Please do! DH got 150 pieces, no way we are distributing them all tomorrow. We live at the end of a cul-de-sac on the last street in the subdivision, so we dont get all that much traffice usually.
And the ladies in the office are on a diet. And probably not a good idea for me to eat them either. So come one, come all, I will post an estimate of the available leftover loot tomorrow.

Sounds like you had a pretty nice lunch, Marita!

I didn't realize that the main Saratoga Springs buildings were leftover from the Disney Institute. You learn something new every day!!!

DTD, I tried to get a photo of Donald and Daisy during the Halloween parade, but my flash recovery was too slow. I had that problem a fair amount. I need to read my camera manual to see if there is any way to speed that up. I think I even had put in fresh batteries that day.

What is ever stranger is that the main check-in/restaurant builing is the same as 30 some years ago, when it was the Lake Buena Vista Golf Club house. And I helped to work on pro-formas for the villas I cant remember now (eek!) but they are torn down now (They were the Townhouses, Treshouses, Fairway Villas, and the ones I dont remember now!) Anyway, a lot of change over time.
OK, bedtime, Happy Halloween!

Ok, that was a confused post, sorry!

GOOG MORNING, SUNSHINES!!!

Count me in on the candy party. For sure.

I predict we get very little work done at school today. :teacher: The excitement level was already super high yesterday. Are anyone's kids allowed to wear costumes to school?

bfn.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! :sunny:

It's finally here! Now I won't have to answer the question "How many more days til Halloween?" for almost a year!!! There's a party at DSs school today and then trick or treat from 6-8! He has decided to go to the school party as a TMNT. Who knows what he'll be tonight. The forcast is sunny and 68! :)

DTD
....Thanks for the article! Isn't he a great guy? I really hope he gets to take over the head coaching position when Rich Brooks leaves...which should be soonish. He's past retirement age?! And it was exciting when FSHS won the state championship our jr. and sr. year. Joker was the star wide receiver....so talented. Always nice that he goes back to do football clinics and fundraisers there too. RE: Lady Toppers game...let me know and I'll stop by so we can have a little DIS meet! What is BMOC?

Moo...Thanks for the pictures of the parade! Now that song is running through my head! I just looked at the package tracking and the photopass CD is out for delivery! Yay!

NAB....Pumpkins are cute! So glad to see that Hannah is feeling better!

WENDY!
....I was in the jury pool for September!!! But they NEVER called me in! I was excused for the week we were at Disney. Anyway...I hope the same thing goes for you! It's just hard not knowing from one day to the next if you'll have to serve. I was called to district court which usually only hears DUI cases anyway so no big whoop. Circuit court hears the long drawn out cases....or the worst is serving on the grand jury....lots of "service" time in there....for $12.50/day. And there is no law here that your job has to pay you for doing jury duty! Which is wrong...I think. Think of all those single parents. :sad2: Anyway, now they can't call me again for at least 2 years! :)

Everybody have a wonderful Halloween! :wave2:

Moo: I'll forgive you for the Burger King guy, since you included a pic of Cpt. Jack...even though it took forever to load on my stupid computer.

Who watched nip/tuck?:woohoo:

Diet Coke is the breakfast of champions!!

Moo.......I saw the pumba and the timon........I love them......I being a female, dropped the A at the end of my name so I could say I am Ms. Piggie....Pumba.....

Celery.......the lottery is for the moose and an any deer permit is just by chance too.....but I only can get a buck......oh well......I have three set of antlers over my head and another big one is my moose......we dont do faces just the antlers......hubby fixed them up with a big wooden holder with our photos on it.....I remember when the game warden came to the house after hubby had been home for a month.....and he returned his pieces of the gun (which we donated to fire safety course) We showed him how hubby did the plaques with photos on it and he was really interested.........This game warden is one of the toughest guys in Maine and very thorough with his investigation.......almost to much.....he interrogated my son and our granddaughter while my husband was in surgury.......this made me upset.....I think they wanted to prove that one of them shot their father or grandfather.but the wardens that found the pieces of his gun up north verified that the gun was blown to bits...Took a long time for our gd to talk about this ......she still doesnt like to. But she is coming home this weekend from college to go hunting with her papa......

We did our pumpkins tonight.

Nicholas doing his. His was starting to go bad but he said it made it look scary with the bad spot.

th_DSCN1581.jpg

This is the first year Hannah did it all by herself well mostly by herself. :woohoo:Dad helped a little and I didn't have to do any this year. Usually they start and I have to finish all of them.

th_DSCN1586.jpg

Finished products.

Hopefully no one smashes them overnight.

Nicholas gets to crave one in school tomorrow too and Hannah has her Halloween party in class.
I'm craving chicken pot pie lately. Over 600 calories for a measely pie tho.

We carved a Mickey jack o lantern and put it on Misty's front porch to surprise her when she got home from Disneyland....it lasted 2 days before some PUNK smashed it in the street :sad2:

Melinda Plus everyone-
You too!
I couldn't sleep. I woke up all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 4 am. I SHOULD bring in the kids with me. I won't. I want it just to be over because if it's just lameo cases, it wont even be entertaining. Unless there's dumb people involved (no offense dumb people).

Did I mention I finally filled my open daycare spot and have a child starting Nov. 1st? The money is insanely needed I can't even emphasis enough. Christmas...bills...food. NONE can be paid without my income. I'm so nervous, I'm making myself sick about it.

But I'll call and plead my case and hope a single mother is in charge of the jury coordination, because two of my daycare families are single mothers.

Gotta go get ready for the Halloween parade at my kids school. Pokemon trainers they are. Plus Norah's a witch tonight. Maybe something else to go to the parade today.

Oh, I really think y'all who drink coke are nutcases. Wackjobs. There, I said it. ;) I guess we can still be friends since your lousy taste entertains me. ;) (I'm SO kidding, in case you didn't notice the ;) !!!)

Have a Frightful Halloween! I'll be back "on" after we get back from the school festivities.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!!!

My little goblins are off to school and pretty excited. Don't think they will be getting much school work done today. They were having Black and Orange day instead of costumes. It was pretty cool to see all the black and orange on the playground.

Moo -- Hannah has your clips in that you gave her, thanks again for them.

Marita-- I am with Moo. Love to see you in pigtails, maybe you should dress like that when you give out your candy.....:rotfl2:

P.J. -- what a great day to be a teacher!!

I love diet coke too....sorry UMA.

Hope everyone has a great candy filled day....except for you Pumba. We don't want that blood sugar up.

Don't think I ever had candy corn. Seen it but I don't think they even sell it here.

This is me with my new under-aged BF. He followed me around the Haunted Mansion and thunk it was funny to do his grim look rightbehind me, right over my shoulder... whatever floats his boat! This is my witch costume.

Hi- peeking in! A busy day today... the day after October 30th and all.

I did end up making one costume. Princess Twink is going as a "karate girl" and Twinkerbell will be wearing the floor length pink gingham ugly as homemade sin gown I whipped up. She will be Lil Bo Peep. Goldenchild gets to come with me to the kindergarten party so he will be a pirate. We may change before Trick-or-Treat. Or not.

Right now, I should be making dinner in a crock pot but I am so tired today. Of course I haven't had my breakfast of champions yet today.

Great pictures everyone! Wendy- I love your costume.

Lots of my candy stash is "missing" already. :confused3

Oh and Twinkie's Method of Avoiding Jury Duty

Every time I have been called I have been nursing a baby. I have been excused each time. Easy Peasy. Didn't even have to bring said baby into the courtroom and threaten to nurse during the trial. Ha!

Hi everyone!

I had my appointment yesterday. Everything is fine. I am still measuring a week big, which is great if it means an early delivery. Not so good if it just means another giant baby. I've only gained 18 pounds. Yahoo! My poor sister(we had our appointments together) gained 14 pounds in 6 weeks. For a total of 20 pounds so far(she's 24 weeks). She freaked, but I told her it's okay. I think it was just her body quickly catching up and giving her baby a safe place to grow. Besides she still isn't even to my pre-pregnancy weight. lol! I go again in 2 weeks and then 2 weeks after that and then it should be every week. Yay!

My cookies were a bust. I had to substitute a box of cake mix for flour becaues I was out. I should have still added more baking soda, but I didn't. They were a flop. But still tasty. lol. The whoppers were crushed up in them, not whole.

I pulled a Wendy and didn't read back. So if I missed anything too exciting please let me know. ;)

Luthor - Here they call you for jury duty all the time. Chad mostly gets excused, we use the excuse of if he is at jury duty and not at his job he will not be making money to pay the bills and his mind won't be on the case. It worked all but once. He literaly got another notice 366 days after he served. It sucks. I have only been called once.

wendy!!! we need a big pic of that witch costume!
and we still need to see the kids!

I've been wearing the clips moo got as well.
I guess they were for Jeanie, but I need them.
I bought some more too and when she's here, I let her wear them, but if they went home with her, we'd never see them again.

I took the day off.
I'm sick.
cough
cough

ha.
not that it matters. our sick time and vacation time is the same unless you're sick for 3 days straight.
so we're going to the foster care people later.
hopefully, if they will see us without an appointment.

guess what?
since Mike is still in the hospital, crystal needs help tonight - so as long as tammy's feeling ok, we're going to take jeanie and anthony trick or treating while crystal watches quentin and gives out candy.
:yay: :yay: :yay:

I can't believe people smash pumpkins where y'all are! no one does that much here.
out in the country, they smash mailboxes.
but that's about it.
did misty get to see her mickey pumpkin?

twinkie - we need to see pictures of the sewn creation!

Since I KNOW you are all interested in my edumahcation, I'm posting what I did for homework here.
Hehehehe.
It's supossed to be a discussion question about scripting - a communication theory.

Scripting is a very controversial concept because the theory states that much of what we communicate is what we learned as children and not necessarily what we have determined to be true on our own. One example that is given is that it is normal and acceptable for a coach to yell at his or her team if they perform poorly. (pgs 262 – 263) I think the most interesting examples of scripting to me are those regarding religion. I came face to face with evidence that I am guilty of scripting recently in a workshop I attended for my church. I go to a gay affirming United Church of Christ (UCC). We have become the fastest growing UCC church in the southeast conference and as such, we are at a crossroads on how we want to continue our ministry. Key members of our leadership team in the church recently had the opportunity to have a one day session with Mike Piazza, president and former reverend of the Cathedral of Hope. The cathedral of hope is a gay affirming church in Dallas, Texas with over 3,500 members. He started the presentation by letting us know that some things he would say would seem foreign to us. I immediately smiled to myself. I knew they would be foreign to other people in the group, but I understood that when you have a large church, things like the budget must be looked at from a business standpoint. Then he said something that shocked me. He said that in the 80’s his church did not sing the hymn “Nothing but the blood of Jesus” because it was distasteful to members dying of AIDS. How can that be? Everyone KNOWS that the blood of Jesus washes away our sins. There’s no need to even associate it with AIDS because Jesus’s blood is the epitome of purity. When I realized how disgusted I was, I stopped and examined why. It’s because I have been scripted since I was an infant that blood washes away our sins, so it seems natural to me. A new Christian who did not grow up in the church might not latch on to the beauty of Jesus’s blood because they have not grown up with the scripting that reaffirms it. Spending the day with Piazza has caused me to look at religion through the eyes of the unchurched people we want to reach. Information about the cathedral of hope can be found at http://www.cathedralofhope.com/ .

I'm waiting to see what kind of a reaction I get from my classmates.
Religion + gay = scary!

Celery- I skimmed, sorry. I started to read. To make a heroic effort and be a great friend but my reading/skimming/thought process went like this...

"Scripting is a very controversial subject...blah, blah, blah, ohhhh I love controversy! blah blah...coach yells at his team...Ack I hate when they yell...gay affirming church... ooh, I wonder if the guys dress better than the gals? Jesus's blood is the epitome of purity...absolutly. Lucky for me he died for my many many many (infinity) sins blah blah....reaction from my classmates..hopefully they won't judge, Jesus NEVER judged."

Every time I have been called I have been nursing a baby. I have been excused each time. Easy Peasy. Didn't even have to bring said baby into the courtroom and threaten to nurse during the trial. Ha!

I got dum dums and Smartees so I wont touch the candy. Until my kids bring home chocolate and I will be forced to make sure none of it is poisoned !!! :rolleyes1

I got out of Jury duty once because I was nursing too but the baby in question was well over age 1, so I'm thinking that won't work again. Her being a 3 year old and all. DANG mammories :lmao:

I did manage to TELL THE TRUTH and get an extension till February!!! I'm so relieved. I practically skipped a meal I was so distraught!

The parade was adorable! These smart-alecky 6th graders dressed as the 4 Teletubbies and received a thunderous applause! It was hysterical!

it's official. we can't be foster parents because of tammy's lying, murdering, incestuous family.

so I cancelled our visit with jeanie and anthony. because I just don't think I could bear seeing them right now.

but Mike got released from the hospital, so it should be ok.

and I'm being bad and drowning my sorrows, but I don't know what else to do.

tomorrow's another day, right?

Tip for the Day ! (for those who have children who will be Trick or Treating )
When checking candy and putting in piles (IE the hard stuff you do not want your kids to eat, but they get every year because it is the cheapest to buy) Do not make a pile of snack size candy bars for yourself:cloud9: and when they are not looking hide them:confused3 stay away from those snack size candy bars or if they are lucky (FULL SIZE CANDY BARS ) also
They are the DEVIL!!!!!!! okay now back to my regular program of iron and folding Laundry... and also
Happy Halloween!!!!!
