Weekends go so fast even with an extra hour.

My Mom was putting up her Christmas lights this weekend. She is 74 and still gets up on the ladder to do them. She puts tons up too and just keeps adding to them every year. She won last year for best in the neighbourhood.

Nab, Christmas lights already? Did she drink the cool aid from the stores:sad1:

I got a surprise Tivo recording today: Anne of Green Gables. Must have been in memory from long ago....... All the way from the first episode. So I watched that (still watching) and did my chores and now am sitting here for a little bit with my hot rollers. Couldn't find the spray stuff though .

Nab, I might try to watch amazing race tonight, I just never got the hang of it before.

That is the side of the house....She does the icicle lights( mulit coloured) on the back deck with a big blow up Santa Clause and Snowman. She also has a snow man family on the front lawn. Icicle lights didn't show in the picture across the roof line. Santa is also in a sleigh behind that reindeer.

This year on the side of the house she put two big candy canes at each end that light up.

That's Hannah.

These are from two year ago. The pictures really doesn't do it justice.

You wouldn't believe how many light strings she has. I am glad I do not pay her electric bill...

Last edited by NAB : Today at 06:44 PM. Reason: Marita you put them up before the snow flies and it is too cold ...

Oh, ok, got it :thumbsup2

Looks like a lovely big production, Nab. Kudos to mom!!!!!!

PJ, I left you an early Christmas present from shopping over there!

Nab, your mom's lights are beautiful!!! We only put up a couple things because our electric bill is already super high.

I love Panera's broccoli cheddar and French onion soups. And their Caesar and Asian chicken salads. Once in a while I'll have the asiago roast beef sandwich. Currently, I am addicted to their carrot walnut muffins

Rumor has it they are putting in a Panera in my town. It will beat the heck out of the Applebee's, Pizza Hut, Big Boy, and fast food/pizza places we currently have. We do have a few sit down restaurants, but I don't go to them because they are usually super smoky.

Marita you should see what she does inside. It is a huge production.

She puts me to shame....:lmao:

Why do I fear what I'm going to find?? :rotfl: Off to check it out...

Nab...looks gorgeous!! Have I mentioned that I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! I'm getting so excited! Bring on the snow!

I am a minimalist with decorations. (Read lazy). I a lucky to get the tree up 3 days before 20+ people come over for Xmas Eve dinner and festivities. Of course, then it takes me a month to take it down.....

Oh, totally unrelated to anything, but exciting to me: I discovered a nail place today that is open on Sundays! So when really need a fix and was just too lazy on Saturday (are you getting a theme here?) I now have an alternative:banana:

SOOOO sick! I have a lovely fever and am super duper nauseous.

Shivering cold and burning hot at the same time.

Mamas can NOT get sick. Now I have to call the daycare moms, which stinks! I hate to let them down but there's no sense in attempting to watch kids if I'm this sick. POOH!

I'm skipped 3 meals sick. For me, that is death's door sick

Enough about poor me- Every home needs blow up yard pilgrims and turkeys, I'm thinkin'.

Nab- Hannah has grown a lot! That lady is great for over-decorating

Marita- don't make the baby Jesus cry by getting your nails done on Sunday (juuuuust kidding!)

Ron just went for PIZZA---:scared: nice and greazy pizza so my kids won't have to eat cereal.

Wendy, Oh NOOOO!! sucks! Sending speedy recovery wishes

Good for Ron, greasy pizza will keep kids happy and leave you to recover in peace!

Hope you are better tomorrow :grouphug:

Don't worry, Wendy, this is just an emergency potential... For times when I get UEBER-Lazy on Sarturday and I really need a fix-up. And that is only every 4-5 weeks anyway.

GOOG MORNING!

Our friend is from Marshfield Hills, Lynette. Do you know where that is??

Sure do, Melinda! DH has family in Marshfield. Also, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith has a home there. He can often be found riding his horse along Marshfield's beaches and roads.

the lalijack/bncg smackdown-Lol! I hope the Colts can pull it off. That's all I'll say about that.

Hiya E! The Lalijack/BNCG Smackdown made me giggle too. I'm giggling even more now that the Pats won. End of gloating. Luvyasmooches.

Marita, you should definitely go to Panera. They have great bread. And soups. And salads. And sandwiches. And ice tea . . .

My mom and I had lunch at Panera on Friday. Good sandwiches. And coffee. And bread. And soups. And bagels. Mmmmm...Panera.

ETA: Hi Wendy! You snuck in while I was typing, I guess. Sorry you're not well....get some rest and stay hydrated!

so how did the great smack- off turn out?

Inquiring minds want to know

Attention all sports fans!!!!!

I watched football!

ok. not really. but it was on while I was in the same room.

and congrats, Lali!

sorry, babycow.

(that should tell ya, marita)

all I can say is peyton looked pissed.

moo - you never said how your daughter liked nashvegas.

nab - I like the lights. but I don't get the palm tree.

alright. I am soooo tired.
I'm going to bed.
night y'all!

oh - feel better, utah!!!!!!!

Wendy, feel better speedy quick!

I had some chills and a growly tummy this morning, but fortunately that was the extent of it.

Hubby is watching and chuckling at Nemo.

Congrats, L/Sorry E on the game results!

Congrats and sorry's to respective sports teams fans.

This is the time when I start not liking the turning back of clocks, cause it means its getting up an hour earlier tomorrow and going to bed an hour earlier tonight. Did I ever mention I am NOT a morning person? I might have 10 or 15 times........

Marita, I think you're thinking of the Spring-time daylight savings time. Tomorrow if you get up at 7:00 am, your body will still feel like it's later (8:00 am) for a while.

I love the time change in the Fall . . . except it gets dark really early. Spring is when I hate the time change and have a lot of trouble getting up.

Wendy-- sorry your not feeling well.

Marita-- it is only the first day that throws me off.

I hate that it gets dark so early too. Had Hubby change the timers on the lights in the living room.

Celery-- She just like it I guess and it came to a the point we would say to relatives look for the palm tree to find her house on Christmas eve....:rotfl2: She always has a party.

Can't say I watch football. Wouldn't understand it . Hubby watched some of it I think.

Speaking of bed I must get there myself....night all.

Hope you feel better soon, Wendy. Get lots of rest. If you can.

Night, all.
:grouphug:

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

My body clock has reset itself to regular time and I was really hoping to get up an hour early this morning!

RE: Colts/Pats game....I never watch pro football but it was a beautiful thing...those guys are big and fast. And I really have no opinion about either team but after watching the game I have to say with regard to the quarterbacks, Peyton Manning seems to be a class act, Elisabeth. He did look miffed but he kept his cool. Tom Brady came off as a pretty boy with an attitude...all up the referees faces every third play. (sorry Lynette) The Pats pulled it off and our friend was from Marshfield was BEYOND excited. And yes, everytime he mentions Marshfield there is a Steve Tyler mention too. His parents live in Sandwich now so they go to the Cape to visit every summer.

Wendy....OH NO! Try to feel better and rest. And clean out your pm box, sistah!

Celery....You are the cool kid at Panera! We have many Paneras here in town but I never eat there. I am too cheap to pay $7ish for a sandwich but DD and her boyfriend eat there a lot. I love it when we get the bagels at our office. They are goog and the cream cheese is mmmmmm.

NAB
....I love the lights but you're right...pictures don't ever do justice to lights. Like Spectro. Hard to capture on film. I think the palm tree indicates her desire to move to Florida? Am I right?

Marita!
Sunday manicure?! I'm in!!!

Moo
...I'm smiling at Mr. Moo smiling at Nemo! How cute! I'm gonna take this photopass CD to work this week and burn a copy of yours and MommyPs pictures and mail to you. (My CD burner at home is broken.) If you don't mind, could you pm your address? Thanks!

MommyP....See above.

Everybody else that I missed......:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
