let me explain...the boards can bees...soooo misleading.....

so....to clear up any cloudiness....& lingering fogeys....or overcast

doubts.....i need to go on record.....as being a pack rat..worst , i

sorta have a few traits...that bring out the worst....of it. i have
this tendency for disorganization & untrained thoughts. :headache:

..& this strange power.....that causes others..to give me stuff....
lots of it....

the problem arises..when trying to find said stuff, especially when
iam looking for it. :rolleyes1

can you imagined...doing a disney vacation....with such a fella.....
should lead to a greater apprication...for my lil' cutie, :flower3:
..she deserve a very special award or trophy. really!

however, here to say...i do have those sports ill., but somewhere...

& when i do....i going to add..a few more surprises wt! :thumbsup2

ha! alan page.....& the purple people gang...go vikings! of all teams
deserving....a super bowl....none more....especially tark.!

...do not be mislead...with ramblin's man.....i live life....by spontaneous
combustion...fussion, with fission! soooooo one might think , very lil'
stuff can happens...in 2 days......would be an undertaker ..of sorties!

"thinking" may be a hobby...but only in reflecting.....cos when iam on the
moo've....i make noises while letting my "feelings" be my guide...i can be
right next to my wife one second..& 30 yards the next. & i take pics...
that by comparsion- those on the "disney site"...nothing like'um! * thinking...
slows me down..so what i discuss here' , is not a coping tool...but a
documentary... of looking backwards....:upsidedow.

( however, the good thing about bringing up the past...is providing both
accurate and useful input. the only time..i ever make up a story....are
the ones i designed my cartoons around..pssst, even those have a
reference to reality....)

..nabby girl?..i was not happy..when some questioned..if my first trip
report...was actually-  ! what the heck?!!! after that, i did
leave out...some of the most interesting parts...........fyi..i have no
use for making up or changing...true stories..becos, my ways of
thinking.... it will destroy the merits of any adventure. & here's another
benefit..of telling the truth..it's easier to recall....becos....it never
changes..once you lived the experience....* remember nabby g.???? i made
that my title? "are you experienced"?..disney world style?

because knowledge is an on going process.....dosen't mean to forget the
things..you already experienced...[ by my ways of thinking, all of our trips
-the good ~ bad & in betweens..will enriched our future trips ] . like,
"hey good lookin!..what you got cooking?

* where iam understood...or not, should not deter the paths...you want
to take....heck,...i don't even try to set any type of limits ..on our kids...
which drives my lil'miss crazy..* but some of the results....have truly
been more than a lil'magical....

ahhh , here's a professional secret..as it is a "kicker" too! because i like
exploring different ways of thinking..has become..my most sucessful
intervention...i don't need my pts/clients...to "come around" to my ways
of thinking..instead....i go to their...& then begin ..the corrective measures.
[sooooooo you understand....the best things, we can do..is too illustrate
the ways...they can ...help themselves. ] oh, very few with serious
dysfunctional thinking, ever "see" the need for help..soooo there are many
running around.....even here, on these boards...sooo be careful!

pssst, over & over, corrective measures..are just lil'reminders of the things
our parents passed on..isn't that interesting?

there something..to the saying......do the things today, you want
to remember tomorrow...is the best way to avoid regrets,..now if you are
thinking..iam always anyalzing ever lil'thingy..boy, you sure don't kno
:wizard: ..bout' me....! :smokin:

* be-cos...we used a "building" process on all our trips....leads to alot
of "potential things" happenings...& they did..even though we spent only
2 days..at the parks... . the name of this trip..." pain & panic...
together again as they go-go gallivanting liked kangroos all around,
thru and around disney world...until dropping!" ...
would be appropriate. or "mr. porky ate disney world for breakfast,
lunch, and din-din!"

did you think..that story about "hitting" bottom...was made up?..you
would been mistaken.....dearest moo...i was up front..@ universal..taking
pics..of your/michigan staters' band. [ i got to know the mother of 2 of
the members...
cos they were late.....& she helped me get some pics...* i had sum trouble,
getting them..the cheerleaders kept "jumping & tossing"..in front of me...
:) ..well..i am not very tall & these girls were and distracting tooo ;) !

* butttt, why mentioned this? :confused3 ..shame on disney's managers!

 . i can't tell how disappointed..i was to hear what this mother informed
me...they offered to play @ disney..and was told...they could....* if
besides playing,.....pay $50 a "pop" {per student}. do you know
how , hard these students..work..to develop into a+++, top~notched
band??? of course, you do...this is shameful!

oh, wt??? traditions....this mother & families...also experienced..the ohio
state marching band....& "talked about" how thrilling...watching the grand
enterance...into ohio stadium....& how impressive..if you ever
get a chance...it's something....no one ever forgets...even if you're on
the other team....was the message..they gave me!

i believe..nothing worst than wasting time...except, wasting time hurting
others. & if that holds merit, then one of the best way to experience the
magic..anywhere, :rolleyes1 ..is helping others. i also feel, an act of
kindness is never forgotten...& one of the best ways toward happiness.

needless to say, we sure had an adventure! pixiedust:

GOOOG MORNING! :sunny:

Chat was EARLY last night and I STILL missed it! Dangit! I was trying to finish Twilight so I could move on to New Moon. I could only read at two-page intervals because DS would come in to "chat" with me every few minutes.

NAB....Sorry about the fender! I have had a coupla  fender bender type accidents and nobody ever calls me back. Probably too much trouble to be without your car for just a scrape.

TWINKIE! Poor Grasshopper! I'll be praying for you guys!

Monica! Honey! I'm so sorry about the ER but I'm glad Matt is better and you've got a goog diagnosis and some meds that are working. Is he allergic to penicillin? I am.

Marita....Your recipe sounds like an Egg McMuffin. I'll take one, please!

Pumba....DH likeS fried eggs over-easy so I use a biscuit cutter to cut a whole in a piece of bread and just crack the egg in the middle. Makes it easier to turn when it's time. Fresh eggs are good and should be enjoyed in their almost-orginal state. My eggs are used mostly for French toast, pancakes, and cookies.

Sandy
....Did somebody say girls trip? For real? I have one room at POR. I've already talked to DSIL about taking my niece and going with me and Em. If DSIL doesn't want to go then I would be open to a girls trip. :cutie:

Wendee.....I laughed everytime I read the snoring post. DH snores too. I used Lynette's method mostly but more recently Marita's method. I am now sleeping like a baby...except for the loud whispering episodes. OH...and Twilight. Good read! I don't know about the bracelet yet. I just started New Moon. Mimi was 344 pages into Eclipse and there were 30 pages missing from her book!!!! I KNOW! She took it back to Target last night to get a new one! I think Mimi's in love with Edward....I mean who wouldn't be. The knowledge, wisdom, and experience of a 100 year old man in a smokin hot 17 year old package....what's not to love? Although generally I prefer my men warm. Just sayin.

Lynette.....Elbow to ribs...works every time! ;)

Lil G.....If an act of kindness is never forgotten then that lady in the dark will surely never forget you!

ANNOUNCEMENT: (uh hemmm)
I just did a spell check and ran across Merriam-Webster "Word of the Year" for 2007 and the word is:

1. w00t (interjection)
expressing joy (it could be after a triumph, or for no reason at all); similar in use to the word "yay" Example: w00t! I won the contest! (I personally think it is a cheap knock off of woo-hooty)

Running a very close second (I'm sure) is....facebook (verb)!!! HAHAHA! So lets all facebook each other with no shame. It IS a word.

EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Amen. In my job I get plenty of chances to do this. Believe me, plenty. I just need to remember to do more of it. Time's a wasten. It might be my New Year's Motto. Thanks Lil G. You are right about Tark too.

Good morning Melinda. We can always count on you to be near the top of the morning with a crazy happy post. Strangely, I now kind of look forward to them. 3rd Base.

Am I in some alternate universe? Thanks, WT.

I'm awake!!

What is wrong with the dis clock? IT canNOT be after 10 :scared1:

Marita are you ok? Cleaning? after midnight? Sounds like a disease to me!!

morning everyone.....

I was so excited this morning.......MY one egg that I make my breakfast thingie out of was ...DRUM ROLL.........a double YOKER...........It was beautiful........can you imagine MOI saying how beautiful this egg was.....dang goog.....

Megara jumped in bed last night with us and commenced into SITTING down hard on me......she has a way of dropping all her total weight on my side or head........whereever she decides to drop.......she is about 65 lbs now....she is on a diet too and should be down to 58 when we go to Florida....so she can weigh in at the vets ....she has to get a kennel cough shot befoe she can go to the fat farm.....i mean the kennel.....

it is ten this morning when I looked at the outdoor temp thing......definite heat wave from the last two morning wake ups......we are in for a bigger heat wave though.....should be up to the 40s and a little rain......that hopefully will get the snow off the metal roof of our house.....we own a three story apartment bld......we dont rent any more ....to old for that stuff.......and as soon as we finish off cleaning out my moms stuff and fixing that apartment up ...we will probably look for a one story ranch.....with washer and dryer on main floor......it will probably take us a while to clean out the JUNK in the cellar too.....we have alot

you were always a nice guy WT.......be kind to yourself too.
