that is such a unique idea........bottled water and canned fruit.......hahaha.........One year I gave out halloween pencils ....kids liked that ....and another year when a dime was GOOD......I gave out a little container with a dime in it.....
The rug rats that I have cared for or continue to care for got a good size bag of cheese curls or chips......they always choose what they want.....

I have two giant bags of cheese curls for our two youngest grandkids and also they are getting fruit snacks......

The LL Bean site still has one of those back packs for 9.95 with no shipping and handling.....it is sort of hawaiian looking.....but cute ....

I'm enjoying reading about everyone's Halloween nights and lexi's Disney nightmare!

Pumba, that jacket is really cute. Much more fashionable than bbn's Carhartts ;)

Have to get back to work . . .

Wendy - I can't imagine someone smashing a pumpkin from your front porch! In our old neighborhood, which wasn't filled with nice upper class people, we never had a problem. No one ever took our pumpkin. Of course, here we don't have neighbors. We didn't have to worry about candy, not that we could have since we were at church. lol

Celery - :grouphug:

I'm just working on my grocery list and menu for next week. Plus school. Everyone is calling my name and or screaming bloody murder. :headache:

Have a good day!

Hey gang.

We had a goog Halloween. We drove to my mom's neighborhood, since there's no neighbors here in mamacantfindya.

Caleb's Burger King costume got LOTS of comments. Quite a few people were freaked out and then they asked him for a Whopper. Lots of high fives for the boys Colts costumes. Everybody asked them who was going to win the big game on Sunday. The boys looked at them like they were nuts and replied "The Colts, of course" We can only hope.;)

and quite a few people didn't know Julia was Sally from "Nightmare Before Christmas" b/c they had never seen the movie!!! I might post a pic here or there later, if my computer would load them. I told her if she'd been at Disney, EVERYBODY would have known. I think this is her last Trick or Treat. It's definitely losing the magic for her.:guilty:

Thanks for sharing all your Halloween stories!:thumbsup2

We actually had trick or treaters last night. I was amazed. We had two sets.
I have no idea what they were dressed as since it was after I had drowned things quite a bit.
Thanks for all the hugs, y'all. I appreciate it.
We'll figure something out.

It looks like nicholas wore my eye patch I gave him! Yay! :yay:

lex - I have disney nightmares all the time. pretty similar to yours - I never get to a park cuz I forget.

So have we decided to make DIET COKE the official thread drink? I found 4 12 packs for ten bucks today, so I'm ecstatic.

You Know? I really used to like you :snooty: (LOL)

I'm half tempted to put you on IGNORE :scared:

Coke Zero is sort of, marginally, remotely ok. So you can drink that

Hello everyone!!! :wave2:

Hope y'all had a nice Halloween. I had class until about 7 then I went to my friend's house to help her finish handing out candy until 8 and then we went to a party. Today was a loooooong day. I was tired from being out last night and the kids were all on a sugar high at first but then they crashed and it really just wasn't pretty. It was also All Saints Day. Keeping in mind this is a Catholic school, let's just say it was quite the production!

And, most importantly....
CLASS FOR TONIGHT WAS CANCELLED!!!!!!!
I think I'm going to head to the gym and then I'm meeting my aunt for dinner. Since hotT college chicks never pass up free food. Duh.

Yes Celery that is your eye patch. He loves it and goes will with the costume.

Boy it turned really cold today. I guess it should be expected since it is Nov. after all. The clocks go back this weekend too.

Pumba -- nice jacket. Did you buy it?

They are trying to lower prices here to go with our dollar. It is about time. We have to pay so much more for cards and books here it is crazy. Just look on the back of you cards or books and look at our Canadian prices.

Walmart is suppose to lower more things too to compete with the cross border shopping....:woohoo: That would save me some time waiting at the border. Hubby still is talking about going to the Big Christmas Store though.

Last edited by NAB : Today at 04:42 PM. Reason: Nicholas counted his chip bags from last night....61 bags.
That is crazy, Nab. I never even heard of giving out bags of chips for Halloween. Fruit, yes, water, no either.

Off to make something for dinner.... French Bread Pizza (frozen for your (or my) convenience)

Slow day today. Are you all in a sugar coma?

I gave all the boys haircuts and we went to Walmart to grocery shop this afternoon. I can't wait to have everyone alseep in bed and sit down to watch Survivor and CSI. I love quiet time after a busy day!

I even cooked dinner when I came home from the store. Speedy Chicken Enchiladas and a salad.

We are planning a day at the beach on Sat. This time it is forcasted to be sunny weather. Infact we are supposed to get our first real cool front. It is going to be a whopping 83 degrees instead of 90. Yay! Hopefully the front comes through on time or our day will be rained out, again.

I was down a pound and a half since my appointment on Tuesday. I LOVE this pregnancy! Maybe I can actually have a normal size baby this time! ;) (disclaimer: I am not trying to not gain weight. Just eating healthy with only the occasional treat.)

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of myself for staying in the grocery budget every week! Of course I have not been able to afford to buy diapers for the baby(I had been buying a pack a week to store up), so that might pose a problem in about 8 weeks. lol I guess we'll have to cut back somewhere else, like toilet paper. ;)

I am off to shower. Have a good night everyone!

Evening, everyone! I am still somewhat on sugar overload today, MP . . .

I thought that might be the eye patch from Cel and Tammy!

Cold here today too.

Yeah, Pumba, did you buy that jacket??!

Would that BIG Christmas Store be the one in Frankenmuth, Michigan? :santa: I hope so, because I would love to see your family again and meet your hubby!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

For a limited time (please do not quote) I am putting up a photo of a couple of my coworkers from yesterday.

*POOF*

The guy on the left who did not dress up is on my main project team. We spend LOTS of time together in meetings and such. His wife is also on our team. They are both terrific to work with.

The guy on the right is one of my fellow engineers. You don't quite get the full effect of his costume (can't see the cowboy boots or the gaudy earrings), but he was the hoot of the day. I was hoping he would dress up like a pirate :rolleyes1 because he would make an excellent one, but he gave us lots of laughs instead!

Moo -- funny. He could have a least went with a dark wig with that bread. I will let you know Moo if we come your way. I would love you to meet Hubby.

I am afraid to count the chocolate bars. He still hasn't really sorted it all out yet. And all he has had out of it is one bag of chips. They give alot of chips because it is the cheapest thing to hand out.

Mommy P-- I would love your cold front. We are the 40's in the mornings now and with the wind it is brutal.

Survivor was pretty good tonight...sort of watching C.S.I.

I know, Nab! But the blonde wig was SO funny!!!

Mainly because it was always askew.

Funny pic, Moo!

I fell asleep for at least an hour tonight. So happy tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!!

Are you working from home Marita?

The kids are off tomorrow. So we are going shopping for a few things. Then I am sure McDonalds will be our lunch spot unless I can talk them into something else. Not Burger King. We are not fans of that one. :rotfl2:

Ahhh, what a day! Ya know that feeling of finally putting on your pj's (no offense PJ) and having all the kids in bed, finally? It's like a huge sigh at the end of your full, FULL day. TV time, DIStime, ME time.

I don't have that feeling quite yet, but my boys are in bed (it's a school night) and Norah and my two late night daycare buddies are watching Meet the Robinsons. Yes, they're here a couple days a week from 12:00 noon to 9:30 p m so their mother can be in her work's training. They're "good" and I'm being compensated well for this for 2 months (I kinda need the money with XMas fast approaching).

I took down the exterior Halloween lights and tomb stones, etc. and will be focusing on Autumn/Thanksgiving this weekend. Busy, busy, busy!

Where IS everyone today?

I know Spongie got a new toy tonight. I won't blow her surprise but I'm hoping to borrow it  We're playing McDonalds Monopoly together. We need one more for the million! Well one more for all the spots actually. We have BIG plans for our winnings, yessiree.

No, Nab, I have to go into work tomorrow:confused: Unfortunatly. Maybe next Friday!

Wendy, my Halloween decoration consisted of 1 funky I dont even know what it is orange candleholder looking thingy with pumpking shapes that I put on the TV, and I put it away tonight. So Halloween is over (except for all the leftover candy, which I had about 3 packs of tonight:rolleyes1 )

You are taking us all to Disneyworld     YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, thanks for the teaser about Spongie's new toy, Uma! ;)

Glad to hear you've got some extra money coming in for Christmas :woohoo:

I got my longevity payment in my check today, but most of it was spent getting the puppies. I usually use it for Christmas, so hubby and I will only be doing stocking stuffers this year. Goog thing I don't have too many people that I have to buy gifts for.

Nab, hope you can make it to the Christmas Store for a visit!!!!!!!!!!! I would even take a day off work for that!

Well, hey, it's something! I'm proud of you!

Thanks! I don't know about "extra" money...but it will help a lot.

My boys are getting to the electronic toy age. Smaller gifts that cost more.
I'm pretty careful on budgeting, but this year I have to be extra crafty.

Your co-worker would so make a great pirate! Or biker. I can imagine how entertaining he must've been! So in touch with his feminine side...LOL!

Whew, my late night day care kiddos just got picked up at 9:30. The mom was soooo appreciative. The little 4 year old girl asked if she can stay!!!! Which is the ultimate compliment in my book.

I usually don't go to bed until 10:30 or 11. LOOOOng days, thank goodness they're well behaved. Unlike my kids :dance3:

It's like taking your bra off after a long day...an audible sigh of relief!!!;)
