Good morning!

We finished school at around 9:30. That might not seem like much time, but we were sitting at the table starting at 6:50. AND thankfully everything today was pretty easy. I'm going to make chili for dinner since it's nice weather! We've been able to have the windows open since Saturday. It is supposed to stay like this through the whole week! Yay!

I am feeling better. I felt really horrible yesterday. Every gland in my head/neck was swollen, but it feels much better today. I plan on going outside to wash the windows and clean the webs and bugs off the front porch. I also need to get the new little dresser into the boys room so I can get jeans out.

They cleared our lot on Saturday and he is supposed to get dirt there today! Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunatly, we have to get rid of the debris. We are going to get a group of church boys and have them help. We'll just drag it out of site for now until the dirt has a chance to wash away and the branches dry out. Then next winter all that dried up wood will make great bonfires. ;)

I am off to make sandwiches and get outside. Kaleb is whining at my side about going outside.

Have a good day!
sorry you were not feeling well, but it sounds like you are today. I have double pain(Pane ,but yes they are...)windows and i wont even clean the bugs outta them. you Go Girl!!

Get THIS- My daycare buddy who is a little 18 mo. old boy was just dropped off in big-boy underpants :scared: . His mother insists he goes pee in his potty chair. After prying nicely, I asked how long she was sitting with him in the bathroom after he drinks his sippy cup? 20 or 30 minutes is what she replied.

I'll let that sink in to the non-mamas who may be reading.

AND she claimed buying diapers is getting to be too much money.

AH HA! She's wanting ME to potty train a child who is about a year away from being at all ready. BINGO!

I said I would put him on the pot and if nothing happens for 1 full minute, he will be put back in diapers. I would happily place him on the pot after meals and sippies, but I have a LOT of kids to keep an eye on and will not be waiting 20 minutes to CATCH the pee. I'm sure even the child is amazed he's doing anything at all.

I was very professional and proud of myself, I must say. She has no idea she was put in her place :cool2:

AND, now I want a bagel.
 that is insane ,mayson is 2 and even he is not ready . i can't believe what the parents want you to do with their kids, i agree ask for a bonus ...;) In my best stephanie tanner voice. "HOW RUDE"
how is that diet puppy are you finished with it? i am still drinking mine, there is a sign up at holiday that say's any size fountain drink 89 cents (i forgot to tell ya .....
well i am off to get ds from pre-school have a great day :goodvibes

It has been a weird day here. My power went off and on all day.

It was driving me crazy. Did force me get some of my housework done though.:lmao:

I'm glad my potty training days are over. Hannah was really easy, Nicholas not so much and he was 3 or so when he finally got it.

I hate that it is so dark already. Nicholas wants to go out and play but it is wet and cold. I am mean and told him to stay in.

Pumba-- did you get a new outfit? Nov. is a strange time to get married. My Mom's anniversary would have been on the 8th. If my dad was still alive it would have been there 54th. Then my brother came along Jan 2nd.. you do the math...:lmao: Then my second brother came Jan 5th the next year. After that she took a 5 year break before she had the rest 2 years apart.

Spongie -- are you going to do a trip report?

Speaking of trip reports I have to go check out UMA's

Marita, I think you're thinking of the Spring-time daylight savings time. Tomorrow if you get up at 7:00 am, your body will still feel like it's later (8:00 am) for a while.

Yes, you are right. I was confused. My thinking went something like this:
Turned the clock back today, therefore it will be earlier tomorrow, thus I must be at work an hour early :confused3
Aren't you glad I don;t handle your finances?

Uma, glad you are feeling better. The noive of that mother:sad2:

Twinkie, sorry about the pink eye:sick:

MP, YAY on the site clearing :cheer2:

Celery  on the job sitution. been there done that... And I have no clue about that email.

Pumba, unless you find something new, go with the red and black! Glad your foot feels better!

Everyone else, HI!!

Ok, off to read Uma's update.........

Ditto on Marita's post!!!

It has turned very cold and windy this afternoon/evening. With rain to make it even yuckier

Think I'll turn up the heat a little.

I made spaghetti with meatballs again for dinner. So easy and tasty with the Schwans Italian meatballs. In fact, I'm waiting for the Schwans guy as I type!

Well, no dirt on the lot today. However someone did get out there and put up the stakes that the dirt is to be put inbetween. That's something.

It took me quite some time to wash just the front porch, plus trim up the front flowers. Chad came home early and helped me with the back lanai and windows. I wasn't able to do as good of a job as last year, but it's as good as it's going to get for 32 weeks pregnant.

Twinkie - I was feeling much better today. The windows have to be cleaned and there is only one person here who is going to do it. It's a once a year thing, at the first cool weather you clean your windows and/or porches and that's it until the next year's first cool weather. In the summer everything gets so full of bugs, but you also can't even open your blinds for fear of a $300 electric bill, so dirty windows don't get seen so much. ;)

Wendy - Sorry about your daycare buddy problems. I think I would have laughed in her face if I had been you. No way I would put a 18 month old on the potty unless they(the 18 month old, because mine did. ;)) asked.

The chili was super good. I have even folded 3 loads of laundry today, there is a load drying and another load to get started in the washer. It never seems to end.

I was also able to pull out Ethan and Kaleb's jeans and long sleeve shirts and got them into their new dresser. We have to have 2 dressers each during winter. One with our normal cloths, one with jeans and long sleeves. Because one day you need jeans and the next your bathing suit. ;)

Good night everyone.

and those who need a jolt to get their Monday going have a cup of coffee (or Diet Coke, for you sane people)
You just called me sane, for the record. Diet Coke, breakfast of champions. ;)

Twinkie...sorry about the pink eye. Sounds like you've got the situation under control with your mad Dr. Twinkessori dosing skillz.

Wendy....glad you're feeling better.

Moo....sounds like we're sharing weather with you. It was absolutely gorgeous today but then all of a sudden this afternoon it started storming and now it's pouring. Wassup with that? :confused3

HI to everyone. I am so tired it's not even funny. I slept last night so I don't even know why but I'm completely exhausted! Maybe because class tonight was beyond boring. I could freaking teach that class.
Homework time. :sad2:

Last edited by TwinkieMama : Today at 11:07 AM. Reason: of course people have been tracking me down to tell me induction horror stories

AACK!!! Don't listen to them. Stick your fingers in your ears and holler "La La La. Not listening" The nerve of some people!!!!!

I had two inductions. They went smoothly. Everything was wonderful. Beautiful bouncing baby boys. NO complications from the inductions. Awesome experience. Don't let anybody tell you any different, got it?

PJ: You Diet cherry Coke fiend, you. Just for the record, when PJ was here visiting, dh went to the local donut shop, and got some fresh(ly?) made donuts. When PJ FINALLY woke up (hee hee), he said "Here have a donut. Would you like some milk or OJ?"

I think we both looked at him like he was crazy. He said "What???", and I believe we said, in unison, "DIET COKE. duh":sad2:

This weekend when I'm at your house I'm going to wake up at 6am and wake you up too just for that comment. Actually, I take that back. I have no interest in waking up at 6. I'm sure the man will be more familiar with my needs this time: popcorn and diet coke at night and diet coke for breakfast. Did I mention that Mr. T makes excellent popcorn? popcorn::

Oh, I just found a very exciting fact for me!

They now have presliced apples packaged that wont brown! That may seem silly, but the report says even kids are twice as likely to eat slice apples than whole.
Now, given I eat NO fruit, but would probably go for pre-sliced applesm this is exciting to me. Now I just have to find out if there are any in the stores around here..........

Oh wait, maybe I could just buy an apple slicer gizmo????
Hmm, nice thought, but since I am always in a mad rush in the morning, not likely to happen then, and doing it the night before would get brown slices.

Seeing I dont even take my vitamins guess this idea will fall by the wayside too, LOL. But it sounded good.

I eat an apple almost every single day. I love apples. Apples and peaches. Love love love them! Go find yourself some pre-sliced apples, Marita.

Twinkie thanks you for this useful post. For reals.

The doc came through with a called in generic script and much more sane dosing instructions. Her eye looks much better- I think we caught it early. No signs of symptoms in anyone else. Hopefully everyone will wake up with non infected eyes.

I feel yucky tonight- but only 2 more weeks!

:grouphug: and pirate: and :flower3: to everyone

Marita, IDK about Florida, but around here, presliced apples cost $2.99 each! But since Boris and Natasha have several wiggly/missing teeth at any given moment, sliced apples are a MUST. So I've discovered that apple slices can be dipped in Sprite to prevent browning. The Sprite "bath" is also a better option than the usual lemon juice solution because it doesn't make the apples sour.

In the words of the immortal Martha Stewart, "It's a good thing."

PJ thanks you for this useful pirate.
Sorry you feel yucky.

I will go on an apple hunt this weekend PJ!:thumbsup2 I like tart green apples.
I like the red ones. Just to be difficult. :rotfl:

Thanks for the advice there, Martha. We had apples for snack at school the other day and they resulted in one lost tooth and several close calls.

Night, all.
:grouphug:

Calgon! Take me away!!!!

Oh, I'm tired. soooo very tired and it's only 8:15! My late night kiddos just got picked up. Like taking down too-tight pony tails, ahhhhhh! :cloud9:

The mama of the 18 month old was told that I did in fact plop him onto the toilet 3 times today without success...weird, huh? I think at that age either it's luck or "fun" for them. Boys are generally closer to 2 1/2-3 before being ready. Other than some potty prodigies like Kaleb (you lucky mama, MommyP).

Good times. Thank yous for replying to my TR!!! :flower3: :cloud9: You are loved and appreciated, all of you!

Vote for Marie!

Thank you for that useful post! I will try it. I will go on a apple slice gadget, sprite hunt this weekend. Now mind you, I am feeling in a healthy frame of mind right now, it might leave me by this weekend. Although I just did check the family supply just a few minutes ago, but I only came up with grapes and oranges and Halloween candy! Not an apple or peach to be found!

DH bought a HUGE pack of celery, for what I do not know. I could use some in beef stew, but nobody but DH and I seems to like it. I love it, with Bisquick dumplings. I thiink I will make some tihs weekend..
But hubby bought like the equivalent of 4 packs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will never use those before they go bad! Can someone put some sense into men's brains? Sometimes feel like the opposite of normal couples. DH is the spender, I am the saver........

Marita, buy TWO of the apple slicing gizmos and keep one at work!

I am still working on a half peck bag on Honeycrisp apples that I bought a couple weeks ago. DH prefers McIntosh, but I only like those when they aren't fully ripe. Of course the caramel dip and chopped peanuts make them not so healthy :rolleyes1

Wendy, I only commented on your trippie in my head (sorry). I totally got your Patrick Warburton-like checklist comment in Part Deux!!!

Twink, here's hoping for a less yucky feeling day tomorrow :grouphug:

You too, Cel. And anyone else who may need it.

Like POLY and Sandy!!! Come out, come out, wherever you ar-r-r-r-r-r-r-e!!!!!!!!!!

..at the event of my disposal, plez note....it's only because of my dedication
to such a knuckle head, [ the story of my life-:sad2: ]...that we are in
the woods..carrying a 20' foot metal ladder and an alunnium ladder in
the middle of an electrical storm...so you can give him all the credit..,

...ps, pumba, we already taken....one really nice 8-pointer.

bull!...its hard to watch a tv programs...about "those trying to live with
animals....* if that was ever accomplished...it would destroy the "wild
kingdom". its just wrong...to tame deer or other wild animals...&
taking away their ...survial instincts...and who knows the results of
taking away their lifestyles..* its a system....working with other systems,
including..man. funny though, man isn't keeping the "herds" in check
enough...he,he he...i saw a redtail hawk..sitting in a field....just

lighting bolts....fyi, blame w.t.!

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

Well, I finally did it. Got up early because I was fooled by the clock I forgot to set back. Soooooo.....here I am. Up WAY early and no school today due to election day.

Twinkie....Glad you got drops for the pink eye. Mimi used to get it all the time when she was in day care. Fine one day and would wake up with her long, beautiful eyelashes all glued together the next morning. The drops always worked like magic for us. Instant healing. Hope they work for you too.

NAB....What's up with the power?? That's weird.

Marita....I prefer the paring knife method for apple slices but I was gonna suggest the same thing as Lynette....sprite bath. I've also used orange juice....anything with citric acid will do.

Wendy
....My mother swears my brother potty trained himself at 18 months but as far as I know it's only my brother and Kaleb. Good luck with the little potty man.

Lil G & PJ....I was worried about you yesterdee! Strong storms up your way! Lil G...walking through the woods with a metal ladder?!?! What were you thinking???

MommyP....You get more done in a day than I get done in a week (or maybe a month!) You are my hero!

Moo
.....I bet the apples are goog in Michigan! We loved the roadside fruit stands up there....the best produce ever! RE: apples....We like the organic galas best but they are sooo expensive.

EVERYBODY....:wave2:

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!
